CDC director admits on MSNBC that COVID-19 is ‘likely’ an endemic disease, like influenza

Democrats have largely resisted, for nearly two years, what a growing number of experts believe to be true: that COVID-19 will likely be an endemic virus with which we’ll learn to live, just like influenza and other common infectious diseases.

However, according to Breitbart, Democrats might have to rewrite their pandemic narrative, as the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) just admitted that COVID-19 will “likely” become an endemic virus.

The admission from Dr. Rochelle Walensky, at the very least, will force Dems, the White House, and liberal governors across the country to acknowledge the fact that COVID-19 is probably not the end of the world for most, and it’s a virus we can largely control, again, like influenza.

What did she say?

Walensky’s revelation came about during a Friday interview on MSNBC’s The Beat with Ari Melber, when she was asked if earlier goals of eradicating the virus have been pushed to the wayside, given the reality of the situation.

“Given the rate of vaccination in the United States and the indications that there are large groups choosing not to get vaccinated, is the CDC’s view that this will not be eradicated, that we will have to deal with COVID and its mutations over the multi-year-long term?” Melber asked.

“We have seen now that this is likely to become an endemic disease here in the United States, and really around the world. We have many diseases that are endemic. Influenza being one of them,” Walensky responded.

She went on to admit that such endemic diseases cause the United States “minor challenges” on a yearly basis that are manageable, adding “that may very well be what happens with COVID.”

However, Walensky would conclude her remarks by pushing the daily talking point of urging all Americans to get vaccinated as a precaution anyway — an addendum that was undoubtedly appreciated by the Big Pharma companies that produce the vaccines.

The timing

Walensky’s admission, which seemed to completely deflate the fearmongering over the pandemic that is perpetually pushed by most of the mainstream media, came at the same time media outlets are rushing to report the latest emergence of the omicron variant in various U.S. states.

According to CNBC, as of this writing, some 20 cases of the omicron variant have been discovered in the United States, with a majority of those infections taking hold in fully vaccinated individuals, many of whom haven’t even traveled, suggesting that the variant has likely been around for several weeks.

The good news, so far, is that omicron infections tend to be on the mild side, with CNBC noting that not a single omicron case in America has resulted in a severe event, much unlike the delta variant, which has tended to elicit more severe symptoms for those who catch it.

If and when COVID-19 is finally treated in the same scientific manner as influenza, Americans will be free to choose whether or not they take a yearly vaccination, just like we choose with the flu shot.
