In the wake of the last week's murder of Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom allegedly by an Afghan national let into America by Joe Biden, a top Republican senator is sounding the alarm on both legal and illegal immigration policies, calling it a "civilizational issue for us here in the West."

U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., a key member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, appeared on "Sunday Morning Futures" with guest anchor Jackie DeAngelis on the Fox News Channel.

"The American people have had enough of it," Schmitt said. "It's one of the big reasons they sent President Trump back to the Oval Office. He campaigned on this.

"So this mass migration we've seen needs to be met with mass deportations. Twenty-million people came here illegally. There's flaws in our legal immigration system. I think this is a real kind of civilizational issue for us here in the West."

"They're dealing with it in Europe. It's had tragic consequences there and I think if we get ahead of this in this country, we'll be OK. But the Left is hell-bent, I think, on this open-borders policy. And then if you come here illegally, you're never ever supposed to leave. It's ridiculous."

Schmitt says all the political left wants to do is to "create controversy, create chaos, make it look like the ICE agents are the bad guys in all this."

He explained federal agents are merely "picking up bad folks, and sending them back where they belong, not in the United States of America."

Schmitt again stressed, "It's not just an illegal immigration problem. We have real abuses with our legal immigration system that should be addressed.

"Take the H-1B [visa] program, for example. You have white-collar jobs now that the Americans have the humiliation of training their foreign replacements in order to receive their severance pay. They don't have any additional skills, they're just being paid less.

"The OPT (Optional Practical Training) program which has become a visa mill by universities 'cause they get paid full freight. That's taking away American jobs too where you have some of the highest unemployment rates for engineers and physics majors who we have plenty of in this country, but they're being squeezed out through some of these programs. So there's a lot to do on this front."

President Trump noted Sunday on Truth Social: "Crooked Joe Biden, Mayorkas, and so-called "Border Czar" Kamala Harris really screwed our Country by letting anyone and everyone come in totally unchecked and unvetted!"

A Republican member of Congress says America as we know it is on the verge of being lost because Democrats have "sold their soul to the devil," and he's blaming Christians and gun owners for allowing it to happen.

U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, appeared Saturday night on "The Big Weekend Show" on Fox News, and slammed citizens on the political right who choose not to vote in elections.

"The problem basically is, it's on us!" Burchett said.

"When 12% of the population goes to the polls, 45% of so-called evangelical Christians don't go to the polls, 30% of gun owners don't go to the polls, we have 12% of the population deciding who is elected, who's our judges, who's in Congress. It's a nightmare.

"Folks better wake up or we're gonna lose our dadgum country. And this is not some conspiracy theory. This is a reality," he continued.

"[Former President Ronald] Reagan talked about losing it in one generation. We could lose this country in one vote series. If the Democrats were to take over in the House and the Senate, it would be over for this country right now because they have sold their soul to the devil. They don't care.

"They don't live this flag, they don't love our country, they don't respect our borders, and they just think America is just a big cash cow. We're just gonna start heading to the Xerox machine with $100 bills and printing it out. And that's just not the way it is. Eventually it runs out and it's gonna run out. That's part of the design too.

"They'll wreck this country and they'll rebuild it under some elitist woke-a-topia that their university types can run it. And it'll be like New York on steroids."

He added: "We are one flu season away from truly losing the republic, because the Left – which is the Democrat Party – is not your granddad's Democrats anymore. These people are Marxists; they're openly against our country, they hate our military, they hate our border control – they hate everything about it."

Burchett also referenced the recent murder of Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom in Washington, D.C., allegedly by an Afghan national let in during the Joe Biden administration.

The congressman said leftists "won't even apologize. They won't even say they're sorry that this young lady lost her life in service to our great country, and yet they're out touting this, they're out promoting it, they're out promoting, they want people to disobey orders from their commander-in-chief. They've crossed over that line, and there's no going back. And where's the outrage?"

Any Lucia Lopez Belloza was deported to her native Honduras after attempting to board a flight from Boston to Texas to surprise her family for Thanksgiving, ABC News reported. A federal judge blocked the 19-year-old college student's deportation, but she was removed from the U.S. anyway.

Lopez Bella had entered the U.S. illegally as an 8-year-old with her family. While trying to board her flight to her Texas home to see her relatives a decade later, Lopez Belloza was singled out by airport authorities because of the deportation order.

Her attorney, Todd Pomerleau, said his client was detained and arrested at the airport over the order. A federal judge ruled that the government could not remove Lopez Belloza from the U.S. or anywhere outside of Massachusetts, but the government ignored that edict and moved Lopez Belloza to Texas and sent her Honduras the following day.

"She thought she was going to go home, see her family, fly back, take her finals, and now she's sitting in Honduras," Pomerleau said. While the establishment media is using her story to show the cruelty of President Donald Trump's Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, it's not the whole story.

Long Time Coming

On this surface, this is a tragic story about government officials gone rogue and the plight of a young woman on her way to a bright future. Instead, it's another illustration of the dangers of ignoring immigration enforcement for decades and the human cost of reversing course when the need arises.

The order to deport Lopez Belloza was issued in 2015, but the failure to act allowed her to plant roots in a place she shouldn't have been allowed to enter in the first place. Moreover, as Mass Daily News noted in a post to X on Thursday, the media spin about this unfortunate situation ignores some glaring realities.

The Boston Globe captioned Lopez Belloza's story as an unfortunate situation for someone who "had received a scholarship to study in Massachusetts, and dreamed of opening a tailor shop with her dad," the Globe claimed. "When immigration agents detained her at Logan airport, everything changed," the outlet said ominously.

Mass Daily News noted that what the Boston Globe left out decimates two major talking points on the issue. "Any Lucia Lopez Belloza is an illegal immigrant with a deportation order from 10 years ago. The president 10 years ago? Barack Obama," the social media post said.

The Future

Illegal immigration has created so many pitfalls, but so has the legal immigration system. As part of his Thanksgiving post to Truth Social, Trump announced his plan to "permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system" to alleviate some of the problems caused by such an influx.

The president blamed former President Joe Biden for allowing illegal immigraiton as well as "Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen" letting in migrants who burden the federal government and social safety net. Trump wants to "remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our Country, end all Federal benefits and subsidies to noncitizens of our Country, denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization," Trump wrote.

"These goals will be pursued with the aim of achieving a major reduction in illegal and disruptive populations, including those admitted through an unauthorized and illegal Autopen approval process. Only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation. Other than that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for — You won’t be here for long!" Trump concluded.

Immigration in the U.S. is a mess, thanks to decades of poor leadership from Democrats and spineless Republicans. Trump now has many problems to sort out because of it, and he's not afraid to do that even if it creates some unfortunate situations, as it did for Lopez Belloza, or outrages opponents.

Brace yourself for a presidential power move that’s shaking up Washington: President Donald Trump has just dropped a bombshell by voiding a slew of documents signed with former President Joe Biden’s autopen, Breitbart reported.

Trump’s stunning announcement on Friday targets what he calls an illegal overreach, claiming that a staggering number of Biden’s official papers—estimated at 92%—were inked by machine without proper authorization, rendering them legally meaningless.

Let’s rewind to earlier this year when whispers of autopen misuse first surfaced, with a Heritage Foundation report in March raising eyebrows by noting that most of Biden’s signatures were mechanical reproductions.

Autopen Controversy Sparks Early Concerns

By May, Trump was already sounding the alarm on Truth Social, warning that this autopen saga was ballooning into a full-blown scandal that could tarnish Biden’s legacy.

Fast forward to late October, and the House Oversight Committee stepped into the fray, pressing the Justice Department to probe whether some executive actions under Biden were rolled out without his direct consent.

Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., didn’t mince words, stating, “We have provided Americans with transparency about the Biden Autopen Presidency, and now there must be accountability.”

Trump's Bold Move to Terminate Orders

Trump’s Friday decree wasn’t just a statement—it was a sledgehammer, as he declared all executive orders and other documents not personally signed by Biden to be nullified due to what he deems unauthorized autopen use.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump asserted, “Any document signed by Sleepy Joe Biden with the Autopen, which was approximately 92% of them, is hereby terminated, and of no further force or effect.”

He didn’t stop there, adding, “The Autopen is not allowed to be used if approval is not specifically given by the President of the United States.”

Allegations of Deception in Biden's Circle

Trump’s accusations cut deeper, alleging that Biden had no hand in the autopen process and hinting at legal consequences like perjury if Biden claims otherwise.

Reports from the House Oversight Committee fueled this fire, suggesting that some of Biden’s own aides might have deployed the autopen on executive actions without his knowledge—a troubling breach of trust if proven true.

Even symbolic gestures came under scrutiny, as the White House displayed presidential portraits in the West Wing colonnade, with Biden’s reportedly being a mere snapshot of an autopen signature.

Call for Accountability Gains Traction

This isn’t just about signatures; it’s about the integrity of executive power and whether the American people were misled by a presidency potentially run on autopilot.

While some may argue that autopen use is a practical necessity in a busy administration, the sheer scale—92% by Trump’s estimate—raises valid questions about oversight and authenticity that deserve answers.

As this controversy unfolds, Trump’s decisive action and Comer’s push for accountability signal that the autopen issue won’t be swept under the rug, ensuring that trust in governmental processes remains a priority for conservatives who value transparency over bureaucratic convenience.

A Democrat senator from Minnesota has gone to social media with an attempt to slam President Donald Trump by making claims about "surging" electricity prices, but instead actually delivered the facts about the massive economic failure of President Joe Biden.

report at ZeroHedge called the work by Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., a "propaganda blunder."

Klobuchar posted online a chart she said shows electricity prices are "surging – up 11% — leaving millions behind on their utility bills."

However, the chart showed only "past-due utility" balances, not electricity prices.

Community notes online immediately delivered a correction to Klobuchar: "Joe Biden was president from January 20 2021 – January 20, 2025. Also, this chart is not representing the cost of electricity. It is showing the average past-due balances of Americans, which soared since 2022 under Joe Biden's presidency."

ZeroHedge explained, "Leftist Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota should be investigating the claims of a sprawling welfare-fraud network tied to the state's Somali community – schemes that reportedly funneled taxpayer dollars overseas, including at least one terrorist group. Instead, her office's social media team attempted, one day before Thanksgiving, to launch a propaganda campaign on affordability on X that backfired spectacularly, culminating in a humiliating Community Note that exposed her sheer cluelessness."

The online scolding just got worse, with a modification of Klobuchar's original post to show what happened under Biden's regime.

And, the report added, "Kyle Bass, founder and chief investment officer of Hayman Capital Management, pointed out that the entire post mirrors the same blunder the Democratic Party made with grocery prices propaganda earlier this year on X – what an epic screw up that was."

An expert has explained, in an online commentary, that President Donald Trump now has an opportunity to fix what Rep. Nancy Pelosi broke in America's trade agenda during his first term.

It is Andrei Iancu, who helped negotiate trade deals during Trump's first term, who explained what Pelosi damaged, and how a fix could be in the works now.

It was during work on the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, a plan that replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement, that the damage happened, he said.
And he noted a fix is possible soon, as the three nations soon are to meet to discuss how it is working.

He explained there had been a provision protecting drug manufacturers in America from knockoffs created by overseas competitors in the original plan.

But "that provision designed to reduce foreign freeloading was stripped from the agreement at the insistence of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whose support was necessary to pass the USMCA's implementing legislation through Congress," he explained.

Trump's administration, he said, now could push for the restoration of the original provisions during the coming discussions, he said.

The benefits for Americans are obvious: "Strengthening regulatory data protection in our neighbors would end the freeloading and help bring lower prices to American patients," he said.

It would be, he said, "a political and economic victory."

"During the first Trump administration, as under secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, I worked on the intellectual property aspects of that pact," Iancu explained.

"The president, U.S. Trade Representative Bob Lighthizer, and the rest of the team secured numerous concessions from our northern and southern neighbors to strengthen intellectual property (IP) protections — which help prevent foreign rivals from stealing technologies and designs from innovative American companies, reduce foreign free-riding on America's investment in innovation and incentivize American firms to boost their research spending and expand into foreign markets."

The biggest issue, however, was "a requirement that Mexico and Canada offer 10 years of 'regulatory data protection' to cutting-edge biologic medicines grown from living cell cultures."

That is what Pelosi cut out of the plan, he said.

It is during that time period that rival companies aren't allowed to use the clinical trial data of a biologic developer to create their own "knockoff" products, he said.

Those protections allow innovators to recoup their development investments, which often are costly, and that "incentivizes them to pour more resources into research and development, creating research and manufacturing jobs in the process," he said.

Trump's goal at the time was straightforward: "Raise protections abroad, so that foreign manufacturers can't free ride on American biotech inventors by prematurely introducing knockoff products," he said.

He said support was needed from Pelosi, then House speaker, for the legislation to move forward, and she refused to allow the protections for American companies.

"Now, though, there's a new Congress. The second Trump administration would be wise to push for the original terms, which Canada and Mexico had already agreed to, during the upcoming USMCA review," he wrote.
"Stronger intellectual property protections would mean more new treatments for patients — at lower prices for Americans — along with more high-paying jobs in the industries of the future, and continued leadership in critical 21st-century industries for the United States."

President Donald Trump on Tuesday rejected the idea of extending Obamacare subsidies for two years, but said that extensions may be necessary in order to get a deal in place that could replace the existing system.

Trump told reporters on Air Force One that he would rather not give any extensions of the premium tax credits, which subsidize the cost of health insurance for families making under a certain amount of income.

But he might be open to a deal that agrees to replace Obamacare with a more free-market solution to health insurance in exchange for a subsidy extension until the new plan can be implemented.

"May be necessary"

“I don’t want to extend them for two years. I’d rather not extend them at all,” he said.

“Some kind of extension may be necessary to get something else done because the unaffordable care act has been a disaster,” he added, however.

Trump said he would release his own plan for health insurance soon.

“I like my plan the best: Don’t give any money to the insurance companies, give it to the people directly,” he said. “Let them go out and buy their own health care plan. And we’re looking at that, if that can work. We’re looking at that. That’s sort of taking off.”

His plan

Behind-the-scenes reports said that his plan would give people the money directly instead of paying insurance companies.

Obamacare enrollees who choose to downgrade to a high deductible plan could get part of the subsidy in an HSA, according to reports of the plan.

Without a subsidy extension, costs for existing enrollees could more than double, on average, at a time when most income-earners are stretched thin because of inflation over the last few years.

Democrats negotiating

Trump said that there are a number of Democrats negotiating with him on a new plan, but declined to name any names.

“I can’t tell you who,” he said. “A lot of Democrats want this plan to happen. They would love to see the money go to the people and the people go out and get their own health care. And there would be nothing like it.”

The problem is, when Obamacare came into being, it amounted to a massive payout to the insurance companies and caused rates to skyrocket. Now, there's no good way to bring them back down.

The system is pretty much broken, and I don't know if Trump's plan will fix anything or just make it even worse.

As President Donald Trump has worked to secure America's borders and remove from the United States those inside its borders illegally, especially criminal illegal aliens, the attacks on those officers enforcing those laws, in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, have exploded.

By thousands of threats and attacks in recent months.

Now the federal government has revealed that two brothers allegedly plotting an attack that was to have killed ICE officers have been arrested.

And one of them was employed as an assistant principal at a high school.

According to an announcement from the Department of Homeland Security, arrested were John Wilson Bennett and Mark Booth Bennett, both American citizens.

They allegedly were "planning to carry out attacks against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents."

The case developed when a Virginia police officer overheard the brothers "discussing plans to 'kill police officers and ICE agents,'" DHS confirmed.

Mark Bennett was also overheard saying he was planning to meet with likeminded individuals in Las Vegas, Nev., to purchased firearms with explosive rounds to carry out the attacks, DHS revealed.
The investigation was launched by the DHS and Virginia Beach police just days ago.

It was on Nov. 19 that Mark Bennett was arrested at the Norfolk International Airport where he was scheduled to depart on a flight to Charlotte, North Carolina, en route to Las Vegas, authorities said.

That same day John Bennett was arrested in Virginia Beach, where he has served as the assistant principal of Kempsville High since 2009, they confirmed.

"It's chilling that a human being, much less a child educator, would plot to ambush and kill ICE law enforcement officers—offering such specifics as to getting a high caliber rifle that would pierce the law enforcements' bullet proof vests. Thanks to Homeland Security Investigations and our partners, these men are behind bars," said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

"Our officers are facing a more than 1,150% increase in assaults against them and an 8,000% increase in death threats while they risk their lives every single day to remove the worst of the worst including murderers, rapists, pedophiles, terrorists, and gang members. From bounties placed on their heads for their murders, threats to their families, stalking, and doxxing online, our officers are experiencing an unprecedented level of violence and threats against them and their families."

Pending charges against the two include conspiracy to commit malicious wounding.

President Donald Trump is pausing the processing of all Afghan migrants after it was discovered that an Afghan national shot two National Guardsmen near the White House in D.C. on Wednesday.

"Processing of all immigration requests relating to Afghan nationals is stopped indefinitely pending further review of security and vetting protocols," the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced.

The person arrested for the shooting, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, 29, entered the United States in 2021 under the Biden-era initiative Operation Allies Welcome, according to Just the News.

In speaking to condemn the shooting, Trump blamed his predecessor, Joe Biden, for his lax immigration policies.

Reexamining immigration

"We must now reexamine every single alien who has entered our country from Afghanistan under Biden, and we must take all necessary measures to ensure the removal of any alien from any country who does not belong here or add benefit to our country," he said.

The New York Times reported that Lakanwal drove across the country from his home north of Seattle, where he lives with his wife and five children, and had a plan to attack the Guard troops.

A .357 revolver was used in the shooting. Lakanwal allegedly shot one guardsman, then shot again after he fell, before shooting the second guardsman.

The soldiers, Andrew Wolfe and Sarah Beckstrom, ages 20 and 24, are in critical condition after surgery.

Death penalty

Apparently, Lakanwal worked with the CIA in Afghanistan in 2021 and was part of the withdrawal of Afghan allies when the U.S. withdrew from that area.

Jeanine Pirro said that the U.S. would seek the death penalty for Lakanwal if the guard troops didn't survive.

Pirro also said Lakanwal is being charged with three counts of assault with intent to kill while armed, as well as possession of a firearm during a crime of violence.

She also defended the presence of National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., saying that their presence helped form “the line that separates a civilized society from a barbaric one.”

A judge has ruled to block the continued deployment, saying it was probably illegal, but Trump is fighting to keep the troops there.

The nonpartisan group #AfghanEvac said that Lakanwal's case “appears to be a tragic outlier — not a pattern."

The suspect in the shooting of two West Virginia National Guardsmen in Washington on Wednesday, the latest unprovoked terror attack on the U.S., allegedly had gone through a "thorough screening and background check" process.

That's according to a statement of Joe Biden's press secretary, Jen Psaki, at the time thousands of Afghans were being brought into the United States by the Democrat administration then.

At the time, Psaki was questioned about the possibility of terrorists being delivered to U.S. shores by Biden's Operation Allies, which was supposed to have been evacuating and resettling U.S. "allies" from Afghanistan, after the U.S. abruptly withdrew its troops of that location.

Psaki said: "I can absolutely assure you that no one is coming into the United States of America who has not been through a thorough screening and background check process."

She continued, "There are many individuals as you noted who have not been through that process. And they have gone to lilypad countries, as that process has been completed. It doesn't mean that there's a flag, it means they have not completed their paperwork."

The suspect has been identified by authorities as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who allegedly drove across the country in preparation for his "ambush" attack on Guardsmen Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, and Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24.

Both were hospitalized and described initially as in critical condition.

The suspect, also shot, had lesser injuries, reports confirmed.

Charges against him could include assault with intent to kill while armed and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence.

Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said, "We are praying that they survive and that the highest charge will not have to be murder in the first degree. But make no mistake, if they do not, that will certainly be the charge."

President Trump has strategically dispatched Guard troops to fight what has been described as out-of-control crime in key locations, a program that so far often has resulted in a significant drop in crime rates in those locations.
