Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) made waves by making the insane claim that Trump administration officials should be arrested for "kidnapping."
During an appearance Friday on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” Raskin argued that because rogue leftist judges are being arrested for aiding and abetting illegal immigrants, Trump officials should also be arrested for “interfering with a legal proceeding” or “kidnapping.”
Raskin's statements come after federal authorities arrested Judge Hannah Dugan in Wisconsin for aiding illegal immigrants avoid immigration officers who had a warrant for their arrest.
Raskin stated, "Now they’re arresting judges, and the first felony criminal charge brought against Judge Hannah Dugan in Wisconsin is interfering with a legal proceeding, which is essentially what they’ve been doing all along. What Judge Boasberg is about to hold them in criminal contempt for and has found that there is probable cause for criminal contempt is that they deliberately ignored and defied his order not to take off in those airplanes headed for El Salvador and not turning the airplanes around."
On the face of it, this statement makes no sense, but it is very likely that Democrats are going to press this issue heavily as they attempt to thwart President Donald Trump's bold immigration agenda.
Raskin's assertion that Trump officials are guilty of "interfering with a legal proceeding” or “kidnapping" is entirely baseless and draws from the doomed movement to hold Trump officials in contempt of court for deporting illegal immigrants.
Raskin claimed in his interview with Maddow that, "They have been disobeying federal court orders systematically. They have incurred criminal contempt findings in the courtroom of Judge Boasberg, a conservative Republican, a judge. They have been demanding the impeachment of judges who rule against the lawlessness of the Trump administration."
For the record, Judge Boasberg was appointed by former President Barack Obama, which immediately throws Raskin's assertion that he is a conservative into a dubious light.
Furthermore, Judge Boasberg's attempts to hold Trump officials in contempt of court for failing to abide by an order they could never uphold show that he is an ideological opponent of the conservative movement.
Judge Boasberg attempted to order flights to El Salvador carrying violent illegal immigrants to turn around, but this was simply impossible. His attempt to push contempt of court charges was quickly shut down by a higher court.
Raskin ignored this higher order in arguing that the Trump administration should be held in criminal contempt. It's no surprise to see a Democrat ignoring evidence in order to push an absurd narrative against the Trump administration.
Trump's immigration agenda and deportation of violent illegal immigrants are massively popular with regular Americans, but that hasn't stopped activist judges from stonewalling and slowing down Trump's agenda at every turn.
So far, two judges have been arrested for openly thwarting a legal arrest of illegal immigrants and have already been canonized by the left for their valiant efforts in protecting illegal immigrants, who often are a threat to the American people.
Thankfully, the Trump administration is working to hold those rogue judges accountable, and the Supreme Court will likely have a large role to play in reining in these activist judges who care more about illegal immigrants than the safety of the American people.
Former Rep. George Santos has been sentenced to seven years in prison for identity theft and wire fraud, The Guardian reported. The disgraced New York Republican sobbed when his sentence was read and claimed he was "humbled."
The 36-year-old emerged as a pathological liar during his congressional campaign and in the only year he ever served. Last summer, he threw himself at the mercy of the Long Island court when he pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft and federal wire fraud.
"I offer my deepest apologies. I cannot rewrite the past, but I can control the road ahead," Santos said.
U.S. District Court Judge Joanna Seybert was unimpressed. "Where is your remorse? Where do I see it?" Seybert said. She chided Santos for demonstrating that he feels "it’s always someone else’s fault" when sentencing him to 87 months behind bars.
During proceedings, Santos admitted to stealing identities to funnel money to his campaign, including from his family members. The openly gay politician spent that money on the pornography site OnlyFans, Botox treatments, luxury vacations, and other high-ticket items.
Santos was a notorious liar, and prosecutors said his guilty plea was a rare instance of him telling the truth. "For what may seem like the first time since he started his campaign for Congress, Mr Santos told the truth about his criminal schemes," Breon Peace, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, said in a statement.
"He admitted to lying, stealing, and conning people. By pleading guilty, Mr Santos has acknowledged that he repeatedly defrauded federal and state government institutions as well as his own family, supporters, and constituents," Peace added.
"His flagrant and disgraceful conduct has been exposed and will be punished. Mr Santos’s conviction demonstrates this office’s enduring commitment to rooting out corruption and grift by public officials," Peace said.
Santos took to social media to complain about his prosecution, saying he was a "scapegoat" that was being pursued by the "cabal of pedophiles" in the Department of Justice. Besides time in prison, Santos will pay $373,749.97 in restitution and forfeit $205,002.97.
It seems Santos was unable to tell the truth about anything in his public life. He lied about attending New York University. According to CNN, he claimed he was "half Jewish" and that he was a "Latino Jew" when speaking to the media.
He said that his grandparents became Catholic to escape the Nazi invasion in Belgium after already surviving Joseph Stalin's regime in the Soviet Union. Alternatively, he also claimed that his Ukrainian maternal grandfather emigrated to Brazil during the Nazi regime.
However, there was never any proof of any of this in the genealogy records, even his alleged Jewish heritage. Santos also claimed that his mother died "a few years after" 9/11, after surviving the attacks, ABC News reported.
Santos said that she "was in her office in the South Tower on September 11, 2001, when the horrific events of that day unfolded." Unfortunately for him, there are records show that show his mother wasn't even in New York at the time of the attacks.
Regardless of political party, Santos is a disgrace for his lies and crimes. Although some believe seven years is excessive, the sentencing is well within the bounds of the law for a man who so flagrantly commits such misdeeds.
A leftist protester vandalized President Trump's golden "45" plaque at Trump Tower in New York, prompting police to shut down the iconic Fifth Avenue building.
Nathaniel Smith, 36, spray-painted "USA" in graffiti over the presidential insignia inside the lobby before kneeling on the floor and closing his eyes, as onlookers filmed on their smartphones.
Moments later, Smith unfurled a banner that read, "Game Over," as a security guard approached and told him to leave.
The man started shouting about global warming as he was led away by a group of police officers in suits.
The scene caused mixed reactions. One man swore in disgust and shook his head, while another man in a backpack told officers not to touch Smith and repeatedly asked them to share their names and badge numbers.
After the protester was led out, a police officer told the crowd that the building would be closed.
The protester was with the radical environmental group Extinction Rebellion, which is known for vandalizing landmarks to draw attention.
Smith, of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with making graffiti, possession of a graffiti instrument and criminal tampering. According to the New York Post, he has a prior arrest for criminal trespass at Columbia University.

Secret Service was not involved in the arrest, but they said they are "aware of an incident involving a person spray painting graffiti inside the public lobby of Trump Tower in New York City.”
“There are no disruptions to protective operations,” spokesperson James Byrne said. “We thank the NYPD for their immediate response and unwavering partnership.”
Trump Tower was Trump's main residence and business headquarters for decades before he entered politics. The building houses Trump's opulent penthouse and the headquarters of the Trump Organization.
While Trump no longer lives there full-time, the iconic Midtown skyscraper continues to attract Trump fans, as well as protesters looking to start trouble.
Dozens of pro-Palestine protesters were arrested in March for occupying the Trump Tower lobby in support of Columbia graduate and activist Mahmoud Khalil.
Trump famously declared his historic 2016 presidential campaign in the lobby of Trump Tower after a ride down his golden escalator.

It was only days ago that the Washington Examiner editorialized about the affinity Democrats have for violence.
Really bad violence.
The report noted more than half of Americans who "identify as 'left of center'" think assassinating President Donald Trump is 'justifiable."
"That's what a new study from Rutgers University has found. According to the survey produced by the university's Social Perception Lab that asked 1,264 U.S. citizens about their attitudes toward political violence, 55% of all self-identifying 'liberals' believe killing the president is a justifiable means of pursuing their political goals."
The Examiner explained, "This is the fruit of hysteria that Democratic politicians and their allies in the news media have nurtured in their followers for the past eight years. This is a political faction that considers 'misgendering' to be 'literal violence,' but it is one also building an assassination culture."
The attitude really isn't that new. Fox News reported months ago that Democrats' violent rhetoric was exploding.
That conclusion followed two assassination attempts against Trump during his campaign in 2024, including one in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a bullet nicked his ear.
Trump has said he thinks God allowed him to escape that assassination attempt so that he could be president and help America.
That violent rhetoric included comments from both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris that Trump is a "threat" to democracy.
One Democrat, Rep. Dan Goldman, a Democrat, said Trump is so dangerous he "has to be eliminated," and then quickly apologized.
Now, those circumstances have drawn from Victor Davis Hanson, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, a warning about what result the circumstances could produce:
He said, "So, they are lowering the bar on what's permissible. And we're going to see something like we saw with these two assassination [attempts]. I don't want to predict it; I hope it never happens."
He added, according to the Daily Caller News Foundation, "But if they keep this language up and you start to see polls that say 50% of self-identified leftists think it's okay to shoot, and you see them romanticizing a assassin [allegedly] like [Luigi] Mangione, and you see them go fund an alleged murderer like Karmelo Anthony and basically saying that he was a victim and you see this [alleged] MS-13 wife beater who was pulled over for trafficking and let go and was found — yes, everybody, he was found by a immigration judge to have MS-13 ties. Even his wife did not deny it. She didn't deny that she was beaten by him either."
He explained that the result is a growing risk of more assassination attempts against the president.
In light of the Democrats' popularity being assessed as low as 27%, he said, there will be desperation.
"I'm just watching this and I see that the more impotent they are and the less actual power they wield, and the less the public likes them — if you look at the polls of the Democratic Party, 29%, 27%, one poll I think was 23% approval — they react to that by being crazier and more strident and upping the, you know, not just 'fascist,' but the other day [Democratic Texas Rep.] Jasmine Crockett said that Trump was like worse than the MS-13 gang member, you know."
In fact, Crockett claimed she believed alleged MS-13 member Kilmar Abrego Garcia was "less criminal" than Trump, the report explained.
Hanson said being created is a "climate of fear and legitimizing violence, and something's going to happen."

The U.S. Department of Justice has just escalated its battle against members of Tren de Aragua, a violent Venezuelan terrorist organization that has moved into America and "destroyed American families with brutal violence … [and] human trafficking."
Explained U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, on the filing of organized crime charges against 27 gang members, "As alleged, Tren de Aragua is not just a street gang – it is a highly structured terrorist organization that has destroyed American families with brutal violence, engaged in human trafficking, and spread deadly drugs through our communities. Today's indictments and arrests span three states and will devastate TdA's infrastructure as we work to completely dismantle and purge this organization from our country."
Matthew Podolsky, the acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, filed the cases against 27 individuals, and said, "Today, we have filed charges against 27 alleged members, former members, and associates of Tren de Aragua, for committing murders and shootings, forcing young women trafficked from Venezuela into commercial sex work, robbing and extorting small businesses, and selling 'tusi,' a pink powdery drug that has become their calling card. Today's Indictments make clear that this office will work tirelessly to keep the law-abiding residents of New York City safe, and hold accountable those who bring violence to our streets."
The charges were listed in two superseding indictments that named the individuals, and alleged "racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking conspiracy, drug trafficking conspiracy, robbery, and firearms offenses."
"Of the 27 defendants, 21 are in federal custody, including 16 who were already in federal criminal, immigration, or state custody and five who were arrested last night and today in operations in New York and other jurisdictions," the federal announcement said.
Border czar Tom Homan said: "Every member of TdA should be on the run because the Trump administration is committed to removing every single member of TdA and MS-13 from this country."
Todd M. Lyons, acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said, "We are at the forefront of efforts to identify, disrupt and dismantle transnational criminal gangs like Tren de Aragua from operating in our cities and around the world."
"Tren de Aragua is one of the most dangerous gangs in the country, and the NYPD has taken significant action to shut down their operations in New York City. For the first time ever, TdA is being named and charged as the criminal enterprise that it is. This isn't just street crime—it's organized racketeering, and this gang has shown zero regard for the safety of New Yorkers. As alleged in the indictment, these defendants wreaked havoc in our communities, trafficking women for sexual exploitation, flooding our streets with drugs, and committing violent crimes with illegal guns," explained NYPD Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch.
The charges allege TdA is a "criminal organization" and works to build its own power through "acts involving murder, assault, robbery, other acts of violence, and threats of violence, including acts of violence and threats of violence directed at former members and associates of TdA who associated with a splinter organization known as Anti-Tren."
Also cited are activities including smuggling individuals, "including young women from Venezuela, into Peru and the U.S." for "sex trafficking."
Part of the gang's operations include terrorizing victims and potential victims, defending its members caught committing crimes and concealing criminal activities.
The DOJ announcement included a long list of names and an even longer list of aliases.
"This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Justice Department to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department's Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN). In February 2025, Tren de Aragua was designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization," the announcement said.

At the height of the COVID-19 China virus assault on Americans, then-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, ordered nursing homes to take in patients who had been diagnosed with infections, putting ill seniors in the midst of a population that was susceptible to COVID.
Not surprisingly, the death toll exploded, and during the resulting investigation, Cuomo testified to Congress.
And allegedly lied, for which a House committee referred him to the Department of Justice for investigation and prosecution.
The Joe Biden administration ignored it.
So now House Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., is asking the DOJ to revisit those charges.
Comer wrote that the original referral was in 2024 from the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic and Cuomo was referred for "making criminally false statements…"
"The Biden administration ignored this referral despite clear facts and evidence," he said. "Accordingly, we request you review the referral and take appropriate action."
Even a devout leftist, New York Attorney General Letitia James, who orchestrated multiple cases against President Donald Trump, confirmed that Cuomo had misstated the COVID-related deaths in state nursing homes, by some 83%.
That scandal erupted in 2021 when the New York Post said Melissa DeRosa, an aide to Cuomo, privately apologized to lawmakers for state officials "withholding the nursing-home death toll in fear then-President Donald Trump would 'turn this into a giant political football,'" one report documented.
After Cuomo ordered the open doors policy for nursing homes, it is estimated that some 4,500 infected patients were moved into those facilities, with their COVID-susceptible populations.
A public policy center found that Cuomo's order was "associated with a statistically significant increase in resident deaths."
Comer has charged Cuomo "knowingly and willfully made false statements to Congress" about his own state's claim that underreported COVID deaths in New York nursing homes.
House members charged Cuomo was trying to avoid accountability for a surge in nursing home deaths, and for that reason lied to Congress about the situation.
"Andrew Cuomo is a man with a history of corruption and deceit, now caught red-handed lying to Congress during the Select Subcommittee's investigation into the COVID-19 nursing home tragedy in New York," Comer said. "This wasn't a slip-up — it was a calculated cover-up by a man seeking to shield himself from responsibility for the devastating loss of life in New York's nursing homes."
Investigations revealed more than 15,000 nursing home residents died due to COVID-19 during that time period.
Cuomo eventually resigned his office following a series of accusations that he sexually harassed many women.

Police in Minneapolis are expressing their anger that, after they investigated vandalism done to multiple Tesla cars, identified a perpetrator and provided all the evidence, the local prosecutor is refusing to file criminal charges.
The case involves Dylan Bryan Adams, an aide to Gov Tim Walz, who was caught on video damaging the cars, apparently part of a nationwide wave of people deciding to vandalize other citizens' vehicles because they dislike the car company owner, Elon Musk, who is working with President Donald Trump to find fraud, corruption and waste in the federal government and remove it.
A statement from police said, "The Minneapolis Police Department did its job. It identified and investigated a crime trend, identified, and arrested a suspect, and presented a case file to the Hennepin County Attorney Office for consideration of charges. This case impacted at least six different victims and totaled over $20,000 in damages. Any frustration related to the charging decision of the Hennepin County Attorney should be directed solely at her office. Our investigators are always frustrated when the cases they poured their hearts into are declined. In my experience, the victims in these cases often feel the same."
A report in the Gateway Pundit turned blunt, explaining, "Soros-backed Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty will not seek criminal charges for the Tim Walz staffer who vandalized at least six Teslas in Minnesota, causing $20,000 in damage."
Instead, officials in the office for the leftist-funded leftist prosecutor said they will seek a "diversion" in the case.
A spokesman said, "Our main priorities are to secure restitution for the victims and hold Mr. Adams accountable. As a result, we will file for pre-charge diversion to best facilitate both of those goals."
Previously reported was that Adams, a fiscal policy analyst for Walz, "was captured on vehicle surveillance footage allegedly dragging a key across the exteriors of several Teslas, stripping paint and causing thousands of dollars in damage."
A purse snatcher allegedly made off with $3,000 cash and other personal items belonging to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Fox News reported. A masked man stole Noem's bag Sunday night, which included the money, her driver's license, keys, passport, blank checks, and DHS badge.
The alleged crime happened as Noem dined with her family in a Washington, D.C., restaurant on Easter Sunday. The city is known for its theft problem, even as violent crime hit a historic low last year.
A spokesperson claimed the dinner and other holiday-related expenses explained the large sum of cash in her bag. "Her entire family was in town, including her children and grandchildren – she was using the withdrawal to treat her family to dinner, activities, and Easter gifts," the spokesperson said.
Still, it's unclear how this crime occurred, as Noem has a Secret Service detail. The investigation is ongoing, but so far, there are more questions than answers.
Committing burglary against a high-ranking government official shows a severe lack of security in the nation's capital. President Donald Trump was already urging Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser to do something about the problems, including homeless encampments and other crimes.
Trump said that the city should be "the pride of every American to who it belongs" but that Bowers and other politicians need to beef up law enforcement. "Washington, D.C., must become CLEAN and SAFE again!" Trump wrote on his Truth Social account last month.
"We need our Great Police back on the street, with no excuses from the Mayor, or anyone else. The House should take up the D.C. funding 'fix' that the Senate has passed, and get it done IMMEDIATELY," Trump urged.
"We need to clean up our once beautiful Capital City, and make it beautiful again. We will be TOUGH ON CRIME, like never before," the president added.
"I will work with the Mayor on this and, if it does not happen, will have no choice but to do it myself. Washington, D.C., will be better, safer, and more beautiful than ever before!" Trump wrote.
Still, Trump's call to arms didn't come soon enough for Noem. According to CNN, the fact that a white mask-wearing man could take her things raises serious concerns, the network's law enforcement analyst, Jonathan Wackrow, said.
“This is a security breach that actually has high consequences, and it needs immediate and further review by the Secret Service, DHS, and other law enforcement partners. If necessary, the Secret Service will need to make operational changes on how they deal with these types of private events moving forward," Wackrow told Kaitlan Collins on The Source.
The former Secret Service agent pointed out that Noem is "at higher risk for targeted threats, both by foreign and domestic actors, and just her public profile alone makes her a symbolic target." Meanwhile, one user on X, formerly Twitter, likened the Secret Service's failure to an excuse made about why it also failed to secure the roof where a would-be assassin perched to fire at Trump during a July rally.

How this thief managed to get past the Secret Service and take her personal items is certainly puzzling. There seems to be more to this story than a simple purse snatching, but so far there has been no additional information provided.
A Democratic judge from New Mexico has resigned after an illegal alien with ties to a Venezuelan gang was arrested at the judge's home.
Christhian Ortega-Lopez, 23, is an alleged member of Tren De Aragua, which the Trump administration considers a terrorist organization. Ortega-Lopez was charged with illegal gun possession after an arrest February at the home of Dona Ana County, New Mexico, Magistrate Judge Joel Cano and his wife, Nancy.
The judge announced his resignation in a letter dated March 3, which listed his last day as March 21, Albuquerque Journal reported.
“Working with each of you has been a very rewarding experience for which I will remain eternally grateful,” Cano wrote to his colleagues.
Prosecutors shared details of Judge Cano's unusual relationship with Ortega-Lopez, who posed with the judge, a former cop, in photos shared on social media. Judge Cano even let Ortega-Lopez list Cano's address while fighting deportation.
Photos and videos obtained by New Mexico prosecutors also show Ortega-Lopez displaying Tren De Aragua tattoos and shooting firearms that he obtained from the judge's daughter, April Cano.
Additionally, according to Breitbart, Ortega-Lopez's cell phone "showed graphic images of multiple decapitated and mutilated bodies."
The Venezuelan national met the Cano family after he entered the United States illegally as part of the Biden-era alien influx in Eagle Pass, Texas. Ortega-Lopez was "paroled" into the U.S. due to overcrowding, after which he moved to El Paso, where he lived with five roommates.
While working construction jobs, he met Nancy Cano, who offered to let him live in a casita behind her house in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
In April 2024, Ortega-Lopez applied for relief from deportation, listing the Cano residence in his paperwork. Around this time, he met April Cano, who "possessed a large number of firearms” and “allowed him to hold and sometimes shoot various firearms," according to prosecutors.
On February 28, 2025, federal authorities executed a search warrant at the home of Joel and Nancy Cano, and Ortega-Lopez was arrested along with several roommates. He was charged with being an unlawful alien in possession of a firearm and ammunition. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
The judge's strangely hospitable relationship with Ortega-Lopez came up during a March detention hearing. U.S. Magistrate Judge Damian Martinez said, of Cano, "I don’t think he would just let anybody live in his property.”
As of now, Ortega-Lopez is in custody without bond. Prosecutors argue that Ortega-Lopez is a flight risk and a danger to the community because of his alleged gang ties.
Cano was first elected in 2010 as magistrate judge and ran unopposed in three bids for re-election.

An ethics and accountability organization is calling for a special investigation into U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock, a Democrat from Georgia, for a sweetheart deal he enjoys: A $1 million luxury home bought for him about the time he was elected and to which he has complete access.
Without paying rent.
It is the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust that charges that Warnock is living rent-free in a home that Ebenezer Baptist Church bought in 2022 for $989,000 just as he was elected to the Senate, but he "has not included any information about being provided housing on his financial disclosure report."
He does report an annual "income" from the church of just under what the Senate determined is a maximum amount a senator can "earn" from an outside source, a limit that was about $32,000 in 2023.
In a letter to Sen James Lankford, chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Ethics, the organization said, "The rules which allow for a senator to accept lodging or housing are only applicable in a narrow set of circumstances—they are not an open-ended loophole that can be abused. Aside from the letter of the law laid out here, which is extremely clear and persuasive, this is a matter of plain common sense.
"It is difficult to fathom any citizen could look at this situation (a U.S. senator being a part-time employee of an organization that happens to buy him a million-dollar house to live in for free after he was elected to Congress, and after which he sells his own house) and not think something potentially very wrong is afoot. One must ask, if the laws written do not prohibit this particular situation or, at a bare minimum, at least merit a mere investigation, then what were they even written for? It is inarguable that the known facts do not appear to comply with the Senate ethics rules."
Implicated in the situation are ethics rules and conflicts of interest, and corruption.
"Senators must conduct themselves according to the Senate Ethics Rules and the Senate 'may discipline a member for any misconduct, including conduct or activity which does not directly relate to official duties, when such conduct unfavorably reflects on the institution as a whole.' One theme throughout federal law and Senate Ethics rules is that members may not generally accept anything of value unless an identified exception applies, and if they do accept something it must be disclosed to the public. These laws address both conflicts of interest and corruption of members of Congress. Senator Warnock's acceptance of lavish housing and failure to disclose it implicates federal law and several Senate rules," the complaint explained.
A report at the Free Beacon noted that the free home for Warnock, "came equipped with a plethora of luxury accommodations, including a 100-bottle wine fridge, a bluetooth-enabled cooking range, and remote-controlled privacy curtains."
The complaint noted the free home is "a great deal for Warnock, but it may violate Senate ethics rules that limit how much lawmakers can accept from outside employment."
"This is a matter of plain common sense," FACT executive director Kendra Arnold said in the complaint.
Possible standards being violated include the Ethics in Government Act.
Arnold explained the salary, plus the free housing appear to be "excessive and unreasonable for the services he is actually performing."
The Free Beacon explained, "Arnold's belief that Warnock's housing benefit is excessive is shared by Dr. Albert Paul Brinson, a former associate of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was ordained at Ebenezer Baptist Church by the civil rights icon in 1965. Brinson said during an interview with a local activist in March that King 'would have never endorsed' church funds being used to facilitate luxury living for its pastor. Brinson said Ebenezer Baptist Church's housing allowance was designed to provide modest accommodations for its pastors."
The report also pointed out that the church itself was involved in a scandal over housing and its costs, when, while underwriting Warnock's living arrangements, officials there "tried to evict residents during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic for as little as $28.55 in past-due rent" from a low-income apartment building the church owns.
