Dems grow increasingly concerned about Fetterman’s chances in the midterms

The New York Post just published a report suggesting that Democrats have become increasingly concerned about Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman’s (D) Senate candidacy.

The report comes from Salena Zito. According to Zito, Democrats, specifically, have become more and more concerned about whether Fetterman is fit for office.

“Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman is running for US Senate, but his floundering performance on the campaign trail has left many questioning whether he is fit to run for office — or even serve in the upper chamber of the house,” Zito writes.

This comes amid the important race for one of Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate seats.

In the race, Democrat Fetterman is facing off against the Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz, who has the backing of former President Donald Trump.

Currently, Fetterman does have a significant advantage over Oz in the polls. Real Clear Politics has Fetterman leading Oz on average by four percentage points. But, this could change in a hurry.

Fetterman’s fitness, or lack thereof

Despite the significant lead in the polls, Zito reports that there are many Democrats who are concerned about Fetterman, questioning, among other things, whether he is fit for office.

As Zito reports, Fetterman has suffered all kinds of health issues, the effects of which have been witnessed by the public during those limited occasions when Fetterman has given speeches or made public comments. “At the events he has attended, his halting, sometimes confused, remarks have caused concern,” Zito reports.

Zito backs this up with numerous examples, including the recent but short speech that he gave at a Labor Day rally alongside President Joe Biden. Zito reports that Fetterman “often halted or trailed off and offered no comments on policy.”

“I did not realize the extent . . .”

Throughout her report, Zito provides statements made by Democrats expressing concern about Fetterman’s health. On Democrat voter, for example, is quoted as saying, “I knew he had had health issues, I did not realize the extent they had affected him.”

In addition to this, Zito identifies mainstream media outlets that have criticized or expressed concern about Fetterman.

The truth of the matter is that we don’t even know how bad Fetterman’s condition is because he and his campaign have not been upfront about it. It does seem more than possible that Fetterman’s lead could slip as the election approaches and more and more voters become aware of Fetterman’s condition.
