Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, were recently caught using a private jet to take a vacation, the Daily Mirror reports.
Your initial reaction might be something along the lines of, "Who cares?" or "Stop giving these two more of the spotlight." We do not disagree with either of those sentiments.
But, here, we are looking to highlight the hypocrisy of Harry and Meghan. How so?
The pair are notable advocates of the left's climate change agenda. Yet, they were just caught using a private jet - which is not exactly climate friendly - to take a vacation.
One part that I forgot to mention above is that Harry and Meghan used a private jet to take a vacation after they attended a climate change conference.
The Daily Mirror reports, "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew off on a private jet to enjoy a Caribbean holiday... after attending a conference that warned of how the blight of climate change is damaging children’s mental health."
The outlet goes on to provide more details about the trip.
It reports, "They attended the summit in New York on October 10 then flew from New Jersey to Canouan in a Falcon 7X for a holiday the next day. And, last Sunday, they used the same aircraft to travel four hours from the exclusive island hotspot to Atlanta, Georgia."
The Daily Mirror adds, "Private jets burn more fuel per passenger than airliners and the flights totalled over 4,000 miles with an estimated 9.6 tons of CO2 emissions."
Harry and Meghan are not the only ones to engage in such hypocrisy. Another notable example is U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry.
Kerry seemingly takes a private jet just about everywhere that he goes, claiming that - even though it violates his climate agenda - it is necessary for him to be able to go around the world warning countries about the dangers of climate change. Kerry, in other words, claims that his private jet use is a necessary evil and, therefore, justified.
Harry and Meghan, however, cannot use this excuse, for they took the private jet on a vacation.
An unnamed source did provide the Daily Mirror with an excuse on behalf of Harry and Meghan. The outlet reports:
A source said the private plane Harry and Meghan used is owned by a pal, who owns a property on Canouan. They added that the couple took a commercial flight from California to New York ahead of the conference, before flying home on another commercial flight from Atlanta. Representatives of the Sussexes were approached for comment. Harry previously said he travels on commercial planes “99% of my life” and occasionally needs to “ensure my family are safe”.
Apparently, climate change is not as big a problem as these two make it out to be. If it was, then surely such an excuse would not suffice.
