Much of the left has no idea how bad things have gotten for the Democrat party and the kind of “shellacking” they are in for in the November midterm elections.
Hollywood comedy film writer David Weissman thought he was going to own Elon Musk with a Twitter poll about him and AOC, but instead, he got owned when the vote did not go the way he expected.
It all started when Elon Musk, the tech billionaire who is in the process of buying Twitter and taking it private, posted a Twitter poll to his 94 million followers, asking whether they trust billionaires or politicians less.
By a three-to-one margin, his followers said they trusted politicians less.
Who do you trust less? Real question.

Musk followed up on the poll with a dare to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who has become known colloquially as AOC. “@AOC I dare you to run the same poll with your followers,” Musk tweeted.
Giving Ocasio-Cortez credit, she did not take him up on the dare, but Dave Weissman did. He tweeted, “Let’s prove how phony the right’s ridiculous polls are by doing one of our own. Who do you trust more @elonmusk or @AOC?
Weissman’s own Twitter followers selected Musk as the one they trusted more by a margin of more than 60%, 81% to 19%.
Conservative Reddit captioned its retweet of the result, “Lol, even the left is sick of AOC at this point.”
Taking the L
To his credit, Weissman followed his poll up with, “Not sure how this poll flipped but I will not delete it and will take the L.”
It’s good that at least some on the left are able to lose gracefully because it seems like they have a lot more losing to do this year.
The midterms are not looking good, with even CNN host Chuck Todd saying Democrats are in “shellacking territory” four months ahead of the midterms.
President Joe Biden and the Democrats have been plagued with inflation, record-high gas prices, and other woes that have seen their poll numbers fall precipitously.
