Minor crash sends three officers in Trump’s motorcade to the hospital
Donald Trump’s motorcade was involved in an accident earlier this week.
Three police officers in the president’s motorcade were treated at a hospital after they crashed their motorcycles on a highway while escorting the president to a speech in Lousiana.
Battered and Bruised
Information was scarce when news first broke that there had been an accident involving Trump’s motorcade.
It was known, however, that President Trump’s vehicle was not involved in the crashes.
According to White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, all three officers involved “are being treated for injuries at a nearby hospital and are in stable condition.” Photos from journalists showed officers with bloody arms.
Trump Hits Candidates Hard
The president was in town to give a speech at a natural gas facility in Louisiana, where he slammed “fake news and blasted the Democrat presidential hopefuls. He even called Pete Buttigieg, “Boot Edge Edge.”
Trump also blasted Beto O’Rourke for saying he was “made for this,” meaning politics. The president asserted that if anything, O’Rourke was made “to fall like a rock.”
Trump also called Bernie Sanders “crazy” and took his usual digs at Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
Meanwhile, media outlets are already slamming Trump because they claim his talk sounded more like a campaign speech than a trip being paid for by the taxpayers of the country.
Trump supporters loved it, but the president better be careful making such polarizing comments about fellow 2020 candidates during trips like these.
Democrats will no doubt go after him for using taxpayer-funded trips as campaign events, which could be considered a violation of the Hatch Act.
We all know Democrats will jump at even the smallest crumb on the table if they think they can take Trump down — and the president really doesn’t have time to deal with that right now.
