Chris Cuomo ‘indefinitely suspended’ after damning AG investigation into his brother

Millions of Americans received a wonderful early Christmas gift on Tuesday evening after it was announced that CNN host Chris Cuomo was “indefinitely suspended.”

According to Fox News, the bombshell announcement came in the wake of a damning AG report that revealed Cuomo used his position as a powerful media influencer to gain intel on the sexual misconduct scandal his disgraced brother faced earlier this year.

The news was widely celebrated by conservative politicians and commentators, and everyday Americans who have grown sick and tired of the Cuomo brothers getting away with so much over the past year.

CNN’s statement

Presumably begrudgingly, CNN was forced to release a statement on the news, as Cuomo was literally the only primetime anchor able to anchor the network’s fledgling ratings this year.

“The New York Attorney General’s office released transcripts and exhibits Monday that shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense,” the CNN statement read.

It added: “The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions. When Chris admitted to us he had offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly. But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second.”

Then CNN announced the shocking decision, writing: “These documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew. As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation.”

Prior to the suspension, the network had gone to great lengths to protect its only primetime ratings magnet.

It gets worse

While many from both sides of the aisle ramped up calls for Cuomo’s ouster on Monday on the heels of the AG’s report, it became clear that the anchor was in trouble, as the report uncovered a major lie he’d told his viewing audience earlier this year.

“I never made calls to the press about my brother’s situation,” Cuomo said during his nightly program in August after it was revealed that he was involved, at some level, in helping his disgraced brother.

The text messages provided in the AG’s report clearly proved that was a lie, as it showed Cuomo reaching out to high-level media friends for intel on his brother’s numerous accusers.

Only time will tell if CNN every brings him back, but for now, it’s refreshing to know that we won’t have to listen to “Fredo” gaslight Americans for the time being.
