Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson posts supportive message to injured co-star Kevin Hart

Actor and comedian Kevin Hart reportedly suffered a “major back injury” after he was involved in a single-vehicle accident in the early hours of Sunday morning in Calabasas, California.

Numerous celebrities and friends of Hart reached out to offer expressions of concern following news of his serious injury, including close pal and movie co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who urged his wounded compatriot to “stay strong” while he recovered, saying that the duo had “more laughing to do together.”

Kevin Hart seriously injured

KCAL first reported that Hart was riding in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda muscle car — driven by friend Jared Black — when control was lost and the vehicle tumbled down an embankment along Mulholland Highway, trapping Black and another passenger, Black’s fiance Rebecca Broxterman, inside the mangled, overturned vehicle.

Hart managed to exit the wreckage on his own and seek help, but he was soon transported to the hospital when it became clear that he had suffered a back injury.

According to TMZ, Hart underwent a successful surgery to repair the damage to his back on Sunday, and though he was expected to be kept in the hospital for at least a few days to monitor his initial recovery, Hart’s wife, Eniko Hart, told the outlet that her husband is “going to be just fine.”

Encouragement from “The Rock”

That was undoubtedly welcome news for Dwayne Johnson, who, according to CBS News, became a close friend of Hart’s after the pair starred together in the 2016 comedy film Central Intelligence, 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and had since been working on the upcoming sequel Jumanji: The Next Level. Hart even made a cameo appearance in Johnson’s recent action film entitled Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw.

In a post to his Instagram account, Johnson wrote, “Stop messing with my emotions brother @kevinhart4real. We have a lot more laughing to do together. Love you man. Stay strong.”

The message included an emoji icon of hands clasped together in prayer, as well as a picture of the two friends clowning around together while riding camels during the production of the new Jumanji film.

Positive messages for a positive person

CBS noted that Johnson most certainly wasn’t the only celebrity to reach out with words of condolences and encouragement for Hart, as other co-stars and personal friends also posted messages of positivity in regard to the injured comedian.

Those other stars included the likes of actors Bryan Cranston and Terry Crews, as well as rapper Busta Rhymes. TMZ noted that NBA star Chris Paul even paid Hart a personal visit in the hospital.

Kevin Hart is a good and decent man — despite what the faux-outraged activists and media pundits might say just because of some decade-old, allegedly homophobic tweets — and the outpouring of support he has received from Johnson and others only goes to prove that fact. Hopefully, his surgery truly was a success and he will, in time, fully recover from the serious back injury he sustained.
