A watchdog organization is demanding that the U.S. government, under the administration of President Donald Trump and his Department of Government Efficiency, defund a giant in the nation's abortion industry.
A report at Fox News explains the former administration, under Joe Biden, handed over $700 million in money collected from taxpayers to Planned Parenthood, during one reporting period.
Now a group organized by former Vice President Mike Pence is urging Elon Musk, head of DOGE, to cut off the "wasteful" spending to the abortion company.
"For the sake of the American people and generations yet unborn, the time has come for the United States to finally defund the largest abortion provider in America," Tim Chapman, president of Advancing American Freedom, told Musk in a letter.
The Government Accountability Office previously has reported that the abortion corporation routinely is given hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars though Health and Human Services grants and public health programs.
"Planned Parenthood Federation of America affiliates accounted for $148 million in HHS grants and $1.5 billion in Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP payments, with regional organizations receiving an additional $108 million. Taxpayer dollars made up 34% of Planned Parenthood's funding, the letter stated, citing a 2022-2023 annual report by the Charlotte Lozier Institute," the report explained.
The letter praised the administration for working to eliminate waste and fraud, and said that the "opportunity to defund Planned Parenthood may be yours and President Trump's greatest moment."
Trump already has worked to remove support for abortion.
He has restored the Mexico City Policy which prohibits federal funding to international non-governmental organizations that perform or promote abortions. And he issued an executive order enforcing the 1980 Hyde Amendment to prevent federal funds from being used for elective abortions.

Elon Musk joined President Donald Trump in the Oval Office Tuesday to discuss "mind-blowing" amounts of fraud and abuse they're discovering through deep dives by DOGE, including people "150 years old" receiving Social Security.
"We had no idea we were going to find this much," Trump said. "We have already found billions of dollars of abuse, incompetence, and corruption."
"Could be close to a trillion dollars that we're gonna find."
Musk explained: "We do find it sort of rather odd that there are quite a few people in bureaucracy who have ostensibly a salary of a few hundred thousand dollars but somehow managed to accrue tens of millions of dollars in net worth while they are in that position, which is what happened at USAID.
"We are just curious as to where it came from. Maybe it was very good investing? In which case we should take their investment advice perhaps. But there seems to be mysteriously they get wealthy. We do not know why. Where does it come from?
"I think the reality is they are getting wealthy at taxpayers expense. That's the honest truth of it."
"It is mind-blowing," Musk continued. "We are really just talking about adding common sense controls that should be present that have not been present."
"If money is spent badly, if your taxpayer dollars are not spent in a sensible manner that is not OK. Your tax dollars need to be spent wisely on the things that matter to the people. These things, it is just common sense. It is not draconian or radical I think.
"It is really just saying let's look at these ventures and say is this actually in the best interest of the people? If it is let's approve it if not we should not think about it."
"There's crazy things," Musk explained. "Like just a cursory examination of Social Security, we've got people in there that are150 years old. Now do you know anybody who's 150? I don't. They should be in 'The Guinness Book of World Records.' They are missing out.
"So that is the case like I think they are probably dead is my guess. Or they should be very famous. One of the two. And then a whole bunch of Social Security payments where there is no identifying information? Why is there not identifying information?"
Musk also said terrorists have been funded by U.S. tax dollars.
"We are talking about terrorist organizations. We are talking about known fraudsters, known aspects of waste, no things that do not match any congressional appropriation."
Musk also said millions of dollars in fraudulent spending were discovered going to foreigners.
"If there's going to be fraud, it should at least go to Americans," he quipped.

As revealed in a recent report published by the Middle East Forum, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR – the supposedly moderate U.S.-based Muslim advocacy group whose leader openly praised Hamas for its Oct. 7, 2023 massacre of Israelis – has repeatedly worked to obstruct U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, encouraging noncitizens to defy immigration enforcement.
WorldNetDaily spoke to Anna Stanley, a research associate at the Middle East Forum, who authored "Islamists Obstruct Efforts to Deport Criminal Aliens." She pointed out that CAIR "distributes guidance on how to avoid compliance, advising individuals to stay silent and refuse to open their doors to immigration agents to stall or prevent deportation."
In addition, she said, CAIR actively campaigns against ICE operations and lobbies for policies that weaken enforcement efforts. A recent CAIR-Ohio "Community Alert" lays out a detailed strategy for evading ICE, instructing: "Do not allow entry and … refuse to answer questions," directly interfering with the agency's ability to carry out its legal mandate.
CAIR also claims that "ICE may use tricks, lies, or intimidation to gain entry," noted Stanley. "Because administrative immigration warrants do not give ICE the legal authority to enter private property without consent – unlike criminal warrants – agents sometimes rely on deceptive tactics to make arrests, a practice codified in ICE policy," she explained. "By promoting noncompliance with lawful enforcement," she argued, "CAIR actively undermines immigration law and impedes the work of federal authorities."
Disturbingly, revealed Stanley, "CAIR tailors its messaging toward the very individuals ICE prioritizes for enforcement, including those who are in the country illegally, have criminal convictions, face prior deportation orders, or are deemed national security threats." What's more, she said, "CAIR's use of the phrase 'noncitizens who have violated the terms of their immigration status' as a euphemism for illegal immigrants reflects its political stance on the issue, downplaying the legal reality of unlawful presence."
"By encouraging noncompliance among these groups," Stanley added, "CAIR risks shielding individuals who could pose a danger to the public and obstructing lawful immigration enforcement." Which begs the question, "Why should an organization that so openly advises against cooperation with U.S. law enforcement be allowed to operate without consequences?"
ICE's response, said Stanley, rightly highlights the dangerous consequences of efforts to obstruct immigration enforcement. "By spreading misinformation and actively encouraging noncompliance," she suggested, "CAIR is not just undermining the rule of law – it is jeopardizing public safety."
ICE's mission is clear: to enforce immigration laws and remove individuals who pose a risk, including criminals and national security threats. "When organizations like CAIR encourage defiance and spread misleading narratives," she warned, "they create unnecessary confrontations that endanger both law enforcement officers and the communities they serve."
For Stanley, "ICE officials are correct in warning that such actions can fuel hostility and even violence, making their already difficult job even more dangerous." Rather than hindering lawful enforcement, she said, groups that claim to support public safety should be working to uphold the law, not protect those who break it.
"Law enforcement should view CAIR's efforts as a direct attempt to obstruct federal immigration enforcement and weaken national security," she said. By advising noncitizens – many of whom are in the country illegally – to evade ICE, CAIR is not acting as a civil rights group, as it postures, but as an organization actively working against U.S. law enforcement, she explained. "This kind of interference not only undermines the rule of law, but also puts officers, communities, and even the individuals CAIR claims to protect at risk."
There should be clear policies in place that penalize organizations like CAIR that deliberately encourage noncompliance with federal law, she said. "No group should be allowed to operate with impunity while obstructing lawful enforcement efforts and shielding individuals who may pose security risks."
"Federal, state and local authorities must recognize the danger of allowing such actions to go unchecked and implement measures that hold these groups accountable for their role in undermining immigration enforcement," she added.
"CAIR's open defiance of immigration enforcement is not just a policy stance – it is a direct challenge to the authority of federal law," Stanley said. "No organization should be allowed to instruct individuals on how to evade deportation, especially when it involves criminals and potential national security threats."
If the U.S. is serious about upholding its immigration laws and protecting its citizens, she concluded, it must take action against groups that actively obstruct enforcement efforts: "Lawmakers and law enforcement agencies must ensure that organizations working against federal authorities face real consequences for their actions."

Four workers at the Federal Emergency Management Agency are being fired for unilaterally sending a massive $59 million payment for hotels in New York City to house illegal aliens.
The "egregious payment" came about after they decided to go about "circumventing leadership" on the issue of payments of federal monies to sanctuary cities.
Fox News reported the firings come after Elon Musk explained on social media, "The DOGE team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants."
The report explained the FEMA works with Customs and Border Control to dispense money to the Shelter and Services Program, which provides housing and other benefits for illegal aliens released into the United States.
This was an exploding program under Joe Biden's administration, which allowed millions of illegal aliens to cross into America under his open borders agenda.
As part of that, his administration reportedly lost track of hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied children., too.
President Trump already has instituted a number of program changes to crack down on illegal immigration, and to round up known criminal illegal aliens and deport them.
City officials in New York admitted to Fox the city had gotten the money that had been designated by Biden for housing.
"Of the $59.3 million, $19 million was for direct hotel costs, while the balance funded other services such as food and security. According to NY City Hall, the funds were not part of a disaster relief grant," the report explained.
"These funds have been misappropriated going back to the Biden administration and New York City – a sanctuary city – has been wasting billions of dollars of taxpayer money to provide free housing, clothing, food, education and healthcare to illegal immigrants, including criminal aliens that are here illegally," charged, Rep. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y.
"That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high-end hotels for illegals," Musk, who heads Trump's Department of Government Efficiency, said. "A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds."
Musk noted, "Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President's executive order. That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals! A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds."
Biden embedded throughout the government multiple ways for tax money to be spent on illegal aliens after they break the law and enter the U.S. without permission. One of Trump's agenda points is to eliminate that spending.

Chelsea Clinton is firing back against what she calls "lies" and "absurd claims" that she was gifted $84 million from USAID, the United States Agency for International Development.
"Lies and conspiracies about my family and me are nothing new. Still, I am particularly troubled by the absurd claims that continue to pervade social media this week, fact checks be damned," the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, wrote Monday on X.
"Facts: I'm proud of the Clinton Foundation work that has helped tens of millions of people worldwide. Our impact speaks for itself. I don't take a cent from the Foundation. Never have. In fact, my family personally contributes meaningfully to our work each year.
"Misinformation isn't just noise – it's a weapon. Efforts to undermine good work won't stop us, and we stand in solidarity with those who are committed to truth, public health, progress, and the endless potential of our future."
WND reported last week how Elon Musk, the head of DOGE, the Department of Governmental Efficiency, posted and then deleted a "Wow" reaction to claims Chelsea allegedly received some $84 million in U.S. taxpayer funding.
"USAID gave Chelsea Clinton tens of millions of dollars and partnered with their sex trafficking organization The Clinton Foundation," wrote author and journalist Liz Crokin on X.
"In 2010, then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton helped oversee $4.4 billion that Congress had earmarked for 'recovery' efforts in Haiti by the USAID in 2010."
Crokin continued: "The level of corruption and criminality – including crimes that are deemed capital offenses with death penalty as a potential punishment – are astounding and unprecedented.
"We must demand accountability and justice for these crimes."
The left-leaning so-called fact-checker Snopes.com indicated the claim Chelsea herself had received the money directly was false.
"A graph that social media users claimed showed Chelsea Clinton received $84 million from USAID is actually a reference to the Clinton Foundation," it wrote.
"Further, government data from fiscal years 2008-24 showed that USAID had not given more than $7.5 million to that foundation. Finally, tax returns show Chelsea Clinton does not receive any compensation for her work at the foundation."
However, Britain's Daily Mail reports: "But even though Snopes clarified that Chelsea hadn't received direct compensation, the Clinton Foundation has received financial awards from the U.S. government, such as in 2010 when the were granted $49,998 for AmeriCorps National.
"And AmeriCorps has roots in the Clinton Foundation, as former-President Bill Clinton signed the National and Community Trust Act of 1993 that brought the federal organization to life.
"USAID also gave money to the Clinton Health Access Initiative, a self-run off-shoot of the Clinton Foundation, totaling $7.49million – spending the majority of it between 2019 to 2021."
Chelsea Clinton's post on Monday is getting fierce reaction.

Instead of dismissing criticism as 'lies' and 'absurd claims,' perhaps some real accountability is in order. Your family's legacy isn't one of transparency or public service – it's one of influence-peddling and backroom deals.

Chuck Schumer, the leader of the minority Democrats in the Senate, has created a tipline for concerned Americans to expose "corruption, abuses of power, and threats to public safety."
His name was just about the first to show up.
He announced his tipline, offering whistleblower protections, this week: "Today, I'm calling on our brave public servants: I'm launching a new portal for anyone who wants to expose corruption, abuses of power, and threats to public safety with the legal protections of being a whistleblower."
His own name immediately appeared, as he was called out for standing on the steps of the Supreme Court during a pro-abortion rally, and screaming threats at Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.
He threatened they would "pay the price" if their decisions didn't make him happy.
Commentator Katie Pavlich also submitted his name.
As did Mollie Hemingway, of the Federalist.
Elon Musk joined.
Schumer's actual threat to the two justices was, "I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price! You won't know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions."
Fox News reported others were mentioned as suspects, too.
They included Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and "the entire corrupt Democrat party that weaponized & abused the federal government for the past four years." That comment was from Sen. Ted Cruz.
Fox noted the "widespread mockery" delivered to Schumer after his announcement.
In fact, comedian Tim Young noted, to Schumer, "We already have that … it's called DOGE," for the Department of Government Efficiency, an organization created by President Donald Trump to root out waste and fraud in the federal government spending.
Two Venezuelan planes left the U.S. Monday to return 190 of its nationals deported under President Donald Trump's illegal immigration crackdown, Fox News reported. The Convisa airliners were sent by the South American country to retrieve its citizens from U.S. Army base Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.
The flights were arranged as part of Trump's plan to send migrants illegally in the U.S. back to their home countries. Except for a brief return to the practice in 2023, deportation flights had been stopped until now.
Richard Grenell, Trump's envoy, posted a photo of the occasion. "Thank you, @realDonaldTrump. Two planes of illegal immigrants left El Paso today headed to Venezuela - paid for by the Venezuelans," he posted to X, formerly Twitter, Monday.

Trump's plan represents a return to sanity after President Joe Biden's term. Since 2021, the Southern border has seen a surge of immigrants coming from Venezuela and other nations that previously refused to accept deportees.
However, Grenell's visit to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in Caracas last month prompted a change of heart. "This is the world we want, a world of peace, understanding, dialogue, and cooperation," Maduro said.
Trump touted Grenell's success in securing permission for "all Venezuela illegal aliens who were encamped in the U.S., including gang members of Tren de Aragua," to be sent home with their flight paid for by the receiving nation. Moreover, six Americans held in Venezuela were released back to the U.S.
The Venezuelan government took issue with "ill-intentioned" and "false" statements about Tren de Aragua gang members being part of the deportation. However, it confirmed that the return flight indeed took place on Monday.
Still, the return to sanity doesn't stop there. Secretary of State Marco Rubio brokered similar agreements with Guatemala and El Salvador to ship their citizens back to their respective countries.
Trump's successes keep piling up on the illegal immigration front. In a separate Fox News report, Trump's standoff with Mexico to deal with illegal immigration or face tariffs ended in an agreement to send 10,000 Mexican National Guard troops to secure the border from their side.
The president made the deal after speaking with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. "It was a very friendly conversation wherein she agreed to immediately supply 10,000 Mexican Soldiers on the Border separating Mexico and the United States," Trump touted on his Truth Social.
"These soldiers will be specifically designated to stop the flow of fentanyl, and illegal migrants into our Country," he went on. Trump noted that there would be a one-month reprieve while the administration negotiates with its Mexican counterparts.
"I look forward to participating in those negotiations, with President Sheinbaum, as we attempt to achieve a 'deal' between our two Countries," Trump added. He successfully addressed illegal immigration while preserving friendly relations between the nations.
Trump's presidency is already off to a winning start. He has done in a matter of weeks what Democrats spent years saying was impossible, and he's just getting started.
Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) showed up to vote in the Senate on Monday in a wheelchair and wearing a leg brace after he fell down the steps outside the Senate chamber on Wednesday.
Aides had to help McConnell from the wheelchair into his SUV after the vote, according to video footage posted on X.

McConnell is 82, the same age as former President Joe Biden. His birthday is next week.
He has had a series of falls and accidents over the past two years, including several while he was the Senate Minority Leader.
After he fell on Wednesday, he was helped up by Sens. Steve Daines (R-MT) and Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) and tried to walk it off, but must have sought medical attention later.
As Minority Leader, McConnell kept a tight grip on the campaign dollars the party gave to Senate candidates, giving him much leverage when seeking support for or opposition to legislation.
He stepped down as Republican leader at the end of the 2024 session, but has said he wants to serve out the rest of his Senate term, which will end in 2027.
McConnell is still the chairman of the Rules and Administration Committee and also sits on the Appropriations Committee and the Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee.
Which is to say, he still has some considerable power in the Senate even without being leader.
He's not the oldest senator in the chamber right now, either. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is 91 and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is 83.
Sens. Jim Risch (R-ID), Ben Cardin (D-MD), Angus King (I-ME), and Dick Durbin (D-IL) are all 80 or older, but younger than McConnell.
More than half of the chamber is over 60, but that makes sense when you consider that Senate seats are statewide offices and many senators spend years in local or House seats.
The average age in the previous Senate was 64.

Trump survived two separate assassination attempts during his re-election campaign, with a gunman bloodying Trump in the ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania just weeks before another man tried to shoot Trump at his Florida golf course.
The campaign's concerns were heightened by a warning that Iran had smuggled operatives with surface-to-air missiles into the United States.
Shortly after the second attempt on Trump's life on September 15, Trump and his co-campaign manager, Susie Wiles - now his chief of staff - flew to an event on a decoy plane owned by Trump's friend Steve Witkoff, who is now Trump's envoy to the Middle East.

The Secret Service also warned after a September 18 rally on Long Island that someone might try to shoot Trump's motorcade. The Long Island rally was held just days after a crazed gunman targeted Trump at his West Palm Beach golf course.

During a trip to Pennsylvania the next week, Secret Service agents noticed a drone following Trump's motorcade and disabled it with an electromagnetic gun, Axios reported.
The Iranian regime has long wanted revenge for Trump's decision to kill top general Qassem Soleimani in 2020. President Trump has signaled a return to the "maximum pressure" policy of his first term, warning Iran last week that he has given orders to "obliterate" the country if its leaders ever try to kill him.
