President Joe Biden was uncharacteristically emotional while receiving the Global Citizen award during the Clinton Global Initiative Summit, Breitbart reported. Biden gushed over presenters Bill and Hillary Clinton, telling the former first lady, "I love you."

Biden attended the summit with wife, Jill Biden, in New York City on Monday evening. He was not set to speak but was only there to support the first lady who had to witness her husband make such an overture to another woman.

The president made sentimental remarks on stage while accepting the award from the Clintons. "This is what you call being trapped," Biden said, lightly suggesting he was there against his will.

"Hillary, I want to thank you —and I maybe shouldn’t do this publicly — but thank you personally for the way you have helped me, the way you’ve spoken up for me with such passion. I can’t tell you — you can ask Jill. Anyway, I love you."

Choked Up

According to the New York Post, which shared a clip of the moment, Joe Biden wiped tears from his eyes after sharing his remarks. Hillary Clinton mouthed "thank you" in return.

The lovefest continued as the president also praised Bill Clinton, whose sordid past is well known, as a man of "decency" and "incredible intellect." Bill Clinton in turn had kind words for Joe Biden, arguably the worst president in modern history.

"He’s provided a playbook for getting things done," Bill Clinton said. Joe Biden continued with his high praise for Bill Clinton, calling him a person with "uncommon decency and goodness and grace.

This schmaltzy exchange seemed like a farewell from Joe Biden, who is serving out the last months of his term as a lame duck. Perhaps he is especially loyal to the Clintons because they stood by him as rumors swirled about his unfitness for president.

Unwavering Support

After a disastrous debate performance on July 28, Joe Biden caved to pressure and stepped down from the presidential race. However, the Clintons publicly pushed for donors to continue to support him right up until the day he pulled out.

As heavy hitters like former President Barack Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were trying to force him out, Hillary Clinton stood firmly behind Joe Biden. Even after the debate that all but sealed Joe Biden's fate, Hillary Clinton came out in his favor.

"The choice in this election remains very simple. It's a choice between someone who cares about you—your rights, your prospects, your future—versus someone who's only in it for himself," Hillary posted to X, formerly Twitter, in the immediate aftermath, The Hill reported.

"I'll be voting Biden." Unfortunately for her, Hillary Clinton's clout was not enough to save Biden from the coup staged by his own party to replace him with Vice President Kamala Harris.

These radical Democrats ruin the nation while slapping each other on the back for a job well done. The Clintons and the Bidens are awful politicians and even worse people, but they are brought together by having those facts in common.

An American writer who relocated to Germany some years ago now is facing up to three years in jail for violating that nation's censorship rules.

He posted a satirical image on social media featuring a white swastika behind a white medical mask – suggesting the links between Germany's COVID-19 policies and requirements of the government in its efforts to control the population during COVID to the government's behaviors exhibited during the Nazi regime.

It is the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression that is reporting on the case involving CJ Hopkins, an American writer who relocated to Germany in 2004.

He's was accused of disseminating propaganda after he posted two images on X featuring "an illustration of a white swastika behind a white medical mask," FIRE reported.

He was acquitted in January, but government officials there refused to accept the decision and sent him to the Berlin Appellate Court, which granted government officials' demands and reversed the lower court's ruling.

Hopkins, in an interview with FIRE, said, "It's been going on for what feels like forever. It does grind you down. I'm not going to stop fighting, but I'd be lying if I said I don't get knocked down sometimes, so this is a knockdown."

Hopkins said the appeals court reversal was expected.

"If this court had any intention of respecting the law and following the law, it would have just dismissed the prosecutor's arguments in the first place," he explained.

The case now is expected to return to the Tiergarten District Court, which originally acquitted him, for a sentence that could range up to three years behind bars.

He said ultimately he intends to take his case to the Federal Constitutional Court, which is similar to the U.S. Supreme Court, which could dismiss the case or allow it to move into another level of lengthy legal arguments.

He told FIRE, "I said from the beginning, I kind of feel like it's my responsibility. A lot of people can't afford to do this. Part of what keeps me going is, I know a lot of people out there are grateful for it."

While America's First Amendment would appear to protect personal opinions, including satire and parody, the governor in California, Gavin Newsom, recently signed into law a ban on political parody, prompting speech proponents to take him to court for the apparent constitutional violation.

Former President Donald Trump received the endorsement of over 200 retired admirals and generals, Breitbart reported. In a letter Monday, these decorated military members said America’s "future is at stake" in this election.

The organization behind the letter, Flag Officers 4 America, called the upcoming presidential race the "most important election since our Nation was founded." The letter slammed President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for their policies that they believe threaten America's future.

They believe that Trump is the only choice. "The undersigned retired Generals and Admirals are endorsing Donald J. Trump for president in 2024 because he is a proven leader who will secure our border, repulse our adversaries, revitalize our economy, and keep America safe and strong," the letter began.

A Nation in Turmoil

The letter went on to state all of the problems America is facing because of the Democrats' poor leadership. "Today, our Nation has never been more divided as the cultural war, supported by the Democratic party, divides our citizens into conflicting groups," the letter said.

"Recent evidence is the widespread riots on university campuses with students and faculty supporting terrorist organizations, Hamas and Hezbollah, blatantly flying their flags on American soil and burning our U.S. national flag," it said, just to name a few problems. They warned that America's adversaries could take advantage of the instability.

The letter said this has become "the most serious and the most challenging threats since the end of World War II. The United States could in short order be drawn into a war across multiple theaters with peer and near-peer adversaries, and it could lose."

The retired generals and admirals noted that "the Heritage Foundation rated the overall strength of our military as 'weak'" in its assessment. This combination makes the situation dire if a strong leader like Trump is not there to turn things around.

They blamed "divisive social engineering programs embodied in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the expense of warfighting readiness" while "China, Iran, Russia, North Korea, and global terrorists are rapidly expanding their capabilities and aggressiveness," the letter said. "This did not happen during Donald Trump’s presidency."

Destructive Policies

The letter went on to blame specific policies the Biden-Harris administration has enacted for current crises. With Harris already the vice president, a vote for her would mean more of the same.

They first cited the "perilous situation" created by the "influx of countless millions of unvetted illegals from 160 countries, including ~100,000 Chinese, most of military age, plus thousands of criminals and terrorists, place America at great risk," the letter said. "Future terrorist attacks of some size and fashion on U.S. soil are a near certainty. Border security is national security.

They also noted the ballooning deficit and rising inflation under Biden and Harris. "Inflation caused by the Administration’s policies, affect national defense because it decreases the money available to properly equip, train, arm and size our military," the leaders said.

Lastly, the influential military members cited the coverup of Biden's dementia as he still serves as president. "For the past 3.5 years, the CINC’s/President’s obvious impairments have been deliberately concealed and denied by the Vice President and others, placing politics above national security," they noted.

These decorated heroes are correct that this election will be extraordinarily consequential. It's imperative that Trump takes the White House while there's still a chance to clean up this mess that Biden and Harris have made.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dodged a question about the many thousands of illegal immigrants in the U.S. with criminal records, Fox News reported. Jean-Pierre claimed the Immigration and Customs Enforcement numbers were "misrepresented" when asked about it by Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy.

During Monday's White House press briefing, Doocy pressed Jean-Pierre about ICE figures that show "13,000 people who have been convicted of murder across the border illegally and are living among us." Jean-Pierre claimed that Doocy was flat-out wrong.

"That has been debunked on what has been falsely misrepresented, misrepresented here. So we have to call that out," Jean-Pierre claimed.

Staggering Statistics

Doocy asked Jean-Peirre about ICE data making the rounds with GOP lawmakers about criminal records for illegal immigrants who are not currently detained by ICE but slated for deportation. One of those figures includes 13,099 who are convicted of homicide.

When Jean-Pierre said it was simply a "misrepresentation," Doocy pushed back on that claim. "Can you clarify what the misrepresentation is?" Doocy said.

"If we're going to report something, data that's out there, we got to do it in a way that is not confusing the American people and certainly not lying. If you look at the total returns and removal of the past year, that has been higher than every year under the previous administration since 2010," Jean-Pierre claimed, deflecting from the number still in the country.

Some media outlets have attempted to debunk the claims. The Department of Homeland Security softened the blow by noting the number included "individuals who entered the country over the past 40 years or more" and "many who are under the jurisdiction or currently incarcerated by federal, state or local law enforcement partners."

However, it doesn't change the fact that there are at least 647,000 illegal immigrants in the country who are convicted criminals or who have pending charges. Besides the murderers, there are convicted kidnappers, drug offenders, sex offenders, burglars, and other violent criminals.

Migrant Crime

While Jean-Pierre quibbles over the figures, the reality on the ground for many communities is that illegal immigration is bringing in more criminal activity. By definition, those who enter the U.S. without proper documentation are criminals, albeit nonviolent.

Still, communities where illegal immigration numbers ballooned, such as in Springfield, Ohio, note the destruction it brings. While many have tried to downplay reports of migrant behavior, the Washington Times reported that this community is suffering.

The population is about 58,000, but another 20,000 primarily Haitian immigrants have flooded in between 2020 to 2025. With this influx came "trash piling up on streets, dangerous driving, homelessness, people squatting on their properties, overstressed health care services, and a host of other issues you would expect from a sudden, unplanned, 34% population increase," the Times said.

Things are even worse in Aurora, Colorado, where Venezuelan gangs have the city under siege. Authorities don't have exact figures on the crime rate, but reports reveal that these gangs have taken over entire apartment complexes and broke down the doors of residents at will.

It's common sense that problems will follow when people enter the U.S. illegally. The fact that Doocy cited a statistic encompassing decades to make that point does nothing to change the underlying truth.

As the actual killer winds and storms from Hurricane Helene dissipate, residents of multiple southeastern states, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina in particular, are getting a look at what's left of their communities after one of the most devastating storms ever.

And it's not good.

Zach Dasher, of Swannanoa, N.C., said it's complete devastation there. Absolute decimation.

"I'm talking about not only have the buildings gone on one side of the road, the ground that the building sat on is no longer there. It's complete devastation. Lots of people lost their lives. Folks from our church that were helping rescue people out of the floods, they saw people lose their lives… We don't have a final count or anything like that… It's devastating.," he said in a Fox report.

The death toll quickly surged past 140 and reports confirm hundreds more people have not yet been found safe.

While the storm came ashore as a Category 4 in Florida, it swooped north quickly, crossing Georgia then landing, more or less, on parts of North Carolina, where up to 30 inches of rain was reported.

And roads, buildings, bridges, even mountainsides, were reported gone.

Vast swaths of the region remained without power. No food, fuel or communications yet were available.

Appalachian State University student Dana Lheureux told Fox's Trace Gallagher, "The hurricane hitting us was devastating. None of us expected to be hit as bad as we were. The tree went through my building at 6 a.m. on Friday morning."

She said, "I have friends that lost their apartments, their cars, all of their belongings… The town of Boone is devastated. We've never experienced anything like this… As a community, we're doing our best to band together and to support everyone that's gone through this disaster."

Fatalities were documented in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.

Joe Biden approved a disaster declaration for North Carolina and at the same time warned people they would need to donate to cover the costs of a recovery. GOP presidential candidate President Donald Trump announced the delivery of trucks loaded with supplies, and an online fundraiser that was collecting hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash to help.

Debris from destroyed buildings and vehicles littered waterways, which were at record flood levels as the rainfall drained away, a process that should take days.

Various locations declared public health emergencies. Tornado watches remained.

In Erwin Tennessee, officials reported dozens of people were rescued from the roof of a hospital.

Virginia state police said dozens of patients and staff were trapped on the building because of the quickly rising storm floods.

"I don't think very many people have seen something like this before," Ballad Health CEO Alan Levine said in a report. "The most important thing is the safety of our employees and patients. Thank God, thanks to the great work of Tennessee and Virginia partnering to help us get this rescue underway, they're all safe."

Hundreds of flights were canceled in Charlotte, Atlanta and Tampa, and there was a warning issued that electric vehicles, if flooded by salty seawater, could short out and explode.

ABC News reported sudden, heavy deluges still were being reported.

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper called the wreckage left behind "beyond belief."

"Communities were wiped off the map," he said.

Helene made landfall in Florida's Big Bend region Thursday night as a Category 4 hurricane and reports called it the strongest hurricane to make landfall in the Big Bend on record.

The Buncombe County region in North Carolina was among the hardest hit, with 35 fatalities there and an estimated 600 individuals still remaining unaccounted for.

Online, Biden and Harris were facing a backlash over a slow response, with one commenter suggesting they get that "check" back from Ukraine and send it to Asheville, N.C., which was a bull's-eye for the storm.

Cleanup work from the devastating, and historic Hurricane Helene that decimated parts of Florida, Georgia and North Carolina over the weekend is under way.

And the lives for many never will be the same.

Joe Biden commented immediately that the federal government was working on aid for the states hit by the category 4 behemoth that has left more than 100 dead.

But he wasn't optimistic about more.

He was asked if there were any more resources the federal government could provide, and he said, "No."

Virtually all of the descriptions of the storm and its aftermath included, somewhere, the word "catastrophic."

Helene made landfall in Florida's Big Bend region Thursday night as a Category 4 hurricane and reports called it the strongest hurricane to make landfall in the Big Bend on record.

The storm also impacted South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said 25 in his state have died, including a 27-year-old mother and her month-old twin boys, who died when a tree fell on their home.

Millions remained without power, although utility crews were restoring more neighborhoods by the hour.

The Buncombe County region in North Carolina was among the hardest hit, with 35 fatalities there and an estimated 600 individuals still remaining unaccounted for.

Some points reported up to 30 inches of rain from the storm and flooding covered fields, streets, homes and businesses, cutting off travel. Much damage came from trees that were toppled in the fierce winds and hit buildings and vehicles.

As of Monday, millions still remained without power or the ability to travel.

As the week began, the storm, still filled with thunderstorms and the threat of violence, was moving into the mid-Atlantic.

Online, Biden and Harris were facing a backlash over a slow response, with one commenter suggesting they get that "check" back from Ukraine and send it to Asheville, N.C., which was a bull's-eye for the storm.

report at BizPacReview scorched the Democrats for, as the storm destroyed lives, "Biden had returned to his beach and Harris had her handout as she continued bucking for a promotion."

The Center Square reported damage estimates of up to $100 billion already had been calculated.

report at the Federalist unleashed a critical assessment of Biden and Harris as "Biden remained lounging at the beach this weekend while Appalachian valleys in North Carolina and Tennessee suffered deadline flooding."

"Biden's public schedule had him depart for Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, on Friday, the day after the hurricane's initial landfall. He was initially expected to be there through late Sunday evening, but the president reportedly returned to Washington earlier on Sunday as tensions escalate in the Middle East," the report noted.

It cited the assessment of Ryan Cole, the assistant director for emergency services in Buncombe County, over the "biblical" flooding from the storm.

"You've heard us say, 'catastrophic devastation within our county.' I would go a little bit further and say we have biblical devastation through the county. We've had biblical flooding here, and it has been extremely significant."

"We are in the midst of the most significant natural disaster in our community," said Buncombe County Manager Avril Pinder.

Newsweek reported President Trump criticized Biden and Harris, saying the Democrats were "sleeping" while the storm hit.

In fact, Harris was at a fundraiser.

Trump said he plans to visit some of the devastated areas soon.

Harris also plans to visit "as soon as it is possible without disrupting emergency response."

Tom Pearson, confidant and top adviser to embattled New York City Mayor Eric Adams, resigned Monday, the New York Daily News reported. Pearson is one of several officials, including the mayor, who are caught up in a federal corruption probe.

In his resignation letter, Pearson said his last day would be Friday. He said the reason was so that he could "focus on family, self-care and new endeavors."

However, this move comes just days after Adams was indicted on bribery charges and nearly a month after Pearson had his devices seized. It also follows a spate of resignations of those surrounding the mayor, including New York City Schools Chancellor David Banks and NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban, who have stepped down amid the scandal.

The Resignation

Pearson used his resignation letter and as an opportunity to tout his achievements while ignoring the scandals. "I played a critical role in ensuring quality assurance for migrant services and security issues, with particular oversight of shelter sites and migrant contracts, with a focus on keeping costs down for the city," Pearson claimed.

The New York Post reported that Adams similarly glossed over the accusations in a statement about Pearson's resignation. "Tim has had a long career in both the public and private sectors, where he has spent over 30 years keeping New Yorkers safe," Adams said Monday.

The mayor's longtime friend is under investigation for his actions serving in the Economic Development Corporation and later heading a new unit Adams created called the Municipal Services Assessment Division. Here, he allegedly received kickbacks and engaged in influence peddling in exchange for New York City government contracts.

Beyond the federal probe, Pearson is the subject of four separate lawsuits. One of the lawsuits pertains to his activity in the mayor's office and includes an incriminating comment Pearson allegedly made about his position.

"People are doing very well on these contracts. I have to get mine. Where are my crumbs?" Pearson allegedly said, revealing his motives.

Legal Woes

The mayor's aide has a history of legal problems beyond the current scandal. In 2022, Pearson was employed with Resorts World Casino in Queens while receiving a city salary for his full-time job there.

He avoided further problems by simply resigning from the casino. However, trouble would find him again in October 2023 when he got into a physical altercation with two security guards at a migrant shelter.

The security guards were arrested, but Person was later under scrutiny for allegedly starting the incident and shoving a female guard. He also has a history of throwing his weight around when he's backed into a corner.

In March, Roxanne Ludemann sued Pearson for sexual harassment. Then, her two witnesses, Sgt. Michael Ferrari and Lt. George Huang, initiated their own lawsuit after Pearson allegedly retaliated against them for supporting Ludemann.

While the mayor has yet to resign, Pearson has done the right thing by leaving his post as the accusations pile up. If any of these allegations are true, the people of New York City deserve to see justice done and better leaders in place.

A court hearing is being held this week on a blatantly discriminatory program – where rights are based solely on race – in the administration of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Kamala Harris' pick to be vice president on the Democrat party's 2024 ticket.

Judicial Watch confirmed it is the Minnesota Supreme Court that will hear arguments in the lawsuit over a scheme that appears in a contract for Minnesota teachers.

It produces special job "rights" for some teachers, but only if they qualify under certain racial characteristics.

WND had reported earlier that the case against the Minneapolis scheme came after it provided special privileges for minorities not given to others, in violation of the Equal Protection Guarantee of the Minnesota Constitution.

The racism was instituted formally after a 2022 teachers' strike.

A district court earlier attempted to kill the dispute raised by Judicial Watch, but that ruling was reversed by the state Court of Appeals.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of a Minneapolis taxpayer "over a teachers' contract that provides discriminatory job protections to certain racial minorities."

It's being challenged because, "the contract provides preferences, protections, and privileges for MPS teachers of certain races and ethnicities under a section entitled 'ARTICLE 15. PROTECTIONS FOR EDUCATORS OF COLOR.' There is no similar provision covering educators who are not 'of color.'"

The report said it exempts "teachers of color" from the district's "seniority-based layoffs and reassignments."

It means a senior teacher who is not of the right race would be laid off while a junior teacher who is of the right race would be kept on staff during layoffs.

Judicial Watch said the case started in 2022 against Minneapolis Public Schools for violating the Equal Protection Guarantee of the Minnesota Constitution. The school district, supported by the teachers and other public employee unions, asserts that Minnesota taxpayers do not have the right to challenge the illegal spending of taxpayer money by government officials.

The legal team told the state Supreme Court, "Minneapolis Public Schools and its Amici spill a lot of ink complaining that a 'complete stranger' has sued to prevent MPS from carrying out an unconstitutional provision of a contract between it and its teachers. [The Taxpayer], however, is not a stranger. She is a Minneapolis taxpayer, and this Court, since at least 1877, has recognized taxpayers as proper parties to bring such actions in Minnesota courts. This Court should not accept MPS's and its Amici's invitation to undermine this important check on government power."

The arguments noted that the plaintiff is a taxpayer and has paid property tax on her home since 2017.

And that schools are funded by taxes.

The fact that one of the provisions in a school contract violates the state constitution, then, is grounds for her protest.

As the possibility of a second Trump administration looms, discussions about who may fill top Cabinet roles are already gaining traction. Despite claims from the Trump campaign that these conversations are premature, speculation is growing around several key figures. Familiar faces from Trump's first term, alongside new allies, are being considered for top positions, and loyalty is expected to play a central role in the selection process.

Several prominent individuals are being floated for key positions in a potential second Trump administration, with loyalty proving crucial for consideration, The Hill reported

The Trump campaign has acknowledged that conversations about Cabinet appointments are ongoing but maintains that formal decisions remain distant. This caution comes at a time when several members of Trump's previous Cabinet have not thrown their support behind his 2024 campaign, making loyalty an increasingly important factor for his team.

Transition Team Led by Familiar Faces

Linda McMahon, who previously served as head of the Small Business Administration, and businessman Howard Lutnick are leading Trump’s transition team. Both played significant roles in Trump’s first term, and their involvement signals the importance of trusted allies for future appointments. Joining them in honorary roles are Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance, as well as Donald Trump Jr., Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

These figures are likely to have significant influence over the transition process, especially as Trump weighs several prominent contenders for critical roles, such as Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense.

Possible Contenders for Secretary of State

Among those being considered for Secretary of State are Republican Senators Marco Rubio, Tom Cotton, Bill Hagerty, and former National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien. All have established themselves as influential voices in foreign policy and national security, and their names have been floated in discussions surrounding this critical role. Trump will likely choose someone who not only shares his vision for America’s role in the world but also remains unwavering in their loyalty.

As Trump builds his team, speculation also surrounds key positions like Secretary of Defense, where several high-profile figures are vying for consideration.

Secretary of Defense Candidates Surface

For the role of Secretary of Defense, Sen. Tom Cotton is a notable contender. He has long been a vocal supporter of a strong defense policy, aligning with Trump’s priorities in this area. Other names in the running include Rep. Michael Waltz, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and former Acting Pentagon Chief Christopher Miller.

Trump has praised Miller’s time leading the Pentagon, stating, “We had Miller at the end who did a very good job. I thought he was really good.” This praise suggests that Miller is a serious contender for the role, although Cotton’s name has also been floated due to his military background and policy stances.

Potential Attorney General Picks

The position of Attorney General is also drawing considerable attention. Trump is reportedly considering Sen. Eric Schmitt and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for the role. Paxton, a staunch ally of Trump, faced impeachment in 2023 by the Texas state House but was later acquitted by the state Senate. Trump has praised Paxton’s abilities, calling him a “very talented guy,” signaling that loyalty remains a major factor in these decisions.

Other roles, including Secretary of the Treasury and Secretary of Commerce, are also being considered, with several key names already emerging as possible picks.

Treasury Secretary and Commerce Secretary Candidates

For the Treasury Secretary position, hedge fund manager John Paulson, former U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, investor Scott Bessent, and former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin are among those being discussed. Trump is expected to choose someone with extensive financial expertise, capable of guiding economic policy during a potential second term.

The race for Commerce Secretary is similarly competitive. Linda McMahon, Robert Lighthizer, Sen. Bill Hagerty, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, and businessman Keith Krach are all being mentioned as contenders. Trump could also look to bring in an outsider with extensive business experience, much like he did in his first term.

In a surprising twist, Trump has indicated a willingness to include Democrats in his Cabinet, should he win the election. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, both of whom have supported Trump’s policies in the past, have been mentioned as potential Cabinet members. Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman, has been suggested for a diplomatic role, while Kennedy could potentially lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

John Kerry, the onetime Democrat party chieftain who served as Joe Biden's climate spokesman, jetting around the world in carbon fuel-belching jets to accept awards and such, has said the quiet part out loud.

Regarding the nation's First Amendment, that critical protection guarding the rights of individuals from shore to shore.

He wants it changed. And all because it gets in the way of what information he doesn't like, and thinks should be censored.

He explained:

"The dislike of and anguish over social media is just growing and growing. It is part of our problem, particularly in democracies, in terms of building consensus around any issue. It's really hard to govern today. You can't – the referees we used to have to determine what is a fact and what isn't a fact have kind of been eviscerated, to a certain degree. And people go and self select where they go for their news, for their information. And then you get into a vicious cycle.

So it is really hard, much harder to build consensus today than at any time in the 40-50 years I've been involved in this.

You know there's a lot of discussion now about how you curb those entities in order to guarantee that you're going to have some accountability on facts, etc.

But look, if people only go to one source, and the source they go to is sick, and, you know, has an agenda and they're putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence.

So what we need is to win the ground, win the right to govern, by hopefully winning enough votes that you're free to be able to implement change."

Real Clear Politics explained his comments came at a World Economic Forum meeting.

"Near the end of the panel, a member of the audience asked what can be done to push back against disinformation surrounding climate change online," the report said.

Democrats and other leftists in American for years already have been insisting that ideas with which they disagree must be suppressed. They call it misinformation, or disinformation, or malinformation, but essentially it's just differing opinions.

But such an agenda also has moved far into the active manipulation of elections. Dozens of so-called national security veterans during the 2020 election insisted that the accurate, and devastatingly bad, details contained about the Biden family operations in Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop were Russian disinformation.

They weaponized the federal government to tell social media and other companies to suppress it.

The laptop scandals proved to be completely accurate, but the suppression agenda run by federal agencies and others probably, a later polling revealed, cost President Donald Trump his re-election bid at the time.
