Democrat lawmaker arrested on suspicion of child cruelty

California Democrats are facing yet another scandal involving one of their lawmakers.

Joaquin Arambula, who is currently serving as a state assemblyman, has been arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor child cruelty.

Stunned Friends & Family

By all accounts, Arambula is a dedicated family man who loves his children — which is why the current allegations against him have rocked his inner circle.

Who the child is or where the alleged assault happened has not yet been revealed.

However, what we do know is that police interviewed the child and are locked in on Arambula as the man who carried out the alleged abuse.

Local reports said the level of abuse did not constitute a felony.

Jerry Dyer, the local Chief of Police, said: “The child we interviewed gave a very good statement, very detailed statement, and we’ve been able to determine that what the child did tell us is factual.”

That does not exactly sound good for Arambula.

The Abuse

It is unclear who the child is at this point, though according to a recent report, the child in question has been removed from his or her home and has been placed with relatives.

The child’s injuries were reportedly first reported to authorities by the child’s school.

After authorities were called, both Arambula and his wife arrived at the school.

Dyer said Arambula is not believed to be any further threat to any children.

Arambula’s fellow assemblymen are already calling for his resignation based on the seriousness of the allegations.

If he is found guilty and convicted on the charges, Arambula stands to go to prison for up to 12 months.
