U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) was just caught berating her staff.
The Current Revolt, a Texas newspaper, has just published recorded audio of the tirade. It is a minute and thirty-five seconds long and can be found here.
Before we get to the tape, let's take a quick look at Jackson Lee's background.
Fox News reports:
Jackson Lee, a Hillary Clinton-endorsed congresswoman who built a reputation in Washington as being one of the "meanest" members of Congress, has represented the same Houston, Texas district in the House of Representatives for over 28 years. In March, Jackson Lee threw her name in the running to become the mayor of Houston in an off-year election, which if elected, would bring her time in Congress to an end.
It begins with Jackson Lee asking a staffer, "Uh, you took a piece of paper from that woman, uh, regarding, uh, something that was owned by Ducantell. Where is it? What, what date was it?"
The staffer replies, "Oh, from Jerome took it upstairs. I'll have to call to pick it up when I switched out the papers. I'll call him."
This, apparently, was enough to set Jackson Lee off because the remainder of the recording is her having a meltdown.
The Congresswoman says:
I don't want you to do a god**** thing. I want you to have a f****** brain. I want you to have read it. I want you to say, Congresswoman, with such and such date. That's what I want. That's the kind of staff that I want to have. So some stupid other mother****** did it. And, and, I don't have the information. Nobody sent me the information. I need to, uh, ensure my, um, schedule and, uh, you know, if, if Boo Boo did it, s*** a** did it, f*** face did it. And, nobody knows a god**** thing in my office. Okay? Nothing. I gave it to you. Your job was to get it on the calendar, imprint it in your brain, or send me the information back saying, “Congresswoman, I made sure that the Ovide Ducantell event that you gave me, uh, for a so-and-so date at seven is on the f****** calendar.” Not to, oh, Jerome has it.
Believe it or not, this is not even the end of Jackson Lee's tirade.
The congresswoman continues in this same vein for another thirty seconds.
Jackson Lee says:
Okay. So, when I called Jerome, he only sitting up there like a fat a** stupid idiot talking about, uh, what the f***? He doesn't know. Okay? Both of y'all are f*** ups [inaudible]. It's the worst s*** that I could have ever had put together. Two god**** big a** children f****** idiots serve no god**** purpose. Ain't managing nobody. Nobody's respecting them. Nobody gives a s*** about what you're doing and you ain't doing s***. And this is an example of it. I gave it to Jerome. This is not child's work.
Specifics about the recording, including where and when it comes from, have not been reported.
Jackson Lee, at the time of this writing, has not responded to it with a statement.
Fox highlights the fact that this is not the first incident of its kind involving Jackson Lee.
