House Oversight Chairman James Comer share the names of the GOP lawmakers who will sit on President Donald Trump's task force in charge of declassified documents, Just The News reported. The committee will expose information from Jeffrey Epstein's files and the John F. Kennedy assassination.
Comer announced the Republican members on Tuesday, including his choice for chairwoman, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida. The others are Reps. Eli Craine of Arizona, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Eric Burlison of Missouri, Nancy Mace of South Carolina, Tim Burchett of Tennessee, and Brandon Gill of Texas.
These lawmakers will make up the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, which will be in charge of handling the dissemination of information from the government's trove of secrets. So far, no Democrats have joined.
"Ensuring government transparency for the American people is a core mission of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The Republicans on Rep. Luna’s task force are steadfast champions of transparency, and I am confident they will vigorously pursue and deliver the truth on critical issues," Comer said in a statement.
Luna also released a statement to X, formerly Twitter, about her plans for the task force and its important mission. "First hearing will cover JFK," she wrote.
"I am looking to bring in a few people. To include an individual on the assassination record review board as well as someone on the House Select Committee on Assassinations. There will be a few more," Luna went on.
"Deep state mouthpieces are trying to take what I said and skew it. Cope harder," she added, calling out her detractors.

According to Fox News, Luna and Comer were busy sending letters to various agencies looking for documents. Some of those included the CIA over the origins of COVID-19, the Defense Department and CIA for 9/11 files, the National Security Agency and CIA over the JFK, RFK, and MLK assassinations, and the Justice Department for Jeffrey Epstein's files.
President Donald Trump created this task force through an executive order to fulfill one of his many campaign promises. The president demanded a review to complete the release of the JFK files as well as those related to other political assassinations.
Comer believes this is important in restoring trust in the government. "For too long, the federal government has kept information of public interest classified, and the American people are demanding greater transparency," he told Fox News.
"This secrecy has sowed distrust in our institutions," Comer added. He said the task force would "build on the Trump administration’s efforts to declassify records of national importance and ensure Americans get the answers they deserve."
The Kentucky lawmaker praised Luna for her role in this assignment. "Rep. Luna is committed to shining a light on the truth and ending the era of secrecy. It’s time to let the sunlight in and finally provide answers the American public has long demanded," Comer said.
The American people have lost faith in their government after decades of lies and coverups. Trump is restoring that and showing that he's a man of his word by keeping those campaign promises.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem blasted the FBI for leaking sensitive ICE raid information to the press, promising that agents would be prosecuted "to the fullest extent" for doing so.
Noem was furious on Monday in an X post about a Sunday Los Angeles Times article that gave details of a planned "large scale" raid on the city.
"The FBI is so corrupt," Noem wrote. "We will work with any and every agency to stop leaks and prosecute these crooked deep state agents to the fullest extent of the law."
Thousands are protesting ICE and Trump's stepped-up immigration enforcement in Los Angeles, and violence erupted when one 17-year-old protester was stabbed on Friday. He remains in critical condition.
Noem has been all over the U.S. and elsewhere making sure Trump's immigration policies are implemented as ordered.
She went to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba last week to oversee violent criminal detainees being sent there.
"My message to criminal alien murderers, rapists, child predators and gangsters: do not come to this country or we will hunt you down, find you, and lock you up," she wrote.
Critical media sources have nicknamed Noem "ICE Barbie" for her frequent appearances and the way she dresses, but she is not giving them any heed.
"These stupid, sexist criticisms are garbage,"she wrote on social media. "While insecure, insignificant, and idiotic people decide to personally attack me, I’ll just be over here helping President Trump make America safe again."
Messaging from Noem and other Trump officials like border czar Tom Homan has clearly gotten out to some of its intended audience--potential illegal border crossers.
Leaked data from Customs and Border Protection shows that so far in February, an average of 359 illegal immigrants have been caught trying to cross the border.
That is down more than 90% since Trump took over as President.
If numbers remain this low, it could be the lowest numbers in almost 60 years.
That's "almost a lifetime,” executive director at the Center for Immigration Studies Mark Krikorian told the New York Post.
A new docuseries about the murder of social media influencer Gabby Petito by her boyfriend Brian Laundrie in 2021 revealed that Petito texted an ex-boyfriend, Jackson, that she wanted to leave Laundrie but was afraid of what he would do.
The docuseries, which was recently released to Netflix, "American Murder: Gabby Petito," contains previously unseen text messages from Petito, Laundrie and her mother Roberta.
It also has new interviews with family members and friends, including Jackson.
"She wasn’t sure of what he would do, or what he could do," he told docuseries directors/producers Julia Willoughby Nason and Michael Gasparro.
Besides the text messages to Jackson, Petito also texted her mother just before the murder to say she thought she might do better vlogging on her own without Laundrie.
Petito's parents cooperated with the docuseries as well as creating a foundation to help other domestic violence victims.
"Looking at her text messages with Brian for the first time, knowing that he had murdered her was haunting because it was like the manipulation… was very subtle.," Nason said. "And I think that we're hoping that this series can show the subtlety of intimate partner abuse, especially among young people."
On the day authorities believe Gabby was murdered, Laundrie argued with the staff at a Tex-Mex restaurant where he and Petito ate after she said she felt sick and believed the food was responsible.
Hours later, Petito was seen alive for the last time on surveillance camera outside a Whole Foods in Wyoming.
She reportedly tried to call Jackson, but he was working and missed the call.
In a last text message to her mother, she said Laundrie had agreed to sleep outside that night while she slept in the van they were camping in.
Laundrie was never arrested for Petito's murder because police did not find the body until after he had killed himself.
The Gabby Petito Foundation is already getting feedback that people have gotten out of abusive relationships after hearing her story.
"This is how the foundation is helping," Gasparro said. "They've become a resource for people like this."

Is it a harmless celebrity book-reading for young children, or is there a darker side tied to child sex trafficking?
Actress Jennifer Garner is coming under fire online after posting a video clip of herself reading the book "Secret Pizza Party" to young children at a Save the Children-sponsored event in Yakima, Washington.
One commenter on X said of the actress noted for "Alias" and "Catch Me If You Can": "Hollywood actress elitist Jennifer Garner has left many of her fans disturbed after uploading a video of herself reading a book titled Secret Pizza Party to children at a Save the Children event, which is currently under investigation for child sex trafficking. The book Secret Pizza Party instructs children to keep secrets."
One passage from the book about a thieving raccoon states: "I know what you're thinking. Why would we keep such a delicious, delicious party a secret? Okay, sure. It's so folks don't show up to bonk you with brooms, but that's not the only reason. When you make something secret, you make it special."
In October, Save the Children had five of its regional offices in Guatelemala raided by police as part of an investigation into alleged child abuse.
BBC News reported: "Save the Children said it was 'aware of the activity' at their offices, and denied the prosecutors' allegations.
"The prosecutor in charge of the case, Rafael Curruchiche, and the country's attorney general, Consuelo Porras, have previously been sanctioned by the United States and the European Union for attacks on democracy. …
"In a statement to the BBC, Save the Children said it was collaborating with authorities but that it has 'never facilitated any transfer of children or adolescents out of Guatemala.'"
Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio also came under fire for reading the book to children in 2016.
"The book was neither fun nor cute," mom Jen Bee wrote on Amazon, reported the New York Daily News. "Yeah, that's not what I want to teach my child. It sounds like something a pedophile would say to their victim."
Other commenters reacting to Jennifer Garner's reading to children stated:
"A book teaching kids to keep secrets at an event tied to an investigation? Hollywood always tells on itself … people just need to pay attention."
"This raises serious concerns. Organizations tied to such allegations must be fully investigated, no exceptions. Children's safety comes first – no elite status should shield anyone from accountability.
"Hollywood needs to be leveled never to be rebuilt. Disgusting demons."
"She is a good person, they probably said here is the book you will read. I'm betting she knew nothing about what they were under investigation for. It's a shame because she does a lot of good for people. Hate to see her name get smeared."
"Jennifer Garner reading a book about 'keeping secrets' at a Save the Children event tied to a child trafficking investigation is beyond disturbing. The fact that she's still pushing this while the organization is under scrutiny is all you need to know about Hollywood's priorities."
"Either that or she is a dim bulb in the chandelier of intellect."
"She has trans children who have trans friends- that's all you need to know about how fit she is to be in a position of influence over children."

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, a member of the extreme left "Squad" in Congress and a Democrat from New York, should be investigated by the federal government for impeding its work.
That's according to President Donald Trump's border czar Tom Homan.
It seems that AOC ordered her congressional office to hold a webinar to teach illegal aliens about their legal rights and how they can avoid being deported under Trump's campaign to secure the border and remove illegal alien criminals.
The so-called "Know Your Rights with ICE" scheme was online Tuesday, orchestrated by Cortez's office and lawyers with the Immigrant Defense Project.
And on her website is a warning to illegals: "You do not have to open the door" for ICE agents, and that they don't have the right to enter a home without a warrant signed by a judge.
"You can ask them to slip the warrant under the door," the flyer states.
She also lists pro-bono lawyers in New York, because immigrants have a right to remain silent and a right to a lawyer.
Homan suggested that all may amount to more than just friendly counsel.
He was asked about the situation by Laura Ingraham on Fox News.
"I sent an email today to the deputy attorney general. At what level is that impediment? Is that impediment? I'm not an attorney. I'm not a prosecutor. Is that impediment? Is that impeding our law enforcement efforts. If so, what are we going to do about it? Is she crossing the line? I'm working with the Department of Justice and finding out where is that line that they cross. So maybe AOC is going to be in trouble now, but I need the ALG to opine on that because there's an impediment. It's an impediment, in my opinion. I'm not a prosecutor, but we need some further guidance on that. But again, if we have to take every federal dollar out of the city, we'll do it. I mean, we're done," he said.
He went on, explaining how this is about public safety.
"This is about community safety. Knowingly releasing a public safety back in the public, it's just stupid. You're putting the public at great risk. You're putting our officers at great risk. You're even putting the illegal alien at great risk because anything can happen on arrest on the street. We just want to make common sense."
The Department of Justice has requested that a federal district court drop its corruption charges with prejudice against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Attorney General Pam Bondi, who was recently confirmed by the Senate, said on Friday that the September corruption charges against Adams were going to be dismissed later in the day.
In the official request, DOJ lawyers wrote, "The United States respectfully submits this motion seeking dismissal without prejudice of the charges in this case, with leave of the Court."
This would effectively end the corruption case against Adams which was pushed aggressively by the previous Biden administration after Adams began complaining about the impacts of Biden's open border policies on New York City.
Adams quickly claimed that the corruption investigation was a political hitjob designed to punish him for speaking out against Biden and the Trump administration seems to agree.
Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove explained that the Trump administration has an interest in shutting down the political indictment against Adams in order to accomplish greater objectives as well as create a useful ally.
Ending the questionable investigation into Adams gives the Trump administration a friend in an otherwise extremely unfriendly Democrat state.
Bove explained on Friday "that continuing these proceedings would interfere with the defendant’s ability to govern in New York City, which poses unacceptable threats to public safety, national security, and related federal immigration initiatives and policies."
Bove also noted that the indictment against Adams "improperly interfered” with his reelection campaign as well as the aforementioned issues with tackling “illegal immigration and violent crime."
Adams is essentially going to ensure that the Trump administration's agenda will not be opposed in New York City and in return the DOJ is shutting the indictment down.
This has spawned a flurry of outraged responses from Democrats who want to see Trump's immigration agenda opposed. There has also been a flurry of resignations at the District Court for the Southern District of New York.
President Trump himself likely won't shed tears over the resignations at the SDNY as New York's court system has already proven its corruption in the indictments that Trump himself had to defeat prior to the 2024 presidential election.
So the news that interim attorney Danielle Sassoon and many others had resigned in protest to the DOJ's decision to request charges against Adams be dismissed is another win for Trump.
Democrats who weaponized the DOJ for years are now complaining that the Trump administration is killing a blatantly political indictment that was designed to silence a critic of the Biden administration
This is a new era for America under Trump and the rules of the game have changed after four years of chaos and kangaroo courts.
As President Trump seeks to finally end the government's secrecy surrounding President John F. Kennedy's assassination, the Republican lawmaker tasked with uncovering the truth has shared a shocking claim.
Florida Republican Anna Paulina Luna, the head of Trump's new task force on government secrets, endorsed the theory that multiple gunmen were involved in the horrific murder.
"I believe that there were two shooters, and we should be finding more information as we are able to," she said.
Although decades have gone by since the assassination, the federal government has long been reluctant to share all of the records it has, fueling speculation of a cover-up.
In order to bring transparency to this pivotal event, President Trump signed an executive order to declassify all of the remaining files, while also ordering a full declassification of the assassinations of Senator Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr.
Within days of Trump's command, the FBI made the stunning discovery of 2,400 additional, previously unidentified files on JFK's murder.
The availability of new information has led to anticipation that one of the greatest mysteries in American history could finally be solved.
Decades after the assassination, most Americans remain doubtful that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. Some of the most common conspiracy theories point to the involvement of the CIA, the mob, or Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
Kennedy was shot in the head while passing through downtown Dallas, Texas in his motorcade on November 22, 1963. The shocking event was unwittingly captured on a home video camera by a bystander.
After a ten-month investigation, the Warren Commission concluded that 24-year-old Oswald shot Kennedy twice from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository as Kennedy passed by through Dealey Plaza.
Oswald, a communist sympathizer who spent time living in the Soviet Union, denied killing JFK and claimed he was a scapegoat. Two days after the assassination, Oswald was shot dead on live TV by Texas nightclub owner Jack Ruby.
One of the most heavily debated questions concerns the number of shots that struck Kennedy. Conspiracy theorists have often rejected the Warren Commission's conclusions about the bullet that exited Kennedy's throat - labeled the "magic bullet" because of its supposedly improbable flight path - to suggest multiple shooters were involved.
According to Luna, Trump's task force will hold its first hearing in March. She said witnesses could include people who were in the operating room as Kennedy died.
"In previous investigations, they didn't have access to the information that we are going to have access to, and so that's a big deal, especially if you're looking at what truly happened with JFK," Luna said.
Kristi Noem has hired longtime Trump operative Corey Lewandowski, her alleged former lover, to work for her at the Department of Homeland Security.
The hiring decision was reported by Politico, which said Lewandowski is a "special government employee" at the federal agency tasked with overseeing President Trump's mass deportations policy.
"Like Elon Musk and so many other patriots, Mr. Lewandowski volunteers his time as a special government employee (SGE) to help President Trump Make America Great Again," a DHS spokesperson said in a statement.
Lewandowski was Trump's first campaign manager in 2016, famously coining the mantra "Let Trump Be Trump." After several years out of the spotlight, the Trump ally made a surprising return last year, joining Trump's historic re-election campaign as a senior adviser in August.
Rumors of Noem's connection with Lewandowski were first reported during Biden's presidency, with the pair reportedly traveling together and showing affection in public.
According to an upcoming book from journalist Alex Isenstadt, Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump's Return To Power, the affair was an open secret by the time Trump sought re-election in 2020. When Trump ran again in 2024, Noem's ties to Lewandowski became a concern as she auditioned to be Trump's vice president.
"Within Trumpworld, people had long gossiped that Noem had been having a prolonged extramarital affair with Corey Lewandowski," Isenstadt wrote.
"They were together all the time, and Lewandowski followed the governor around like a puppy dog."
Indeed, Trump was aware of the relationship and would joke that Lewandowski had a "girlfriend" who was "out of his league."
Whatever the truth of the affair rumors, Noem's continued close involvement with an alleged paramour could raise more questions about her judgment after she killed her VP hopes with comments about shooting an "untrainable" dog.
According to Isenstadt, Noem's remarks bothered Trump, who told his son Donald Jr., an avid hunter, "Even you wouldn’t kill a dog, and you kill everything."
As the public face of Trump's immigration crackdown, Noem is already in the spotlight, and any distractions from her mission are sure to be unwelcome at the White House.
But Noem maintains her innocence, dismissing Isenstadt's reporting as nothing but "fiction."
"As I have said many times, the allegation of an affair is completely false. She never had conversations with President Trump or his team about a nonexistent affair," her spokesperson said in a statement.
While the Senate has almost finished confirming President Trump's Cabinet, his nominees aren't clear of controversy yet - as one of his top aides faces fresh scrutiny over an alleged affair.
According to Politico, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has hired Corey Lewandowski, the longtime Trump operative and former Trump campaign manager. As reported by the Daily Mail, Noem and Lewandowski have an alleged romantic history.
It's a potentially unwelcome distraction for the White House as Noem is tasking with implementing one of Trump's most important missions - the mass deportation of illegal aliens.
A report in Politico said that Lewandowski has quietly joined the DHS as a "special government employee," an informal status also shared by Elon Musk.
"Like Elon Musk and so many other patriots, Mr. Lewandowski volunteers his time as a special government employee (SGE) to help President Trump Make America Great Again," a DHS spokesperson said in a statement.
The hire is certain to raise eyebrows given Lewandowski's alleged past with his new boss.
The rumors of the affair first emerged in American Greatness in 2021, with Noem dismissing the reports as a "disgusting lie" at the time.
Later reports in Daily Mail and New York Post said their relationship was an open secret, with the pair often seen sharing affection together in public.
Noem was widely seen as a contender to be Trump's vice president in 2024, but her odds fell sharply after comments she made in a book about shooting an aggressive dog. Her alleged affair may also have damaged her political hopes, according to reporter Alex Isenstadt, who writes about the tryst in his upcoming book Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump's Return To Power.
Trump advisers noticed Lewandowski hanging around Noem "like a puppy dog," and Trump would joke that Lewandowski had a "girlfriend."
"Lewandowski, Trump said, knew how to bat out of his league,” Isenstadt writes.
Both Noem and Lewandowski remain married to their respective spouses. Noem has been married to her husband, Bryon, since 1992 and Lewandowski tied the knot with his wife Alison in 2005.
Lewandowski became known in 2016 as Trump's first campaign manager, with Lewandowski coining the mantra "Let Trump Be Trump" in support of Trump's brash political style.
Trump fired Lewandowski a month before the Republican convention, but he remained in the president's orbit and made a shocking return last year, joining Trump's re-election campaign in August as a senior advisor.
While Noem missed out on the VP role, Trump nominated her to one of his most high-profile Cabinet positions, tasking her with overseeing his sweeping crackdown on mass immigration at the DHS.
The FBI has found new documents about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, as President Trump pushes to bring full transparency to one of the most scrutinized events in U.S. history.
After Trump signed an executive order to declassify all documents about the shooting, the FBI said it identified 2,400 new records in a search.
“The search resulted in approximately 2,400 newly inventoried and digitized records that were previously unrecognized as related to the JFK assassination case file,” the bureau said in a statement.
The government has long resisted transparency into the assassination, which has helped fuel speculation of a cover-up. Sources told Axios that efforts are still underway to block out details of the new files.
"When POTUS hears about this stonewalling, he's gonna hit the roof," a White House official told Axios.
During his first term, Trump released nearly 3,000 records about the assassination but withheld others after consulting with the CIA.
While a 1992 law required all records about the assassination to be released by 2017, about 3,000 files remain under wraps.
The details of the what the new records contain were not shared with Axios, which first reported that 14,000 pages were uncovered.
"This is huge. It shows the FBI is taking this seriously," said Jefferson Morley, an expert on the assassination and vice president of the Mary Ferrell Foundation. "The FBI is finally saying, 'Let's respond to the president's order,' instead of keeping the secrecy going."
The significance of the new documents is unknown, but they may shed light on George Joannides, a CIA officer based in Miami who led a group of Cuban exiles who had encounters with Oswald before Kennedy's assassination. Joannides was later accused of misleading a 1978 House committee that investigated the assassination.
"The Joannides file sounds exactly like the newly discovered FBI files," Morley said. "It's something assassination-related that was never turned over to the Archives."
Trump's executive order calls for full transparency into the assassinations of Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King, Jr.
President Kennedy was assassinated while riding in his motorcade through Dallas, Texas in November 1963, in one of the most shocking moments in American history.
The Warren Commission established that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone shooter, but conspiracy theories have persisted for decades since.
A 2023 Gallup poll found that a majority of Americans believe Kennedy was murdered as part of a wider conspiracy.
