Liberal darling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) just got dropped like a hot potato.
After Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell put her Green New Deal up for a vote in the Senate, not a single Democrat voted “yes.”
Democrats everywhere were happy to spread the “climate crisis” rhetoric. But when it came to actually voting? Not even Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), who actually co-sponsored the radical climate change proposal, was willing to check “yes.”
McConnell’s office posted a mashup video demonstrating the disconnect on his official Twitter account. Watch below:

Is this a sign that Democrats are finally seeing the light when it comes to AOC?
That her legislation did not get a single “yes” vote from her own party is not a good sign for the young socialist.
AOC tried to dampen the defeat by saying her office encouraged Democrats to vote “present” to protest McConnell’s decision to force a vote on the bill.
McConnell’s official campaign Twitter account couldn’t resist posting a mocking reply:
“im not owned! im not owned!!” pic.twitter.com/9b74e6HDBK

Changing the World
When AOC put her plan forward, she made it sound as though it was the be all, end all for the future of this world. Then, after it met with resistance, she backtracked and said it was only meant to spur a debate.
The fact is, her Green New Deal is not even worth the paper it was printed on because it is completely unrealistic.
Things are so bad in the party right now that even former President Barack Obama had to speak up and remind the youngsters to think about how to pay for their big ideas.
Economists have looked at AOC’s plan and stated even if we hit the one-percenters with 100 percent taxes, it would still not be enough to pay for these measures.
Kudos to Mitch McConnell for showing some backbone and actually putting the Democrats in their place.
