A federal judge refused California Gov. Gavin Newsom's petition to stop President Donald Trump from deploying troops to break up riots in the Golden State, the Daily Caller reported. Trump has been forced to call on the Marines and National Guard as protests against immigration enforcement have turned violent in recent days.

Trump is attempting to restore law and order to Los Angeles while California resists such intervention. A violent mob has been rioting over enforcement measures from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as Los Angeles officials stand by.

California sued in what the Department of Justice called a "legally meritless" case because Trump tried to clean it up. The DOJ contended that denying military intervention would be dangerous to federal law enforcement and Homeland Security.

Tuesday's decision is not final as U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer scheduled a hearing for Thursday to further examine the matter. Bryer refused to grant an emergency block but will hear more testimony from both sides before rendering a verdict, while the chaos continues in Los Angeles.

The wrong battle

Rather than containing the riots in Los Angeles, Newsom and California Attorney General Rob Bonta sued the Trump administration. The president deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to attempt to quell the violent uprising in the city.

The administration was prepared to send an additional 4,000 troops, including U.S. Marines, to address the issue. Newsom and Bonta worry that this is an overreach of the federal government and of Trump's authority.

Trump maintains that Newsom left him no choice. He slammed Newsom in a post to Truth Social Monday, calling him "incompetent" because he was "unable to provide protection" against the "out of control mob of agitators, troublemakers, and/or insurrectionists."

While Newsom complains about Trump's action, the president said he had called Newsom and urged him to "do a better job" to get a handle on the situation. Newsom denies he ever spoke to Trump, claiming, "There was no call. Not even a voicemail."

Inciting incident

According to Fox News, the riots began because ICE agents launched raids on illegal immigrants in the sanctuary city. It has sparked off days of looting, rioting, and vandalism that often include anti-American sentiments.

Predictably, Newsom is siding with the criminals. "Instead of focusing on undocumented immigrants with serious criminal records and people with final deportation orders, a strategy that both parties have long supported, this administration is pushing mass deportations, indiscriminately targeting hardworking immigrant families regardless of their roots or risk," the governor had claimed.

The governor blames the use of the American military for the escalation. "If some of us can be snatched off the streets without a warrant, based only on suspicion or skin color, then none of us are safe," Newsom claimed.

However, as Vice President J.D. Vance pointed out, it's Newsom's support for illegal immigration that "allowed Los Angeles to turn into a war zone." In a post to X, Vance charged that Gavin and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass share the goal "to promote mass migration into our country."

These riots have persisted because the leftists in California support the cause of illegal immigrants and don't seem to mind mass destruction. Trump has tried to stop the madness by invoking his power as president, but all the Democrats can do is cry foul.

President Donald Trump's supported New Jersey nominee won the Republican primary to succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy in 2025.

The Republican nomination for New Jersey governor was won by former GOP state senator Jack Ciattarelli, who defeated four challengers in the primary on Tuesday. The race has been a war for Trump's support for months, as Fox News reported.

Former businessman and conservative talk radio broadcaster Bill Spadea and state Sen. Jon Bramnick, a lawyer and 10-year Assembly GOP leader, were beaten out by Ciattarelli.

The victory

New Jersey's polls closed at 8 o'clock in the evening, and the Associated Press already predicted Ciattarelli would win less than 20 minutes later.

In his acceptance speech, Ciattarelli expressed gratitude to Trump, who enjoys spending summer weekends at his New Jersey golf club in Bedminster.

"To our most well-known part-time New Jersey resident, who honored me with his endorsement and strong support, thank you, President Donald J. Trump," Ciattarelli said to cheers.

Upcoming election

In the upcoming November general election. Ciattarelli will be pitted against Mikie Sherrill, a Democrat and a former federal prosecutor and Navy helicopter pilot who was projected by the Associated Press to have won the Democratic gubernatorial primary.

"Jack knows what it takes to provide New Jersey families with much-needed relief and has proven that he has the plan to fix New Jersey with commonsense solutions," Republican Governors Association Chair Brian Kemp, the governor of Georgia, said in a statement.

"Meanwhile, Democrat Mikie Sherrill must defend her failed record in Washington that has led to skyrocketing costs, failed schools and left New Jersey families struggling," Kemp argued.

How he won

Ciattarelli and Spadea engaged in a heated debate for months during the GOP primary, arguing about who had been more faithful to Trump.

The president gave his endorsement to Ciattarelli last month, despite the fact that Ciattarelli had a failed in 2017 in his bid for the Republican primary.

After waiting four years, he finally won the nomination and surprised everyone by running a strong general election campaign, almost unseating Murphy.

From Trump

"I'm asking you to get out and vote for a true champion for the people of your state — Jack Ciattarelli. He's been a friend of mine, and he's been a real success story," Trump told supporters when he addressed a rally before early voting started in New Jersey.

In a recent interview with Fox News Digtal, Cittarrelli praised the president's endorsement, calling it "a really big deal," and went on to say, "the president's doing very, very well in New Jersey." Cittarrelli noted that Trump's re-election victory in November solidified his grip over the GOP.

The fact that Spadea was unable to secure Trump's support "was certainly disappointing."

"I mean, we made no bones about this. We absolutely wanted the president's endorsement. Unfortunately, the president endorsed a poll and not a plan," Spadea told Fox News Digital last week.

The Democratic National Committee is in the spotlight as it reassesses David Hogg's position as vice chair due to concerns over compliance with gender parity rules, the Daily Caller reported.

The controversy emerges as the DNC prepares to review a procedural claim suggesting Hogg's election violated the requirement for gender balance.

David Hogg, 25, was elected as a vice chair of the Democratic National Committee alongside Malcolm Kenyatta in February. This election has come under scrutiny due to an alleged infraction against a rule intended to ensure gender balance among top positions. The rule mandates the vice chairs to be "as equally divided as practicable" by gender.

A turmoil started brewing when Kalyn Free, a rival candidate, contended that the combined ballot format facilitated the election of two male candidates, effectively disadvantaging female competitors. The Credentials Committee of the DNC backed this grievance.

Discontent Within DNC Sparks Discussion

The upheaval surrounding Hogg's election is exacerbated by his vocal commitment to challenging current party incumbents. He recently hinted at supporting primary contenders through a new political action committee, intensifying tensions.

The internal friction escalated to a dramatic confrontation between DNC Chairman Ken Martin and Hogg during a Zoom meeting on May 15. Martin expressed great frustration over the situation and conveyed doubts about his leadership role.

The DNC Chairman stated his concerns in an emotional exchange, suggesting the debacle had harmed his capacity to exhibit effective leadership. During this discussion, Hogg proposed a compromise, aiming to distance himself from sensitive DNC data to alleviate tensions. However, Martin refused this proposal.

Timing Of Challenge Faces Scrutiny

Critics argue the procedural challenge’s timing aligns suspiciously with Hogg's political maneuvers, suggesting ulterior strategic motives. Nicole Kelly, a voice in the party, characterized the DNC’s actions as an attempt to overturn election results they weren't content with.

"They don’t like the results and they’re looking to redo the election in their favor,” Kelly remarked, underscoring dissatisfaction with the situation. Her concerns reflect broader apprehension about the DNC’s adherence to its own regulations.

Kelly emphasized, “The DNC followed its own rules when it elected him the first time. Now they’re giving essentially leeway for a complaint that’s politically timed conveniently.”

Potential Implications Of Ballot Restructuring

As the proposal to redefine election procedures is scrutinized, potential implications for Hogg and other male candidates emerge. Changing the voting format might effectively pit male candidates against each other.

Kelly shared her reservations about this development, asserting, “By holding and separating the ballots, as they’re choosing to do here, that then essentially puts males against each other." She pointed out that the newly suggested procedure seems tailored to favor incumbent candidates.

“The way that they’re using the procedure of their own party would put Malcolm back in, conveniently,” Kelly elaborated, highlighting perceived biases in the proposed changes.

This political turmoil has cast a shadow over the unity of the Democratic National Committee, with Hogg finding himself at the center of a procedural storm. The ongoing discussions within the DNC reveal deep-seated challenges in balancing internal rule adherence with political maneuvering.

The outcome of this affair could redefine future procedures within the DNC and shape the organization's approach to leadership, inclusivity, and fairness.

The nation's top public health authority, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has just made a decision on vaccines that is sending shockwaves through Washington D.C.

In one fell swoop, Kennedy has fired all 17 members of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's vaccine advisory panel, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

While announcing the move, Kennedy repeated his familiar criticism that vaccine guidance has been compromised by industry-backed science.

"A clean sweep is necessary to reestablish public confidence in vaccine science," Kennedy said in a statement.

"ACIP's new members will prioritize public health and evidence-based medicine. The Committee will no longer function as a rubber stamp for industry profit-taking agendas."

Kennedy purges vaccine panel

Kennedy was narrowly confirmed to his Cabinet position by the Senate, overcoming skepticism of his critical comments on vaccines. He downplayed his anti-vaccine views at the time, although he never actually recanted them.

Since becoming the nation's top public health official, Kennedy has taken a series of moves to "make America healthy again," targeting ingredients in the food supply and bringing vaccines under closer scrutiny.

Kennedy's critics see his latest move as a public health coup that will introduce anti-vaccine policy at the CDC's influential committee.

The impacts of Kennedy's move could be far-reaching, since most doctors follow ACIP's recommendations, which also influence which shots get covered by insurance. Critics of Kennedy's move say it will lower vaccination rates, resulting in a rise in preventable disease.

Some vaccines "won't be recommended at all" and other some shots could "no longer be reimbursable by insurance companies", said Peter Lurie, a former FDA official.

"As a consequence, we will see still further declines in vaccination rates, and then a resurgence of the diseases that they could have prevented," he said.

No more "rubber stamps"

Defending the move, Kennedy pointed out that all 17 members of ACIP were appointed by the Biden administration, which has faced criticism for politicizing the COVID vaccine. A recent Senate report found that the CDC waited months to alert the public to myocarditis risks as the Biden administration was pressuring the nation to get the shot.

Kennedy said that not removing the current ACIP members would leave the Trump administration unable to appoint a new majority until 2028.

"The committee has been plagued with persistent conflicts of interest and has become little more than a rubber stamp for any vaccine," Kennedy wrote in the Wall Street Journal.

So far, Kennedy has largely kept his pledge to not limit access to vaccines, but the CDC recently removed the COVID-19 vaccine from the CDC's immunization schedule for "healthy children and pregnant women."

Republican senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA), one of the key senators who had to be persuaded to confirm Kennedy, said he is watching the nix developments carefully.

“Of course, now the fear is that the ACIP will be filled up with people who know nothing about vaccines except suspicion,” Cassidy said in a social media post. “I’ve just spoken with Secretary Kennedy, and I’ll continue to talk with him to ensure this is not the case.”

A group of anti-ICE protesters stormed Trump Tower on Monday to demand the return of immigrants "kidnapped" by the Trump administration.

The small demonstration of "mostly grey-haired" protesters, the New York Post notes, was a muted echo of the migrant riots that have raged for days in Los Angeles.

The New York Police Department arrested 24 people who occupied the lobby of Trump's iconic Fifth Avenue building. There was no immediate report of charges being filed.

Trump Tower occupied

The protesters voiced complaints about aliens who have been deported to El Salvador's infamous CECOT prison without "due process". The Trump administration brought one of those immigrants,  Kilmar Abrego Garcia, back to the United States last week to face charges of human trafficking.

“We are demanding that the administration bring back everyone from CECOT to the United States, release them ICE custody, return them to their homes and families and allow them their day in court,” the protesters said.

The protesters ignored multiple police commands to disperse, and the cops ended up dragging them out in zip-ties.

"This is the New York City Police Department. You are occupying these premises unlawfully and without permission. I am ordering you to leave these premises now. If you refuse to leave, you may be subject to arrest,” police said.

Anti-ICE unrest spreads

Anti-ICE demonstrations have been spreading across the country after an explosion of violent unrest in Los Angeles over the weekend. Trump has deployed 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to protect federal property and restore order in the nation's second-largest city, where rioters have blocked roads and attacked law enforcement with concrete blocks and fireworks.

The protests in Los Angeles have been the largest, and most violent, to date in response to Trump's second-term immigration crackdown. Episodes of lawlessness have been observed on a smaller scale in other cities, including New York, where mobs of rioters have also attempted to block ICE operations around federal buildings.

New York mayor Eric Adams has warned that anarchy in the Big Apple will not be tolerated.

“The escalation of protests in Los Angeles over the last couple of days is unacceptable and would not be tolerated if attempted in our city,” Adams said during a press conference Monday alongside NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

Despite the violent backlash ICE has received, more than half of voters approve of Trump's deportation plans, a new CBS poll found.

House Representative Mark Green (R-TN) is quitting Congress to join the private sector, further shrinking Republicans' narrow majority.

Green, who represents Tennessee's 7th District, said he will resign after the House votes again on President Trump's reconciliation package, also known as the "Big, Beautiful Bill."

"It is with a heavy heart that I announce my retirement from Congress. Recently, I was offered an opportunity in the private sector that was too exciting to pass up. As a result, today I notified the Speaker and the House of Representatives that I will resign from Congress as soon as the House votes once again on the reconciliation package," Green said.

GOP congressman retires

An Army vet, Green initially said he would retire in February of 2024, but President Trump dissuaded him from stepping aside.

Green's retirement from his reliably Republican seat is not expected to impact the balance of power, although it will temporarily cost Republicans a vote.

“Though I planned to retire at the end of the previous Congress, I stayed to ensure that President Trump’s border security measures and priorities make it through Congress,” the congressman said Monday.

“By overseeing the border security portion of the reconciliation package, I have done that. After that, I will retire, and there will be a special election to replace me.”

Divorce scandal

The retirement comes after Green filed for divorce from his wife, Camilla, who accused him of having an affair in a September group text to lawmakers.

“I have offered reconciliation, and he wants nothing of it and has insisted on a divorce,” she wrote. "Satan has rewritten our marriage in his mind."

A woman later told Politico that she was involved with Green, whose wife had wrongly identified a different woman as his lover.

House vote upcoming

As chair of the Homeland Security Committee, Green led the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the Biden border crisis.

Green also shaped House Republicans' marquee border bill during the Biden era, HR2, or the Secure the Border Act.

The House passed Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill," which includes billions in new spending on immigration enforcement, by only one vote last month.

The bill, the product of delicate negotiations between different factions in the party, is expected to face further changes in the Senate.

The House will need to vote again if the Senate makes revisions. Trump wants the bill on his desk by July 4th.

Boasting the plan will put "the lives of young Americans on the right financial path," the White House announced on Monday the Republicans' domestic policy bill will create a $1,000 investment account for every American newborn.

"The passage of the one Big Beautiful Bill will literally change the lives of working, middle class families across American by delivering the largest tax cuts in history, increasing the child tax credit, and by creating this incredible new 'Trump Account' program…"

The contribution "would be placed in an index fund tied to the overall stock market and managed by the child's legal guardians. The accounts will start at $1,000 per child and guardians or other private entities can contribution up to $5,000 additional … every year throughout the child's life," explained a report from CNN.

Michael Dell, founder of Dell computers, said, "The creation of investment accounts for every child will compound into substantial nest eggs providing support for education, home ownership, and starting families."

Officials for Uber, Altimeter Capital, ARM Corp., Salesforce, ServiceNow, Robinhood and Goldman Sachs joined the president in the announcement.

The president explained, "It is a pro family initiative that will help millions of Americans harness the strength of our economy to lift up the next generation, and they'll really be getting a big jump on life, especially if we get a little bit lucky with some of the numbers and the economies."

The recipient of the account could access funds when they turn 18 for schooling, training or a first-time home purchase. The full balance could be released at age 30.

House Speaker Mike Johnson noted, "If you have a 401(k), you understand the power of investing early for the future. Trump Accounts take that same principle and they apply it from the very beginning of Americans' lives … It's a bold, transformative policy that gives every eligible American child a financial head start from day one … Trump Accounts are all about setting up the next generation for success."

House Ways & Means Committee Chair Jason Smith added, "The Trump investment accounts will be a game-changer for new parents even before their newborn baby can walk or talk. Their child will have money saved to one day learn a trade, start a business, or to buy a home. Every child born under this policy will have a better shot at a future. It does not matter if they live on a city block or on a county road — this will make a significant difference to their lives."

Just as President Donald Trump is cracking down on criminal activity by illegal aliens in Los Angeles – there have been a couple days of riots opposing federal law enforcement raids on cartel operations there – one governor has gone the other direction.

He's signed a new law that expands his state's protections for illegal aliens, who under federal law actually have committed crimes by entering the United States without permission.

report at Complete Colorado outlines what the new scheme adopted by a Democrat majority legislature and signed by Democrat Gov. Jared Polis means.

As of now, state judicial and legislative branches, and local governments, are barred from sharing personal immigration-related data with federal officials. Federal authorities now are denied access to childcare facilities, hospitals and schools, unless they have a warrant.

Also, local governments cannot work with federal law enforcement agencies to detain someone facing civil immigration proceedings, and any information on an enrolled child or patient cannot be shared with federal investigators.

Among other restrictions, the report explained.

The bill, signed recently, is the Protect Civil Rights Immigration Status, and was a top priority for leftists in the legislature.

The report explained state lawmakers are continuing to be "isolating Colorado from the Trump administration's deportation policies."

State practice in Colorado already had limited interaction and information sharing between local and federal officers.

Despite the facts embedded in state law, Polis still claimed that state and local agencies work with federal agents "identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting criminals, regardless of their immigration status."

Technically, all those who are in the United States illegally are in violation of the federal law, and are "criminals."

Violators of the law would face a $50,000 fine, the report said.

Further, the law prevents jails from delaying the release of a criminal illegal alien when requested by a federal immigration official. And it "allows the governor to deny entry into Colorado to another state's National Guard troops for immigration enforcement unless 'the military force from another state is acting on federal orders and acting as a part of the United States armed forces,'" the report said.

And illegal aliens no longer need to document that they've applied for lawful status before gaining the special privilege of in-state tuition.

The report noted Rob Natelson, senior fellow in constitutional jurisprudence at the Denver-based Independence Institute, cited the "constitutional absurdities" of the agenda.

For instance, the bill recites the 10th Amendment states' rights, but neglects to explain that immigration is not one of the powers "reserved to the states."

Former President Barack Obama has been unusually quiet as the left mounts its resistance against President Donald Trump, The Atlantic reported. Staff writer and book author Mark Leibovich believes the former leader is just what the Democratic Party needs to reverse its decline.

The left can't seem to let go of the past. Whether it's failed candidates like Hillary Clinton and Stacy Abrams or their previous winners like Obama, they believe recycling the same politicians is the key to future success.

Liebovich was almost begging Obama to return to the forefront of politics in his essay "Where Is Barack Obama?" published Sunday. He demonstrated no awareness that Obama was part of the problem Democrats face today.

"Trump has begun his second term with a continuous spree of democracy-shaking, economy-quaking, norm-obliterating action. And Obama, true to form, has remained carefully above it all," Liebovich gushed.

Missing in action

The author hit the usual talking points about Trump to make the case for a more prominent role for Obama in the public discourse these days. While he acknowledges that Obama hasn't been completely missing in action, he believes the former president isn't doing enough.

"No matter how brazen Trump becomes, the most effective communicator in the Democratic Party continues to opt for minimal communication. His 'audacity of hope' presidency has given way to the fierce lethargy of semi-retirement," Liebovich charged.

While Obama pops up for serious reasons every now and then, he also seems to revel in more cushy cultural roles like his "summer and year-end book, music, and film recommendations." The author sees this as unacceptable in light of Trump's presidency.

"In normal times, no one would deny Obama these diversions. He performed the world’s most stressful job for eight years, served his country, made his history, and deserved to kick back and do the usual ex-president things: start a foundation, build a library, make unspeakable amounts of money," Liebovich contends.

"But the inevitable Trump-era counterpoint is that these are not normal times. And Obama’s detachment feels jarringly incongruous with the desperation of his longtime admirers—even more so given Trump’s assaults on what Obama achieved in office," he added.

Too much faith

Liebovich mentions Obama's one contribution to the 2024 presidential election, which was convincing then-President Joe Biden to give up his reelection bid. The author downplays the implications of the Democrats' loss in relation to Obama's continued popularity.

"Obama did insert himself in the 2024 election, reportedly taking an aggressive behind-the-scenes role last summer in trying to nudge Biden out of the race. He delivered a showstopper speech at the Democratic National Convention and campaigned several times for Kamala Harris in the fall," Liebovich claimed.

However, the truth is that Obama just couldn't push Biden or then-Vice President Kamala Harris, his replacement, over the finish line. If Obama were the oracle Liebovich makes him out to be, it would have been an easy win for either Democrat.

The author closes with a fantasy scenario where Obama would steal Trump's thunder during the June 14 parade in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the Army’s 250th anniversary. "Few things would fire up Democrats like a head-to-head matchup between Trump and Obama," Liebovich added.

What Democrats fail to realize is that Obama's popularity was never as universal as they made it out to be, and handwringing over his diminished role is a waste of time. Perhaps Obama is trying to preserve his legacy by lying low while the party implodes under its own weight.

Police arrested dozens of protesters who descended on New York City's Trump Tower Monday to protest immigration enforcement, Breitbart reported. The New York Police Department told them to leave several times before zip-tying and removing those who refused to vacate the premises.

Several protests sprang up against President Donald Trump's illegal immigration crackdown over the last week. They believe that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement should not deport these people who are in the country illegally.

Moreover, they are incensed that these dangerous criminal migrants are being sent to El Salvador's infamous CECOT prison. During the Manhattan protest, many in the crowd chanted, "Bring them back."

As one female protest leader explained, they "are demanding that the administration bring back everyone from CECOT to the United States, release them from ICE custody, return them to their homes and families, and allow them their day in court." Many of the protesters found themselves on the wrong side of the law.

Dozens in custody

In an effort to break up the event, NYPD played several warnings for what the New York Post called a "mostly grey-haired crowd" of protesters. "This is the New York City Police Department," the audio recording said.

"You are occupying these premises unlawfully and without permission. I am ordering you to leave these premises now," the police warned.

"If you refuse to leave, you may be subject to arrest," the message said. Despite the warnings, people remained, and the police were forced to remove around 24 people who refused to leave the building's lobby.

Police loaded them into vans and escorted them out of the area, though it's unclear whether they will face charges. Footage of the protest and audio recording were shared on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday.

History repeats

The protest at Trump Tower was resolved without injury or damage, but the same can't be said everywhere. Anti-ICE protests on the left coast have erupted into their predictable pattern of destruction and anarchy as leftist media once again downplay the situation as they have done before.

According to Fox News, news outlets in Los Angeles are once again sympathizing with the people causing damage and destruction. A local ABC7 Los Angeles anchor, Jory Rand, said these riots were "just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn."

Rather than condemning the rioters, Rand cautioned against pushing back. "It could turn very volatile if you move law enforcement in there in the wrong way, and turn what is just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn into a massive confrontation and altercation between officers and demonstrators," Rand said.

Reporter Tim Caputo at the scene similarly warned not to "agitate the crowd" by stopping it. "The police presence, the flashbangs, the tear gas, those are provoking the crowd to fire back, but it’s tough because police are not part of the immigration," Caputo said.

These violent protests need to be stopped right away, but the left is not willing to do so because they believe it would be akin to siding with Trump. However, they have instead shown themselves to be complicit in crime and chaos by taking this stance, and it's shameful.
