Failed White House hopeful Hillary Clinton is playing the world’s smallest violin for President Joe Biden.
In a new interview, Clinton complained that Americans simply don’t “appreciate” President Biden’s “extraordinary accomplishments,” Breitbart reports.
“Democracy is messy”
Speaking Tuesday with MSNBC, Clinton blamed Biden’s lack of popularity among the American public at least in part on the “messy process of legislation.”
“Democracy is messy,” Clinton said, according to Breitbart. “People got kind of frustrated looking at the messy process of legislation.”
The former secretary of state was reportedly referring to negotiations over both a coronavirus relief bill passed early in Biden’s presidency and a recent bipartisan infrastructure package that was nearly derailed by Democratic infighting.
“They didn’t really appreciate that within a year, the Biden administration has passed two major pieces of legislation through both the House and Senate,” Clinton said of Americans, according to Breitbart.
“They’ve passed another major piece [the Build Back Better Act] through the House that will soon be in the Senate,” she added. “By any measure, those are extraordinary accomplishments and they will help millions of Americans with health care and prescription drug prices, as well as climate change and so much else.”
“The other side”
Speaking Tuesday, Clinton also blamed American’s inability to recognize these “extraordinary accomplishments” on “disinformation.”
“Because of the way we are getting our information today and lack of gatekeepers, and people who have a historic perspective who can help us understand what we are seeing, there is a real vulnerability in the electorate to the kind of demagoguery and disinformation that the other side is really good at exploiting,” she concluded, according to Breitbart.
Whatever the reason, things certainly aren’t looking good for Biden right now. RealClearPolitics has pegged the president’s average approval rating at just 41.6%, and his disapproval rating is currently at 53.1%.
This means Biden is underwater by double-digits: 11.5 percentage points.
From a crisis in the supply chain to a crisis at the border, it’s not hard to see why Americans aren’t sold on Biden. Try as Clinton might to deflect, there’s no hiding that his shortcomings far outweigh any so-called “accomplishments.”
