Clinton calls for review of Trump’s ‘phone records’ to see if he spoke with Putin during Capitol building riot

Failed 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has never fully accepted her loss to President Donald Trump, nor has she relented from continuously pressing her baseless and thoroughly debunked narrative that Trump has been in cahoots with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

In fact, Clinton asserted her belief that Trump spoke directly with Putin during the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol building, which she claimed would be revealed by a review of the president’s phone records, The Hill reported.

That ridiculous notion was contained within a brief audio clip of a conversation between Clinton and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who also suggested some level of involvement by Putin in the Jan. 6 incident.

Trump is “beholden” to Putin

Clinton said of Trump, “We learned a lot about our system of government over the last four years with a president who disdains democracy, and as you have said numerous times has other agendas.”

“What they all are, I don’t think we yet know,” she continued. “I hope historically we will find out who he’s beholden to, who pulls his strings.”

“I would love to see his phone records to see whether he was talking to Putin the day that the insurgents invaded our Capitol,” Clinton added. “But we now know that — not just him but his enablers, his accomplices, his cult members  — have the same disregard for democracy.”

Pelosi agrees

Clinton asked Pelosi if there was a need for a 9/11-style commission about the entirety of the Jan. 6 incident at the Capitol, to which Pelosi signaled her agreement, The Daily Caller reported.

Pelosi, referencing the picture of her rudely pointing at Trump during a White House meeting, reiterated what she allegedly told him that day: “With you, Mr. President, all roads lead to Putin.”

“I don’t know what Putin has on him politically, financially, or personally, but what happened last week was a gift to Putin because Putin wants to undermine democracy in our country and throughout the world,” the House speaker continued.

“And these people, unbeknownst to them, are Putin puppets,” Pelosi said in regard to the protesters and rioters. “They were doing Putin’s business when they did that at the incitement of an insurrection by the president of the United States.”

These two women — purportedly powerful and sober leaders — just put forward an already disproven hypothesis about Trump and Putin that would be laughable if the subject matter weren’t so consequential and serious. Yet it is Trump and his supporters who are routinely dismissed as conspiracy theorists with no basis in reality.
