Former Greenpeace Canada president says Green New Deal is a ‘silly plan’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) just got called out on her Green New Deal by a former president of Greenpeace, a global environmental activism organization.

After seeing Ocasio-Cortez’s plan, Patrick Moore, who served as the president of Greenpeace Canada for almost a decade, called her a “pompous little twit” as well as calling the Green New Deal “a silly plan.” Watch below:

Educated Voice

Moore is definitely qualified to critique AOC’s “silly” plan — he has years of experience in the environmental movement. Moore joined Greenpeace in 1971, only a year after it was founded.

He quickly gained acceptance in the inner circle of the group and eventually became president of the Greenpeace Foundation in Canada in 1977.

Moore served in that role for almost a decade. In the mid-1980s, Moore broke with the group over differences over the organization’s policies.

Moore felt the group had transformed from an environmentally-conscious group into an extreme arm of the “political left.”

No Climate Crisis

According to Moore, all Ocasio-Cortez’s talk about a “climate crisis” is hogwash.

“There is no climate crisis,” Moore saud. “There is weather and climate all around the world, and in fact, carbon dioxide is the main building block of all life.”

He says climate change is natural rather than human-caused..

“Climate change is a perfectly natural phenomenon, and this modern warm period actually began 300 years ago when the Little Ice Age began to come to an end,” he said.

According to Moore, the left’s talk of a “climate crisis” is just fear-mongering to push a political agenda.

Politicians like Ocasio-Cortez want to scare people into falling in line with the left’s political beliefs.
