An Albuquerque, NM community is mourning the loss of two of its own this week.
While traveling on a charter bus in Colorado, two members of a church group were killed and an additional 13 were injured when the bus crashed.
15 members of the Albuquerque church were traveling in the group. According to reports, their charter bus was traveling on I-25 when the accident happened.
The bus apparently hit a bridge structure, then veered off the road just outside of Pueblo, CO.
Among those dead was the driver of the bus. Local authorities stated he was ejected from the bus during the crash and died.
They also believe the driver may have had some type of medical condition that is related to the accident.
In addition to the driver of the bus, one of the passengers was also killed in the accident. Neither of their identities have been publicly released as of yet. An additional thirteen people were also injured in the crash.
When the accident was reported, there was a massive local response.
Three medical helicopters were dispatched to the scene to transport injured to local hospitals.
Additionally, more than a dozen fire and rescue crews responded.
Injured parties were transported to both St. Mary Corwin Medical Center and Parkview Medical.
No further information was available about the injured or their conditions.
