Supporters of President Donald Trump have been patiently waiting to see what U.S. Attorney John Durham would find during his probe of the origins of the infamous Trump–Russia collusion investigation.
Now, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows says that based on the evidence he’s seen, he expects that indictments are indeed forthcoming, as the Daily Caller reports.
Durham probe continues
In late October of 2019, Durham was tasked by Attorney General William Barr to investigate the origins of the Russia probe, which, as readers will recall, produced no evidence of wrongdoing by President Trump.
It has since been revealed that the FBI committed serious abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant process in order to prolong an investigation that agents knew was headed down a dead end.
Recently, information came to light that seemed to implicate none other than presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden in the tangled plot against Trump and his associates, as it was revealed that he suggested using the arcane Logan Act as a possible method of ensnaring Trump’s former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
By many accounts, it appears that former FBI Director James Comey, several of his agents, and Biden had a hand in attempting to take down Trump, and they were not alone.
Durham has been charged with sorting through what happened and ensure accountability for those involved, but here we are, nine months later, and not a single indictment has issued.
“I expect indictments”
Meadows, however, believes that the patience exhibited by Americans thus far will soon pay off. “I think the American people expect indictments. I know I expect indictments based on the evidence I’ve seen,” the White House chief of staff said, according to the Daily Caller.
Meadows also offered a bit more insight to the investigation, stating, “You’re going to see a couple of other documents come out in the coming days that will suggest that not only was the [Trump] campaign spied on, but the FBI did not act appropriately as they were investigating.”
After a year of waiting, the American people deserve to know the truth about what happened, and it must be revealed whether Biden himself played any role in this fiasco, because he is the one who will face off against Trump in November.
Durham must publicly explain his findings before the election so the American people can make an informed decision at the polls.
If he waits, and Biden prevails this fall, it is highly unlikely that the results of Durham’s probe will ever see the light of day, and the rampant corruption that was plain to see will assuredly go unpunished.
