Former FBI official: Trove of Clinton emails discovered in Obama White House

Throughout much of the past several years’ worth of discussion about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s unauthorized use of a private email server to conduct official government business, the name of her boss, former President Barack Obama, has been conspicuously absent, despite the alleged crimes having occurred under his watch.

Now, however, sworn testimony from a former top FBI official has seemingly implicated the prior president as, at the very least, having knowledge of the illegal and unauthorized communications arrangement.

Judicial Watch lawsuit

The Washington Examiner reported that, as part of a lawsuit over Clinton’s email scandal, conservative watchdog organization Judicial Watch was permitted by the court to depose Bill Priestap, the former assistant director of the FBI’s counterintelligence division, a role in which he helped oversee the bureau’s investigations into both Clinton’s emails and the allegations against then-candidate Donald Trump.

During the deposition, Priestap was asked to identify anyone and everyone from whom the FBI had obtained “email repositories” that were linked to Clinton’s private server.

Among numerous individuals and entities included on Priestap’s list was the Executive Office of the President, meaning that the FBI, during its investigation of Clinton’s emails in 2015/2016, obtained at least some of those emails from Obama’s White House, proving that the then-president was likely aware of the unorthodox communications arrangement.

Damning testimony

“This astonishing confirmation, made under oath by the FBI, shows that the Obama FBI had to go to President Obama’s White House office to find emails that Hillary Clinton tried to destroy or hide from the American people,” said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, in a statement.

“No wonder Hillary Clinton has thus far skated — Barack Obama is implicated in her email scheme,” Fitton added.

The release of Priestap’s testimony by Judicial Watch would seem to coincide with apparent efforts by congressional Republicans and Trump’s Department of Justice, particularly the inspector general, to delve into the facts surrounding alleged misconduct by former top FBI and DOJ officials with regard to both the Clinton and Trump investigations.

Obama’s dishonesty

On the exceedingly rare occasions that Obama was ever asked about the Clinton email scandal, he played ignorant and claimed he learned about the situation from news reports at the same time as every other American.

However, the testimony from Priestap that some of Clinton’s emails were recovered from the White House seemingly undermines and exposes that assertion by Obama as a lie.

In truth, especially given the now-proven fact that Clinton and Obama corresponded with each other via email, there is no conceivable way that President Obama and his White House weren’t fully aware of Clinton’s illegal and unauthorized private server, save for utterly disgraceful and embarrassing incompetence.

Barack Obama knew about Hillary Clinton’s illicit email server, and it would be nice if somebody, anybody, in the media would take a moment to ask him directly why he lied to the American people and claimed to have no knowledge of the scandal in which we now know he was involved.
