Brace yourself for a jaw-dropping betrayal as a once-trusted DEA official stands accused of aiding a notorious Mexican drug cartel.

Paul Campo, a former high-ranking Drug Enforcement Agency official, has been indicted by the Department of Justice on serious charges including conspiracy to commit narcoterrorism, money laundering, and aiding cocaine distribution, all tied to his alleged dealings with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), the Daily Caller reported

Campo, who stepped down from his role as Deputy Chief of the Office of Financial Operations at the DEA near the end of the previous administration, didn’t exactly retire to a quiet life of golf and gardening. Instead, the indictment claims he jumped into bed with one of the most dangerous criminal outfits in the world. Talk about a career pivot that raises eyebrows.

Unmasking a Shocking Post-Retirement Scheme

The allegations paint a grim picture of Campo’s post-DEA activities, accusing him of scheming to launder a staggering $12 million in drug trafficking profits for CJNG. It’s the kind of number that makes you wonder how someone sworn to uphold the law could allegedly flip so hard.

Campo didn’t act alone; an associate named Robert Sensi reportedly linked him with someone they thought was a CJNG operative. Turns out, that “operative” was a confidential source working under law enforcement’s watchful eye—a classic sting that caught them in the net.

The duo allegedly didn’t just stop at laundering funds; they offered advice on acquiring drones and assault rifles for the cartel. If true, this isn’t just a betrayal of public trust—it’s a direct threat to safety on both sides of the border.

Transactions, Tricks, and a Cartel Trap

According to the charges, Campo and Sensi guided the supposed cartel representative on laundering money through cryptocurrency, real estate deals, and even prepaid gift cards. They reportedly took part in three transactions totaling $750,000, thinking they were building trust with CJNG.

They even believed a third deal would trigger a $5 million cocaine shipment, expecting to pocket a cut of the profits. Greed, it seems, can blind even those who once hunted criminals for a living.

If convicted, both Campo and Sensi face the possibility of life behind bars—a fitting consequence if these allegations hold up in court. It’s a stark reminder that no one is above the law, no matter how high they once climbed.

Official Condemnation and Public Trust

DEA Administrator Terrance C. Cole didn’t mince words when addressing Campo’s alleged actions. “The alleged conduct occurred after he left DEA and was unrelated to his official duties here, but any former agent who chooses to engage in criminal activity dishonors the men and women who serve with integrity and undermines the public’s confidence in law enforcement,” Cole said in a statement. Let’s unpack that: even if Campo’s misdeeds came after his badge was retired, the stain on the agency’s reputation lingers.

“We will not look the other way simply because someone once wore this badge,” Cole continued. “There is no tolerance and no excuse for this kind of betrayal.” That’s a line in the sand conservatives can applaud—accountability must be blind to past titles.

U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton of the Southern District of New York echoed the sentiment with equal force. “By participating in this scheme, Campo betrayed the mission he was entrusted with pursuing for his 25-year career with the DEA,” Clayton stated. It’s a gut punch to see someone who spent decades fighting drugs allegedly switch teams for a payday.

Broader Implications for Border Security

CJNG isn’t just another criminal group; it’s a violent organization that’s been designated a foreign terrorist entity under executive actions focused on border security and curbing transnational crime. This case underscores why strong policies to combat cartels are non-negotiable for protecting American communities.

While progressive voices might argue for softer approaches to drug policy, stories like Campo’s remind us that cartels aren’t misunderstood entrepreneurs—they’re ruthless networks that corrupt and destroy. Conservatives must keep pushing for tough enforcement without losing sight of the human cost on all sides.

This indictment, announced on a Friday evening by Cole and Clayton, isn’t just about one man’s fall from grace; it’s a call to action to root out corruption wherever it hides. Let’s hope this case serves as a deterrent to others tempted to trade honor for dirty money, and a reminder that the fight against cartels demands unwavering resolve.

A former Drug Enforcement Administration official who rose to the rank of deputy chief of the Office of Financial Operations under Barack Obama has been raided by the FBI and now is facing charges of conspiring to launder millions of dollars for a Mexican drug cartel.

The United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York identified the suspect as Paul Campo, who along with a friend, Robert Sensi, was indicted on charges of "narcoterrorism, terrorism, narcotics distribution, and money laundering."

The announcement was made by Jay Clayton, the U.S. attorney for the district, and Terrance C. Cole, the chief of the DEA.

"As alleged, Paul Campo and Robert Sensi conspired to assist CJNG, one of the most notorious Mexican cartels that is responsible for countless deaths through violence and drug trafficking in the United States and Mexico," said U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton. As part of that support, the defendants laundered hundreds of thousands of dollars they believed to be CJNG drug proceeds, agreed to launder millions more, and even agreed to use their financial expertise to facilitate cocaine trafficking right here in New York City.

"By participating in this scheme, Campo betrayed the mission he was entrusted with pursuing for his 25-year career with the DEA. CJNG is a violent and corrupting criminal enterprise that New Yorkers want broken. I commend the extraordinary efforts of the DEA in aggressively pursuing CJNG and those who support their deadly and corrupt efforts, no matter who they may be."

CJNG is the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, or Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion.

Federal authorities charged:

CJNG is a Mexico-based transnational criminal group overseen by Nemesio Ruben "El Mencho" Oseguera-Cervantes that controls a significant portion of the narcotics trafficking trade. CJNG illicitly transports cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and other controlled substances into the United States. CJNG also engages in money laundering and other criminal activities, including acts of violence and intimidation. On February 20, 2025, the United States Secretary of State designated CJNG as a Foreign Terrorist Organization under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

PAUL CAMPO worked for the DEA for approximately 25 years, first as a Special Agent in New York and eventually rising to become a high-level DEA official, specifically the Deputy Chief of the Office of Financial Operations. CAMPO retired from DEA in or about January 2016.

In late 2024, ROBERT SENSI began meeting with a confidential source working at the direction of law enforcement ("CS-1"), who was posing as a member of CJNG. SENSI told CS-1 that he had a friend who used to be in charge of DEA's financial operations who could assist CJNG by laundering narcotics proceeds and providing CS-1 with sensitive DEA information about sources and investigations.

After these initial meetings, CAMPO and SENSI together met with CS-1 on several occasions. During these conversations, CAMPO and SENSI agreed to launder money for CS 1 by, among other things, converting cash into cryptocurrency and making investments in real estate. CAMPO and SENSI further advised CS-1 about fentanyl production and explored procuring commercial drones and military-grade weapons and equipment for CJNG, including AR-15 semi-automatic rifles, M4 carbines, M16 rifles, grenade launchers, and rocket-propelled grenades. As part of these discussions, CAMPO and SENSI often boasted about and relied heavily on CAMPO's prior federal law enforcement experience and expertise regarding financial investigations and drug cartels.

Regarding the drones, in one meeting, CS 1 explained to CAMPO, "what we do with the drones, we put explosives and we just send it over there, boom"; in another conversation, CS 1 asked SENSI how much C-4 explosive the drones could carry, to which SENSI responded, in sum and substance, approximately six kilograms, which is enough to "blow up the whole f—— . . . I don't want to say."
As part of the scheme, CAMPO and SENSI agreed to launder approximately $12,000,000 of CJNG narcotics proceeds; laundered approximately $750,000 by converting cash into cryptocurrency; and provided a payment for approximately 220 kilograms of cocaine on the understanding that the payment would trigger the distribution and sale of the narcotics worth approximately $5,000,000, for which CAMPO and SENSI would (i) receive directly a portion of the narcotics proceeds as profit; and (ii) receive a further commission upon the laundering of the balance of the narcotics proceeds.

Cole said, "The indictment of former Special Agent Paul Campo sends a powerful message: those who betray the public trust—past or present—will be held to account to the fullest extent of the law. The alleged conduct occurred after he left DEA and was unrelated to his official duties here, but any former agent who chooses to engage in criminal activity dishonors the men and women who serve with integrity and undermines the public's confidence in law enforcement. We will not look the other way simply because someone once wore this badge. There is no tolerance and no excuse for this kind of betrayal."

Campo and Sensi each face a count of conspiring to commit narcoterrorism, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years.

Other charges are conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaince, conspiring to provide material support and resources to CJNG, a desginated foreign terrorist organization, and money laundering.

In a world obsessed with quick fixes, Erika Kirk, widow of conservative titan Charlie Kirk, dropped a truth bomb at a high-profile summit, rejecting the tired narrative that guns are the root of violence.

At The New York Times DealBook Summit on Wednesday, held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, Erika, now CEO of Turning Point USA, spoke candidly about her husband’s assassination and the deeper issues plaguing society.

Fox News reported that Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist, was originally slated to speak at this prestigious event, which has hosted heavyweights like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. His tragic assassination left Erika to step into the spotlight, facing tough questions with unwavering resolve.

Interviewed by journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin, Erika didn’t shy away from the elephant in the room—gun violence in America. Sorkin pressed her on how she views the issue after such a personal loss, expecting perhaps a softened stance.

“He was a real believer, as you know, in the Second Amendment, and I'm curious how you think today about gun violence in America, given what happened to him,” Sorkin asked. Nice try, Andrew, but Erika wasn’t about to let progressive talking points frame her grief—she doubled down on her support for constitutional rights.

Far from blaming firearms, Erika pointed to a deeper malaise, arguing that violence stems from human and mental health crises, not just tools. This isn’t the surface-level drivel we’re used to hearing; it’s a call to look beyond the weapon to the wounded soul wielding it.

Addressing the Soul of the Problem

Erika’s words cut through the noise of shallow policy debates with surgical precision. “That's not a gun problem. That's a human, deeply human problem,” she insisted, highlighting a cultural failure to address mental health and moral decay.

She’s onto something—college counselors, as she noted, consistently report mental health struggles like anxiety and depression as top issues for students. If we’re serious about stopping violence, shouldn’t we start there instead of obsessing over inanimate objects?

Charlie himself understood this, often stressing to students the importance of brain health, proper rest, and self-care, according to Erika. His message wasn’t just political; it was profoundly personal, a blueprint for living well in a chaotic world.

In the wake of her husband’s murder, Erika made a bold move—she purged social media and news apps from her phone. She’s not hiding; she’s protecting her sanity, letting others filter the online vitriol while she focuses on what matters.

This echoes Charlie’s own habits, who, despite recognizing social media’s power for good and evil, made a weekly ritual of unplugging. Every Friday night, he’d stash his phone in a junk drawer, embracing family time and rest with a hearty “Shabbat Shalom.”

It’s a lesson for our always-on culture—Charlie knew life was bigger than endless notifications or petty online spats. If only more of us could ditch the digital leash for a weekend, we might rediscover what’s truly sacred.

Honoring a Legacy of Balance

Erika’s resolve to carry forward Charlie’s legacy is evident in how she speaks of his intentional balance between work and family.

He wasn’t just a public figure; he was a dad, a husband, a man who knew when to step away from the world’s clamor.

While the left might push for simplistic solutions to complex tragedies, Erika’s perspective forces us to grapple with uncomfortable truths about our society’s mental and spiritual state.

Her voice at the summit wasn’t just a widow’s lament—it was a rallying cry for deeper reflection.

Violence isn’t solved by stripping rights or slapping on Band-Aids; it’s addressed by healing broken hearts and minds, as Erika so powerfully reminded us. Let’s hope her words resonate beyond the halls of Jazz at Lincoln Center and spark a long-overdue conversation.

A suspected terrorist tied to ISIS-K has been nabbed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) right here on American soil, courtesy of a resettlement program that’s raising serious eyebrows.

Breitbart reported that this arrest of Jaan Shah Safi, an Afghan national, in Waynesboro, Virginia, on Wednesday, shines a glaring spotlight on the Biden administration’s Operation Allies Welcome, a program that resettled tens of thousands of Afghans with what critics call dangerously lax vetting.

Safi first set foot in the U.S. on Sept. 8, 2021, arriving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as part of this resettlement effort.

ICE officials have confirmed that Safi allegedly provided support to both the Islamic State of Iraq and the notorious ISIS-K, a group known for its ruthless extremism.

Adding to the alarm, reports indicate Safi supplied weapons to his father, a militia commander in Afghanistan, painting a troubling picture of his connections before arriving stateside.

After entering the U.S., Safi applied for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), but that lifeline was cut short when DHS Secretary Kristi Noem terminated TPS for Afghans, leaving him classified as an unauthorized migrant.

Multiple Incidents Tied to Resettlement Program

Speaking on the arrest, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem didn’t hold back, stating, “Today, our heroic ICE officers arrested Jaan Shah Safi, a terrorist who provided material support to ISIS-K.”

Her words cut to the core of a broader concern: how did someone with such alleged ties slip through the cracks of a program meant to offer refuge, not risk?

Noem further criticized the resettlement operation, saying, “The Biden administration brought this terrorist into the U.S. under the disastrous Operation Allies Welcome program.”

She pointed out that Safi’s arrest occurred not far from Washington, D.C., where another Afghan resettled through the same program, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, allegedly ambushed and shot two National Guardsmen last month.

Tragically, Sarah Beckstrom succumbed to her injuries, while Andrew Wolfe remains in serious condition, a stark reminder of the potential consequences of inadequate screening.

Adding fuel to the fire, yet another Afghan national, Mohammad Dawood Alokozay, resettled under the same initiative, was arrested on Nov. 25 in Fort Worth, Texas, after allegedly posting a video on TikTok hinting at plans for a terrorist attack in the area.

Calls for Accountability Grow Louder

These incidents, taken together, paint a damning portrait of a policy that, while perhaps well-intentioned, has left gaping holes in national security, according to critics like Noem who argue for a complete overhaul.

With nearly 190,000 Afghan nationals admitted under Operation Allies Welcome, as Noem noted, the scale of unvetted entries is staggering—identities and intentions often verified only after they’ve already settled in American communities.

It’s a sobering wake-up call: good intentions must be matched with ironclad safeguards, or the price paid could be far too high for our nation to bear.

It seems that America's northern neighbor is far from a freedom-loving, tolerant nation.

In fact, if you have the wrong beliefs, and refuse government demands that you apologize for them, you'll be in a lot of trouble. Cuffed and arrested, in fact.

This is known because of the recent arrest of Pastor Derek Reimer, who refused to comply with a court order that he apologize for his own personal opinions on drag queens and the LGBT lifestyle choices people have made.

He earlier was "convicted" of harassment for objecting to a drag queen event that focused on grooming children.

Commenters on social media said:

"Shame on Canada."

"Canada sounds like a fun place."

And, "It's embarrassing to be Canadian now."

According to a Not the Bee report, apparently jailing people who don't adopt the government's religious beliefs is "what they do in Calgary."

"Yup, the court ordered Pastor Derek Reimer to apologize for a 2023 incident where he 'intimidated' a librarian by protesting an event at the library where men in lingerie were reading to children. Keep in mind, he had already been on a year-long house arrest which was set to end next month when he refused to apologize. However, this breached his sentence conditions."

According to the report, Reimer explained, "I went into my freedom of conscience and a thorough study and my understanding of it, mixed with freedom of expression and religion, it explained and constituted that you have to express to the court your deeply held religious views of why this is a violation of your conscience and why you can't do it.

"I kept going, and she got up and left her own courtroom, and the whole gallery of supporters erupted into applause."

The report noted Reimer had explained his own probation officer, Santander Parmer, was biased, after the court officer stunningly confessed he was working to "break down" Reimer's beliefs and supplant them with government ideologies.

President Donald Trump has labeled the far-left governor of Colorado, homosexual Jared Polis, a "SLEAZEBAG" for keeping an "elderly woman" in prison.

Trump's comments targeted the case of Tina Peters, a former Mesa County clerk, "who was unfairly convicted of what the Democrats do, cheating on Elections."

In fact, the leftist court system in Colorado, which is run entirely by Democrats in the executive branch, through the Democrat-majority legislature and into the all-Democrat state supreme Court, which is so far left its members unsuccessfully tried to remove Trump from the 2024 presidential ballot, convicted Peters of nine counts for her acts of trying to preserve records from the 2020 vote.

Trump said, "The SLEAZEBAG Governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, refuses to allow an elderly woman, Tina Peters, who was unfairly convicted of what the Democrats do, cheating on Elections, out of jail! She was convicted for trying to stop Democrats from stealing Colorado Votes in the Election.

"She was preserving Election Records, which she was obligated to do under Federal Law. She has now served more than one year in jail, and has eight years to go. On top of everything else, she is a cancer 'survivor.' This lightweight Governor, who has allowed his State to go to hell (Tren de Aragua, anyone?), should be ashamed of himself. FREE TINA!"

The Washington Examiner explained Trump decided to "scold" Polis over the case involving alleged "unauthorized" access to the county's election system.

Interestingly, the Democrat secretary of state in Colorado, Jena Griswold, allowed hundreds of election systems passwords to be posted on the Internet, and she was given a pass over her behavior.

It was District Juge Matthew Barrett who had claimed, while sentencing Peters to years in prison, she "abused" her position.

"I am convinced you would do it all over again if you could. You're as defiant as any defendant this court has ever seen," Barrett ranted in extra-judicial comments at the time. "You are no hero. You abused your position, and you're a charlatan."

The Examiner documented, "Peters was found guilty on 'three counts of attempting to influence a public servant, one count of conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, first-degree official misconduct, violation of duty, and failing to comply with the secretary of state.""

Peters has maintained her innocence.

Trump is not allowed to pardon her, as he has done for others, because her charges were state counts.

WND previously reported that the Department of Justice already has asked the federal Bureau of Prisons to research paths for Peters to be moved out of state custody and into a federal facility.

Long has there been the suspicion that the Democrat state's actions against Peters over her concerns about the 2020 election integrity were "oriented more toward inflicting political pain that toward pursuing actual justice or legitimate governmental objectives."

It was the office of Deputy Attorney General, led by Todd Blanche, that dispatched an email to Bureau of Prisons Director William Marshall, calling on the BOP to do the necessary research.

"At the request of the Deputy Attorney General, please have the Bureau of Prisons explore any and all avenues within BOP's authority to seek and request the transfer of Ms. Tina Peters from the Colorado Department of Corrections to a federal BOP facility," the DOJ instructed.

"We ask that BOP send out a request to Colorado as soon as possible and that BOP begin preparations for any possible transfer into federal custody."

In fact, Trump several times has called for the state to "FREE TINA PETERS," describing her as "a brave and innocent Patriot who has been tortured by crooked Colorado politicians, including the big Mail-In Ballot supporting the governor of the State."

Of course, evidence of vast levels of serious misbehavior remains in the state, and not just in the halls of state government in Denver. Records show the sheriff's office in one foothills county, Gilpin, had to pay out $700,000 some years ago for maintaining in official records references to a black resident as "N—– Roy." And Todd Vriesman, a state judge in that same county, recently had a case overturned because he violated the U.S. Constitution by clearing his courtroom out and sealing the doors, thereby depriving a defendant of a public trial.

Further, Colorado leftists repeatedly have used government power there to attack Christians, trying to deprive them of their constitutionally protected religious and speech rights, in cases that have ended up before the Supreme Court, and which the state has lost.

It's a series of attacks that have targeted Enoch Burke, a school teacher in Ireland, for three years already, and it's being elevated now to the point authorities have ordered him to be jailed over the Christmas holiday over his adherence to science and fact.

The fight is over orders from officials at his school to lie, by using "they/them" pronouns for a student who claims to be transgender.

That, of course, defies science, as being male or female is embedded in humans down to the DNA level, and does not change.

Live Action's Lila Rose commented on the orders: "Ireland is no longer free. Ireland teacher Enoch Burke will spend Christmas in jail after refusing to use preferred pronouns for a trans-identifying student, citing his religious beliefs. The school then initiated a disciplinary process, preventing him from teaching. After multiple attempts to fight what he believed was religious persecution, Enoch was arrested. Pray for Enoch and his family."

report from RTE Ireland said the orders to keep Burke locked up over the holiday came from the High Court.

"Mr. Burke was ordered back to prison two weeks ago for contempt of court by continuing to turn up at Wilson's Hospital School despite a court order directing him not to trespass. The judge accused Mr. Burke and his family of engaging in the most deliberate, sustained and concerted attack on the authority of the civil courts and the rule of law in this country in recent times."

Involved are Burke, his brother, Isaac, mother, Martina, and sister, Ammi.

The report explained, "Mr. Burke has spent more than 500 days in prison for refusing to abide by court orders. He claims he is turning up for work at the school as his right. The courts have usually ordered his release from prison during the school holidays."

The judge, Brian Cregan, claimed "fines and the appointment of security guards had failed to stop Mr. Burke turning up at the school and there was no option but to imprison him again," the report said.

The judge already has appointed a receiver for Burke's bank account in order to charge him legal fees to benefit the school.

He also has pending a hearing regarding his dismissal by school officials.

Further, Burke objected to a rant by the judge who described him as "a baleful and malign presence … an intruder, stalking the school…"

After five years of investigating, authorities have arrested a suspect in the Washington, D.C., pipe bomb case that developed at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 5, 2021.

This was just before the Capitol protest-turned-riot where thousands massed at the government building to protest what they saw as the unfair results of the 2020 presidential election. A few hundred broke into the building and vandalized it, and the government prosecuted even those who were convicted of no more than trespassing with years in jail.

President Donald Trump ended that with a pardon of those offenders when he took office in his second term.

The report cited "sources" and said the suspect, at the time, was on video wearing a gray hoodie, Nike Air Max Speed Turf sneakers, a face mask, glasses, and gloves.

The report said, "Authorities discovered the two pipe bombs near the Republican and Democratic National Committees' headquarters around the same time that thousands of protesters a few blocks away began to descend on the Capitol over the 2020 election results. Video footage released by the FBI showed an unidentified person placing the pipe bombs near the two headquarters more than 16 hours before law enforcement found them."

A wire service report said it was the first time investigators "have settled on a suspect in an act that had long vexed law enforcement."

It was the AP that cited its source, an official who "was not authorized to publicly discuss a case that has not yet been made public and spoke on the condition of anonymity."

The bombs were defused and no one was injured.

Dan Bongino, the current FBI deputy director, had pursued action in the case.

"We brought in new personnel to take a look at the case, we flew in police officers and detectives working as TFOs (task force officers) to review FBI work, we conducted multiple internal reviews, held countless in person and SVTC meetings with investigative team members, we dramatically increased investigative resources, and we increased the public award for information in the case to utilize crowd-sourcing leads," he wrote on social media.

The pipe bombs apparently were put in place about 15 hours before they were found, and the FBI has confirmed they could have caused injury and damage.

The suspect was named by the FBI as Brian Cole, 30, of Virginia.

He reportedly was into anarchist ideologies, and his arrest came after the FBI reassessed evidence it already had collected.

Authorities described the pipe bombs has homemade, consisting of threaded galvanized pipes, kitchen timers and homemade black powder.

An Oklahoma state representative is now getting vicious and lethal threats after coming to the defense of a Christian student who received a zero grade from a transgender teaching assistant merely for championing God's gender roles outlined in the Bible.

Republican Gabe Woolley shared the audio of one menacing message, stating: "Hi, this is a message for Rep. Gabe Woolley. Could you please pass this message on to him? Tell him to put a gun in his mouth and pull the trigger for all of our sakes. Thank you. Bye."

Woolley had expressed support for Samantha Fulnecky, a student at the University of Oklahoma who was given a failing grade by Mel Curth, a graduate teaching assistant who is a man pretending to be a woman.

Curtis condemned the student's references to the Bible and faith, and instead insisted she should adopt the teacher's ideologies. The teacher has since been removed from the classroom, as WorldNetDaily reported.

"I support Samantha in this. I read her essay," Woolley said. "As a former educator … I don't see how that could receive a zero when she turned something in with a significant amount of writing. It kind of makes me wonder if there is potential bias or preferences taking place with this T.A.'s grading."

"As elected officials, our duty is to protect the God-given rights of the people – their constitutional freedoms – and ensure responsible stewardship of their tax dollars," he noted. "Taxpayer-funded universities must be held accountable."

After receiving numerous threats, Woolley said: "Once again, the reflexive response from the far-left to disagreement is hostility and attempts to silence opposing voices. This is exactly why restoring a culture of open debate and civil disagreement is essential.

"This wasn't the first threat – but I felt I had to expose this one, especially in light of the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk. And yes – the person telling me to 'put a gun in my mouth and pull the trigger' over my comments on the OU incident doesn't even appear to live in Oklahoma.

"I ran my campaign on transparency & exposure in an effort to restore power to the people. This is the product of declining academia.

"The ideologies and mindsets being fostered in education are leading toward this type of behavior. We can – and must – do better than this."

In the wake of the threats against the Republican lawmaker, online reaction includes:

"Sadly, it's something you have to expect now after Charlie Kirk. Especially when this type of behavior is encouraged on that side."

"They all seem anti-God. We need to bring God back, because if you don't have God in your life, it gets filled with evil."

"Something tells me if the same assignment quoted the Koran we would not even be having this discussion. Call it a hunch."

"For people who oppose guns, they sure like to use them."

It's one of the most consequential yet underreported stories in America today – the massive job loss and life disruption for hundreds of thousands of American workers, particularly in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), due to widespread abuse of America's immigration and visa laws. The ongoing crisis, which daily results in tremendous suffering and depression on the part of American workers, and sometimes even suicide, was the focus of a recent event at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., which featured as a key expert Amanda Bartolotta, WND's senior investigative journalist. Bartolotta's exclusive and groundbreaking reports are not only informing many Americans on the subject, but are being followed by key parts of the Trump administration, including the Office of the Vice President and the Justice Department.

Heritage, long the nation's premier conservative think tank, convened a panel of five nationally recognized experts on immigration, labor policy and visa reform, to explain the massive problem – and its solutions – to government officials, media and the public. Along with Bartolotta, the other four expert panelists included Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies; Kevin Lynn, founder of U.S. Tech Workers and executive director of the Institute for Sound Public Policy; Ronil (Ron) Hira, Ph.D., P.E., associate professor, Department of Political Science, Howard University; and, moderating the discussion, Simon Hankinson, senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation.

The Nov. 19 policy discussion, titled "How the H-1B Visa Led to Importing Mass Cheap Labor," examined how the H-1B program, originally created as a narrow, temporary, non-immigrant visa for specialized workers, has expanded into a gargantuan pipeline for importing large volumes of low-cost, highly controllable immigrant workers at the direct expense of American professionals. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has publicly referred to the arrangement as nothing short of "indentured servitude."

The event drew a capacity in-person audience of approximately 100, including officials from the Department of Homeland Security and Department of State, as well as congressional staff, members of policy organizations, media representatives and those involved with enforcement of immigration laws. In addition, more than 500 "attendees" registered to watch virtually, reflecting the growing national concern about visa abuse and the widespread and alarming displacement of American workers.

Notably, the audience included Mahvash Siddiqui, the U.S. Foreign Service officer who served as a consular official in Chennai, India, one of the world's largest H-1B processing posts. Siddiqui provided first-hand insight into systemic fraud in the visa pipeline, including forged degrees, fabricated employment credentials, third-party staffing company schemes, India-based networks orchestrating large-scale visa abuse and the issuance of more than 220,000 H-1Bs and 140,000 H-4s in 2024 alone. Her disclosures underscored the deep structural vulnerabilities of the program and framed the panel's discussion of foreign influence, labor trafficking and downstream green-card acquisition.

Panelists covered a comprehensive range of topics, including:

* The history and original legislative intent of the H-1B program, with Hira and Krikorian detailing how a narrowly crafted visa program intended for short-term, specialized workers evolved into a mechanism for uncontrolled mass labor importation.

* Outsourcing body shops, loopholes and corporate abuse, with Lynn and Hira outlining how offshore labor firms and multinational staffing companies dominate the program, replacing American workers with lower-cost foreign labor.

* PERM (Program Electronic Review Management) fraud and discriminatory hiring, regarding which Bartolotta presented the pipeline from H-1B misuse to green-card acquisition, explaining how so-called PERM recruitment is systematically manipulated to exclude U.S. workers while securing permanent residency for foreign labor.

* Impact on the American workforce, with panelists highlighting how U.S. STEM graduates struggle to find employment, how tens of thousands of mid-career American professionals are laid off, so-called "labor shortages" are artificially manufactured narratives, and American wages are suppressed and job mobility undermined.

During the following Q&A with the audience, which included federal officials, questions addressed included: Which reforms should take priority, the misuse of federal "training fund" fees collected from visa petitions, and public reactions to high-profile statements on H-1B from Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, among others.

Engagement and public impact

Heritage produced individual video clips for each panelist, and interaction metrics across X (Twitter) demonstrated significant public and policy-community engagement:

Heritage officials noted the unusually high engagement levels for a policy event, signaling a deepening public appetite for immigration and labor-market reform.
