Democrats have erupted in rage at a raid on a California marijuana farm operation by agents for the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement but are facing backlash because the operation was caught exploiting children for its labor.

report at the Hill said the Department of Homeland Security confirmed that undocumented minors were found working at the cannabis scheme in the raid.

KTLA reported federal immigration officers and National Guard members carried out raids at two cannabis farm locations and arrested dozens, including illegal alien children.

Hundreds of protesters staged obstructive maneuvers during the law enforcement operation, and there were some violent clashes with law enforcement.

The two sites where operations were held were Glass House Farms locations in Camarillo and Carpinteria.

U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli confirmed, "Federal agents are executing a search warrant at this marijuana farm. Agents have already arrested multiple individuals for impeding this operation and will continue to make arrests. Don't interfere. You will be arrested and charged with a federal offense."

Luis McArthur, Oxnard's mayor, went online to complain the ICE raid on one location was "unjust and unwarranted," prompting criticism for his advocacy for "CHILD LABOR."

Law enforcement eventually used tear gas as protesters decided to obstruct the officers by blocking roadways.

One person apparently shot at federal officers, and on Friday was being sought for investigation of possible federal charges. The FBI offered a $50,000 award for information leading to the conviction in that case.

Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott revealed that 10 undocumented minors were found working at Camarillo, eight of them unaccompanied.

That opened an investigation into the corporation for child labor violations.

Fire department workers responded to several people affected by the tear gas.

At the Carpinteria operation, state Rep. Salud Carbajal, D-Santa Barbara, tried to force his way past federal agents, but was turned around.

His later statement claimed he was troubled by a lack of transparency in the DHS.

"I will be demanding answers from the Department of Homeland Security to find out who they detained and where the detainees are being taken," he said. "These militarized ICE raids are not how you keep our communities safe. This kind of chaos only traumatizes families and tears communities apart."

Gov. Gavin Newsom posted a statement online calling President Donald Trump "the real scum," triggering responders to question him why there were children working marijuana fields.

The Daily Caller News Foundation reported leftists were left "fuming" over the raid.

It reported Newsom posted, "Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields. Trump calls me Newscum — but he's the real scum."

Arizona Sen. Ruben Gallego charged, "Instead of prioritizing dangerous criminals Trump is targeting families that have been here for years picking our food. The public outcry and protests are occurring because the American public knows this is wrong."

That triggered a flood of comments pointing that that marijuana is not considered "food."

Also misunderstanding was Rep. Jimmy Gomez, who said, "How many MS-13 gang members are waking up at 3 a.m. to pick strawberries? O'yeah, zero! Trump said he'd go after 'bad hombres,' but he's targeting the immigrant farm workers who feed America."

DHS responded, "At the California marijuana facility, [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and CBP law enforcement rescued 8 unaccompanied migrant children from what looks like exploitation, violation of child labor laws and potentially human trafficking or smuggling. Yet, Gavin Newsom, Ruben Gallego and other politicians continue to demonize and attack the law enforcement officers who bravely rescued these children."

President Donald Trump, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump, visited Texas Friday to survey the results of last weekend's flash floods that left more than 100 dead, and at least that number still missing.

Drainages through the Texas hill country filled with water 20 and even 30 feet deep in a matter of minutes after a deluge estimated at 10 inches to a foot of rain fell in a matter of hours.

Dozens of victims were from Camp Mystic, a Christian camp for girls along the banks of the Guadalupe River, which rose from a depth of about a foot to an estimated 34 feet in the dark.

Cabins, homes, cars, people all were swept away.

The victims include at least 36 children in a county that had declined to install early-warning monitors after failing to secure state funding.

Trump expressed support for a new effort to take on that project.

Reuters reported he said, "After having seen this horrible event, I would imagine you'd put alarms up in some form."

Melania Trump promises prayers for the families hit so hard.

"My deepest sympathy to all of the parents who lost beautiful young souls," she said. "We are grieving with you. Our nation is grieving with you. We just met with the wonderful families."

The president said, "The first lady and I are here in Texas to express the love and support, and the anguish of our entire nation, in the aftermath of this really horrific and deadly flood."

President Donald Trump is granting "Total Authorization" for self-defense by any means necessary for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, Fox News reported. This comes after agents were attacked while carrying out a mission.

Agents conducted an immigration raid at Glass House Farms in California on Thursday. They were met with violence from protesters directed at enforcement officials on the legally operated cannabis farm.

Authorities were forced to use tear gas to quell the uprising. Trump did not take kindly to this action and took to his Truth Social on Friday to spell out how he would empower agents to fight back in the future.

Trump Fights Back

The president made his post while returning from viewing flood damage in Texas, where a deluge killed at least 12o people. Trump addressed the situation after he "watched in disbelief as THUGS were violently throwing rocks and bricks at ICE Officers while they were moving down a roadway in their car and/or official vehicle," Trump wrote.

"Tremendous damage was done to these brand new vehicles. I know for a fact that these Officers are having a hard time with allowing this to happen in that it shows such total disrespect for LAW AND ORDER," Trump continued.

He took action right away. "Therefore, I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, and Border Czar, Tom Homan, to instruct all ICE, Homeland Security, or any other Law Enforcement Officer who is on the receiving end of thrown rocks, bricks, or any other form of assault, to stop their car, and arrest these SLIMEBALLS, using whatever means is necessary to do so," Trump said.

"I am giving Total Authorization for ICE to protect itself, just like they protect the Public. I never want to see a car carrying a Law Enforcement Officer attacked again!" Trump asserted.

"AUTHORIZATION IMMEDIATELY GRANTED FOR ARREST AND INCARCERATION. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" the president concluded forcefully.

Violent Protest

The inciting incident for Trump's edict came on Thursday after protesters threw rocks at agents who were conducting official business. The farms were employing at least 10 illegal-alien juveniles illegally working for the marijuana growers, the New York Post reported.

Homan blamed Democrats for pushing the narrative that these are fascist crackdowns rather than the legitimate work of the federal government. "What happened in California is just another example of protesters becoming criminals, and they’ve been emboldened by even members of Congress who compare ICE to Nazis and racists and terrorists," Homan said Friday on Fox & Friends.

"I said months ago, it’s going to end up with a loss of life — and we had one the other day in Texas, and it’s not over," Homan added. On Monday, a gunman shot at border patrol agents as they began their workday.

Some reports also say that an anti-ICE protester fired into the crowd during the clash on Thursday. Democrats have been whipping people into a frenzy against these lawful raids, and it appears it's beginning to create violence and chaos.

This is a dangerous situation for all involved, but thankfully, Trump has empowered agents to protect themselves from it. It appears Trump has learned his lesson since his first term, and hopefully, protesters will think twice before hurting federal agents doing their jobs.

Another one of former President Joe Biden's top aides testified Friday in front of the House Oversight Committee about the apparent cover-up of his mental decline while in office, the New York Post reported. Ashley Williams, deputy director of Oval Office operations under Biden, is the third person in his close orbit to do so.

House Republicans are demanding answers about Biden's waning days in his administration, when he was granting pardons and issuing executive orders. They were signed mainly by an autopen, which calls into question their validity in light of his slipping condition.

Williams was questioned in a closed-door session that lasted nearly six hours about what she knew. Before the session, she was stripped of executive privilege, which compelled her to provide "unrestricted testimony" about Biden's mental acuity.

Afterwards, the former aide declined to give remarks to the press about what was said. "She’s cooperating, otherwise we would’ve been done," Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) said of Williams' testimony.

Mounting Evidence

The fact that Biden was in cognitive decline was obvious to anyone observing him during his presidency. However, it seems the people closest to him did what they could to obscure that fact the entire time.

Now that the dust has settled and Biden and the Democrats lost the 2024 election, the truth is coming to light. Sometimes, it comes in the form of what the people around him are not willing to say.

Earlier this week, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, who was the White House physician under Biden, asserted his Fifth Amendment right when answering the committee's questions. The message of this move to prevent self-incrimination is that perhaps there was something he knew about the president at the time, but wasn't saying.

Of course, O'Connor had much that could fall under doctor-patient privacy. Instead, these inquiries from Comer included questions such as "Were you ever told to lie about the president’s health?" and "Did you ever believe President Biden was unfit to execute his duties?"

All that O'Connor would offer to the committee was his name and a prepared statement. "I am not a lawyer, and I must follow my lawyer’s advice in this matter," O'Connor told the lawmakers.

Cover-up?

The attorney who advised O'Connor was none other than David Schertler, who advised former National Institutes of Health head Dr. Anthony Fauci when he was being grilled about the origins of COVID-19 by a congressional committee. Comer thinks this is more than a coincidence.

"This is unprecedented, and I think that this adds more fuel to the fire that there was a cover-up. It’s clear there was a conspiracy to cover up President Biden’s cognitive decline after Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s physician and family business associate, refused to answer any questions and chose to hide behind the Fifth Amendment," Comer said following O'Connor's testimony.

As for other witnesses, former Biden aide Neera Tanden appeared before the committee on June 24. After a five-hour interview with the Oversight Committee without executive privilege to hide behind, Tanden still maintained there was "absolutely not" a conspiracy to cover up Biden's mental decline.

It remains to be seen as other witnesses will come before the Oversight Committee next week. On Wednesday, the committee will hear from Anthony Bernal, a top aide for then-first lady Jill Biden, whom she referred to as her "work husband," who will have to testify or plead the fifth because he was deposed.

The issue isn't so much that Biden was incapacitated as it is that people around him were potentially willing to cover it up. Something this important and extensive is almost impossible to keep quiet, and it looks like the lid may soon be blown off after all.

President Donald Trump is reportedly poised to accomplish his goal of firing Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell after a bitter months-long feud.

The White House is reportedly probing renovations at the Federal Reserve's headquarters amid reports of cost overruns and inefficient management. Speculation is rising that the Trump administration is preparing to use this probe as a pretext for removing Powell.

The White House is now accusing Powell of “mismanaging the Fed” and suggesting that Powell had misled Congress about an “ostentatious” renovation of the central bank’s headquarters.

Trump has been itching to fire Powell for months, but cannot unilaterally fire Powell without cause. However, if the White House can put together a case that Powell indeed mismanaged this project, Trump now has cause to get rid of Powell.

Should Powell be removed from his position, it will be a massive victory for Trump, as Powell has made it clear that he opposes Trump's economic agenda and will hamstring Trump's economy with high interest rates.

Massively Overbudget

Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought is leading the charge in this new attack by the Trump administration on Powell.

Vought wrote in a post on X that, "While continuing to run a deficit since FY23 (the first time in the Fed’s history), the Fed is way over budget on the renovation of its headquarters. Now up to $2.5 billion, roughly $700 million over its initial cost. The cost per square foot is $1,923--double the cost for renovating an ordinary historic federal building. The Palace of Versailles would have cost $3 billion in today’s dollars!"

If these reports are accurate, Powell has squandered billions of taxpayer dollars with nothing to show for it. The Federal Reserve building, while an important piece of architecture, is certainly no Palace of Versailles.

Vought further pointed out that, "The plans for this project called for rooftop terrace gardens, VIP private dining rooms and elevators, water features, premium marble, and much more."

Powell himself has refuted these claims, but in a very dismissive mannerwhich suggests Powell is not interested in transparency but rather in protecting himself.

Corruption Or Incompetence

For a renovation project to go hundreds of millions of dollars over budget either suggests gross incompetence or worse, extreme corruption. Both would constitute grounds for Trump to dismiss Powell and finally name a replacement.

Vough's letter has requested that Powell respond to 11 questions about the renovation project within seven business days, but so far, there has been little to no communication from the Federal Reserve, considering the allegations.

Powell has held onto his post despite pressure from Trump for him to resign. It would be a bizarre twist if he were forced out thanks to grossly mismanaging something as mundane as renovating the Federal Reserve's headquarters.

An appeals court has overturned the conviction of Douglass Mackey, who was jailed after sharing memes against Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election, Fox News reported. The pro-Trump poster was convicted of conspiracy charges and sentenced to seven months in federal prison in 2023.

Mackey, who called himself an internet "troll" as he posted under the handle "Ricky Vaughn," had a moderately successful Twitter account with nearly 58,000 followers. He was a fan of Donald Trump, the GOP candidate at the time, and posted one meme telling prospective Clinton voters to cast their votes by text.

He was sentenced to federal prison by a Brooklyn jury for this, which many believed was outrageously unfair. On Wednesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit agreed and reversed that verdict, finding that "no rational jury" should have convicted him.

The three-judge panel unanimously ruled that the misleading memes did not constitute the crime of conspiracy for which he was convicted and jailed. "The jury’s verdict and the resulting judgment of conviction must be set aside," wrote Chief Judge Debra Ann Livingston.

Judges' Decision

According to the New York Post, Mackey's online activity consisted of sharing memes, some of them misleading people about when and where to vote. He would sometimes tailor them to specific voting blocs, but they were only seen by a relatively small number of users.

Mackey also would sometimes enter chat rooms and attempt to persuade others to vote for Trump. After reviewing the lower court's ruling, the appeals court found that convicting the 36-year-old for this activity was incorrect, especially on the conspiracy angle.

"The mere fact that Mackey posted the memes, even assuming that he did so with the intent to injure other citizens in the exercise of their right to vote, is not enough, standing alone, to prove a violation of [federal law]. The government was obligated to show that Mackey knowingly entered into an agreement with other people to pursue that objective," Livingston wrote.

"This, the government failed to do," she added. Not only was the premise faulty, but the evidence they presented failed to support the conviction, aside from the memes Mackey shared.

The judge wrote that evidence "consisted of exchanges among the participants in several private Twitter message groups — exchanges the government argued showed the intent of the participants to interfere with others’ exercise of their right to vote," Livingston wrote. "Yet the government failed to offer sufficient evidence that Mackey even viewed — let alone participated in — any of these exchanges," she added.

Grave Injustice

Many Trump supporters agreed that the appeals court was correct to overturn the conviction in light of the evidence, or rather, lack thereof. Mackey celebrated the victory with a "HALLELUJAH!" in a post to X, formerly Twitter on Wednesday.

"Now we sue," Mackey promised. Others who weighed in on social media pointed out how wrong the government got this in the first place, including attorney and podcaster Eric Matheny.

"Douglass Mackey went to prison for posting (not even creating) a Hillary meme in 2016. It was one of the greatest injustices of the last 10 years. This is a victory, but it can never give him back the time and quality of life the US government stole from him," Matheny wrote.

Clinton and her minions were sore losers and are no doubt furious that Mackey has won the day. It's a very good thing that this wrong was righted, but it never should have happened in the first place.

Former President Joe Biden's aides were still running interference for him after the election and reportedly changed his phone number so journalists could not get hold of him, Axios reported. This and other secrets have come spilling out of a new book 2024.

The book, released Tuesday, was written by political journalists Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager, and Isaac Arnsdorf. It includes details about the aftermath of the presidential election based on more than 350 interviews.

It includes a telling anecdote about the cover-up of Biden's mental decline. It also touches on then-Vice President Kamala Harris' call to incoming President Donald Trump after she lost.

What's now finally coming to light was obvious to all of those watching Biden in real time. However, it's clear that the people around Biden were shielding him from the press even as the media were complicit in keeping his cognitive struggles under wraps.

Protecting Biden

The book recounts a time after the election when Biden took a call from a Pager on his cell phone on March 25. While Trump often did this, it was unusual for Biden to pick up a cold call from a journalist.

"Biden said he would be willing to speak for this book the next day. The next morning, he answered and said he was running late to catch a train. He said he had a 'very negative' view of Trump's second term ... 'I don't see anything he's done that's been productive,' he said," the journalists wrote.

"Asked if he had any regrets about dropping out of the presidential race, he said, 'No, not now. I don't spend a lot of time on regrets.' He quickly hung up to get on the train," the book went on.

"After the first call," aides for Biden "repeatedly called and texted [Pager]. After the brief second call, his aides blocked the reporter's calls to the former president," the book contends.

"Two days later, a message from Verizon Wireless replaced Biden's voicemail: 'The number you dialed has been changed, disconnected, or is no longer in service,'" the authors allege. Even after he was no longer the president, the people around Biden shut down a conversation to help him save face.

Other Revelations

Biden's aides panicked and were forced to muzzle the former president so as not to let him embarrass himself, even after he was already long out of the White House. However, there were plenty of other things to be embarrassed about among the staffers.

For instance, aides for Harris couldn't figure out how to merge the concession call between Harris and Trump and eventually "ended up holding two phones together on speaker so that the rivals could talk," the authors asserted. "Phone service isn't what it used to be," Trump joked.

Meanwhile, staffers were impressed with the contrast between Harris and Trump, whom they admitted was a class act who "acknowledged she'd given him a run for his money" even if he wouldn't "compliment her campaign," the authors said. The newly elected president also "complimented" Harris' husband, Douglas Emhoff, in that concession call.

"Even her aides described him as gracious. Harris was professional but not warm. She had considered alluding to his failure to concede when things turned out the other way, but in the end, she just said the country was too divided, and she hoped he would be a president for all Americans," the authors said.

Biden had his aides, the media, and everyone else in his orbit running cover for him even after the election. Now that the truth is coming out, it's appalling to see what lengths they went to to cover for him and how inept the people in charge really were.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday characterized former DOJ whistleblower Erez Reuveni as a "disgruntled employee" and "leaker" who is telling false stories about the Trump administration's alleged internal dialogue that encouraged President Donald Trump to defy court orders when they interfere with his policies.

Reuveni told the New York Times in a story published Thursday that federal judge appointee Emil Bove made repeated suggestions about defying court injunctions and rulings that limited Trump's executive orders on immigration, one of which led to the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia and hundreds of other illegal immigrants to CECOT in El Salvador.

The administration was "thumbing its nose at the courts" over the due process rights when it deported Abrego Garcia and the others to CECOT, Reuveni said.

"If they can do this sort of thing to Abrego Garcia, to 238 people that nobody knows, and send them to CECOT forever with no due process, they can do that to anyone," Reuveni told the Times. "It should be deeply, deeply worrisome … that the government can, without showing evidence to anyone of anything, spirit you away on a plane to wherever, forever."

Bondi strikes back

Bondi pointed out that the timing of the Times story was very convenient; Bove's confirmation hearing to be a judge in the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals took place on Friday, the day after the story came out.

Bove previously served as one of Trump's criminal defense attorneys and was a top official in the Justice Department.

"We support legitimate whistleblowers, but this disgruntled employee is not a whistleblower — he's a leaker asserting false claims seeking five minutes of fame, conveniently timed just before a confirmation hearing and a committee vote," Bondi said on X.

"As Mr. Bove testified and as the Department has made clear, there was no court order to defy, as we successfully argued to the DC Circuit when seeking a stay, when they stayed Judge [James] Boasberg's lawless order. And no one was ever asked to defy a court order," she went on.

"This is another instance of misinformation being spread to serve a narrative that does not align with the facts. This 'whistleblower' signed 3 briefs defending DOJ's position in this matter, and his subsequent revisionist account arose only after he was fired because he violated his ethical duties to the department," her post concluded.

The emails

At issue are emails Reuveni released that he says show Bove favored rush deportations and suggested the DOJ might be forced to say "f*** you to court orders in order to implement Trump's executive orders.

There has been a very definite conflict playing out between the executive branch and the legislative one.

Trump was ordered to turn around planeloads of immigrants that were already in the air, but it did not happen.

Did Trump defy the order or did it come too late to do anything about the planes already in the air?

It's not out of reach for someone in the administration to say what Bove is alleged to have said, in the heat of the moment and sort of hypothetically.

Former Vice President Mike Pence called it “troubling” that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth halted certain U.S. weapons shipments to Ukraine without informing President Donald Trump.

Pence told CNN that Trump has since reversed the unexpected pause and assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that military support would continue, as Breitbart reports.

During a Thursday appearance on CNN’s News Central, Pence responded to reports that Hegseth had authorized a delay in some arms shipments, bypassing the White House. CNN host Kate Bolduan pressed Pence on how such a major decision could happen without the president's knowledge.

Pence questions communication efficacy

Bolduan noted that it was “shocking” that such a critical move could occur without presidential approval. “Does that make any sense to you?” she asked. Pence acknowledged the rarity of the situation and called for accountability within the administration.

Pence highlighted the complexity of federal operations and explained that decisions can sometimes be made at lower bureaucratic levels. However, he emphasized that this situation was far too serious to be handled without Trump being involved.

“That one was troubling to me,” Pence said. “And my bet is it’s very troubling to the president.” He went on to say he expected Trump would fully investigate how the decision was made and by whom.

Trump contacts Zelensky, resumes aid

Pence said that President Trump took swift action once he became aware of the weapons shipment pause. According to Pence, Trump reversed the decision and contacted Zelensky directly.

“The most important thing is that he reversed it,” Pence stated. “And made it clear in a phone call with President Zelensky last Friday that the support’s going to continue to come.”

At the time of the interview, CNN confirmed that weapons shipments were restarting. The exact type of weapons or duration of delay was not publicly disclosed by officials.

Pence Calls for both offensive, defensive aid

Pence used the opportunity to advocate for expanded military support to Ukraine, calling for the inclusion of both defensive and offensive capabilities. He also emphasized the need for improved air defense systems.

“It’s not just about defensive weapons,” Pence said. He added that Ukraine needed substantial support, including tools to guard against aerial attacks and strike back effectively, as a path toward lasting peace.

The former vice president framed continued aid to Ukraine as vital to democratic principles and national interests, stressing that a lack of communication must not delay support again.

Hegseth’s action raises policy concerns

Pence’s remarks shine a spotlight on apparent gaps in the decision-making structure surrounding U.S. foreign policy and military aid. The revelation that Hegseth acted without notifying the White House has drawn increased scrutiny.

To date, the Department of Defense has not released a formal explanation. The pause appears to have been made without wider consultation, leading to questions about internal checks and balances.

With shipments now back on track, Pence emphasized that maintaining clear communication and authority lines is essential to delivering timely support and preserving trust among allies.

President Donald Trump is ending an array of federal benefits for illegal aliens, taking away incentives for people to enter the United States without permission.

The new restrictions target a Clinton-era welfare law, the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA), which closed off many public benefits to illegal aliens. Clinton's interpretation of that law still allowed illegal aliens to receive some benefits.

Trump targets benefits

The Trump administration says that Clinton's "Dear Colleague" letter twisted Congress' intent by allowing illegal aliens to receive public assistance.

"In doing so, the Department’s interpretation mischaracterized the law by creating artificial distinctions between federal benefit programs based upon the method of assistance. Congress made no such distinction in PRWORA," a Department of Education press release said.

The administration revoked Clinton's interpretation, making it clear that illegal aliens cannot receive public benefits under PRWORA. The administration estimates the reforms will save about $40 billion.

It's all part of Trump's sweeping, whole-of-government effort to prioritize Americans' interests and make the United States inhospitable to illegal immigrants, who have long imposed significant burdens on housing, healthcare, and education in the United States.

The Department of Education said it is ending subsidized career, technical, and adult education for illegal aliens, and the Department is clarifying that illegal aliens cannot access Pell Grants or student loans.

The administration is also restricting programs administered through Health and Human Services, such as Head Start, which provides preschool, and community health centers that many immigrants rely on for medical care.

Putting Americans first

Members of Trump's Cabinet hailed the changes, saying they put Americans first and remove incentives for illegal immigration.

"For too long, the government has diverted hardworking Americans’ tax dollars to incentivize illegal immigration,” HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy said in a statement. “Today’s action changes that -- it restores integrity to federal social programs, enforces the rule of law, and protects vital resources for the American people."

"Postsecondary education programs funded by the federal government should benefit American citizens, not illegal aliens," said Education Secretary Linda McMahon.

"Under President Trump's leadership, hardworking American taxpayers will no longer foot the bill for illegal aliens to participate in our career, technical, or adult education programs or activities. The Department will ensure that taxpayer funds are reserved for citizens and individuals who have entered our country through legal means who meet federal eligibility criteria," she added.

The changes are in response to Trump's February order, “Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Open Borders," which directed federal agencies to bring federal benefits programs into alignment with PRWORA.

"In the decades since the passage of the PRWORA, numerous administrations have acted to undermine the principles and limitations directed by the Congress through that law.  Over the last 4 years, in particular, the prior administration repeatedly undercut the goals of that law, resulting in the improper expenditure of significant taxpayer resources," Trump's order states.
