President Trump is reopening deportation cases against illegal aliens who had their cases dismissed, in a stark reversal from Joe Biden's "quiet amnesty."

Democrats have often cited the overwhelmed immigration courts as an excuse to go soft on immigration. During the Biden era, "quiet amnesty" was all but official policy as immigration officials threw out hundreds of thousands of cases - supposedly to ease the burden on the "broken system" that many say Biden tried to destroy deliberately.

As reported by the Los Angeles Times, the Trump administration has been opening dormant cases back up - causing panic among "thousands of immigrants who have built lives around the assumption they are safe from being detained and deported."

Biden's soft amnesty

Illegal aliens have long taken advantage of the overwhelmed system by lodging spurious asylum claims to get a foothold in the country - with the assumption that once they get in, they will never be removed. That is because cases take years to adjudicate, and by the time they are found meritless - as they almost always are - those facing removal have already set down roots in the country.

Some of the cases that Trump officials are bringing back were closed years ago, well before Biden became president. But under Biden, immigration cases were dismissed at a historic pace as border crossings hit record highs.

An investigation by House Republicans last year, led by Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA), concluded that 700,000 aliens had their immigration cases dismissed or "administratively closed," allowing them to live on U.S. soil without facing consequences for illegal entry.

"This sort of quiet amnesty has become a staple of the Biden-Harris Administration’s immigration courts," said the House Judiciary report.

Trump ends it

In April, the Trump administration rescinded Biden's liberal approach to granting administrative closures, which Sirce E. Owen, acting director of the Executive Office for Immigration Review, described as "a de facto amnesty program with benefits."

Now, immigration lawyers throughout Los Angeles and San Diego report "shock and despair" from their clients, many of whom believed they were safe, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The newspaper cited the case of a woman who was charged with a misdemeanor DUI, and then obtained relief from deportation during the Biden administration after marrying a U.S. citizen. She was close to getting her visa when her immigration lawyer called to notify her that she is facing removal proceedings once again.

“People aren’t getting due process,” said attorney Mariela Caravela. “It’s very unfair to the client because these cases have been sleeping for 10 years.”

Restoring consequences

This is another example of how Trump is putting immigration policy on a path back towards strict enforcement after years of chaos under his predecessor.

"Biden chose to release millions of illegal aliens, including criminals, into the country and used prosecutorial discretion to indefinitely delay their cases and allow them to illegally remain in the United States,” DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said.

“Now, President Trump and Secretary Noem are following the law and resuming these illegal aliens’ removal proceedings and ensuring their cases are heard by a judge."

Vice president J.D. Vance is calling on Republicans to take "decisive action" as a nationwide battle over redistricting continues to flare.

The controversy erupted after Texas embraced a Trump-backed plan to make five House districts more favorable to Republicans.

While gerrymandering is a bi-partisan vice, Democrats have threatened to retaliate, accusing Republicans of a ruthless power grab that violates democratic norms.

Republicans, meanwhile, cast their redistricting efforts as a reaction to years of unfairness by Democrats in states like Illinois, California, and New York.

"If California has crazy gerrymanders, Illinois has crazy gerrymanders, New York has crazy gerrymanders, what it does is it actually suppresses the will of the people in states like Indiana," Vance told Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures.

Vance punches back

As Vance put it to Fox News, Republicans are finally getting even and restoring some balance to a skewed system.

"The democratic system in this country is broken because who you vote for doesn’t necessarily get reflected in who your representatives are. We’re just trying to rebalance the scales and, frankly, push back against a very unfair system created by the Democrats," he said.

Republicans also say Democrats are exploiting the U.S. Census, which determines the distribution of House seats and Electoral College votes every 10 years.

The Trump administration wants to remove illegal aliens from the census, arguing their inclusion gives Democratic states with high immigrant populations an unfair advantage.

California, the most populous state in the U.S. and the one with the most House seats, has a population that is nearly one-third foreign-born.

Time for escalation

Vance urged Republicans to expand their redistricting efforts beyond Texas - and support Trump's effort to redo the census.

"What we want to do is redo the census, but importantly, we want to redistrict some of these red states, and we want to make the congressional apportionment fair in this country," Vance said.

"Again, you cannot do it unless Republicans actually take some very decisive action in the months to come. We think they will and will obviously support them every step of the way.”

Blue state governors have toyed with mid-decade redistricting to get back at Republicans, but Democrats may have limited ways of responding because their states are already skewed heavily toward the left.

This imbalance may be part of the reason why Vance is encouraging Republicans to escalate.

Ed Martin was only appointed to be President Donald Trump's pardon attorney in May, but he will now lead the DOJ's Weaponization Working Group, which includes overseeing cases against New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) and Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA).

Both Schiff and James are accused of fraudulently claiming primary residences in areas around Washington, D.C. to get more favorable loan terms.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) made a criminal referral against James earlier in the year over her Virginia property, which she claimed as primary even though her job in New York required her to live there. A similar referral was made for Schiff in May.

Schiff is under investigation for claiming that his home in Maryland was his primary residence even though he was required to live in California while a House member representing four different districts from that state during his 24-year tenure.

Special prosecutor

Grand juries in Virginia and Maryland are hearing evidence of James and Schiff's alleged crimes, and will decide soon whether they will face trials there.

Charges including potential mortgage fraud, bank fraud and wire fraud can carry jail terms of up to 30 years.

Martin will be a special prosecutor in those cases if the grand jury does decide to indict them.

“Attorney General Bondi and President Trump have given me a very serious mission,” Martin said of the assignment. "I am committed to going where the facts take me."

“For months DOJ and the FBI have been working on these two cases," he continued. "It is my job to stick the landing.”

Revenge or Justice?

Both James and Schiff have been vocal critics of President Donald Trump for many years.

Ironically, James prosecuted him for allegedly overvaluing his properties to get favorable loan terms, while Schiff presided over his first impeachment in the House.

James convicted Trump on 34 counts of falsifying business records and got an almost half billion dollar judgment against him, which is being appealed.

James's attorney Abbe Lowell, who once helped defend Trump, said in a statement, “Investigating the fraud case Attorney General James won against President Trump and his businesses has to be the most blatant and desperate example of this administration carrying out the president’s political retribution campaign."

Schiff's attorney, former New York prosecutor Preet Bharara, said, “Ed Martin, the most brazenly partisan and politically compromised person possible for the task, has been picked to investigate a political adversary. The bias here is glaring."

Bharara pointed out that Schiff had placed a hold on Martin's previous nomination to be a U.S. Attorney in D.C. and forced him to step down from consideration.

Is Trump going after his enemies to even the score for the things they have done to him and his allies, or is the DOJ just trying to see justice be done?

FBI Director Kash Patel took to social media platform X on Saturday to detail some of the bureau's successes during the first 200 days of the Trump administration, including increases in fentanyl seizures, child trafficking arrests, and the recovery of 4,000 child victims.

He started the string by posting, “200 Days of Trump Admin: Fentanyl seizures by FBI From Jan 20 to Present: 1,500 Kilos — that’s enough lethal doses to kill 113,850,000 Americans. Seizures to date are a 25% increases from same time period last year, most ever. We look forward to working with our @SecDef and DoD partners to getting after it even more, thanks @realDonaldTrump for the new authorities.”

A few hours later, Katel followed up his first post, saying, “200 Days of Trump Admin, From Jan 20 to Present: FBI has arrested over 1,600 people for violent crimes against children, to include 270 arrests for human trafficking.”

But that wasn't all.

"Lives saved"

Patel concluded the series of tweets by posting,

200 Days of Trump Admin: FBI has identified and found 4,000 child victims. FBI investigations targeting Foreign Terrorist Organizations has resulted in 1,000 arrests of those wanting to harm our nation Seized 6,300 Kilos of methamphetamines = lives saved #SummerHeat”

Breitbart News noted that child trafficking had tripled under former President Joe Biden's administration.

That's really not a surprise since his policies brought tens of millions of illegal immigrants to the United States, and many of them were criminals and child traffickers.

Horrific crimes

Reports of rape trees where migrant predators would hang women's panties on a tree after raping them and unaccompanied minors being brought across the border to be trafficked abounded on conservative media, even if the mainstream media didn't much cover any of it.

They sacrificed thousands and thousands of women and children so Biden wouldn't look bad.

Now, Trump and his administration are setting things right. They haven't released any illegal immigrants into the U.S. in months, and even arrests are down because people know they aren't going to get a free pass to come into the country anymore.

Just like word traveled fast when Biden reversed all of Trump's border policies and threw the border wide open, it has also traveled fast about the reverse.

The FBI continues to focus on doing its part to get illegal immigrants out of the country and back to their countries of origin.

Particularly the ones who have committed crimes, many of whom may have been released from prison by their leaders and sent here to disrupt our way of life.

President Donald Trump announced during a Monday conference at the White House that his administration will take steps to combat violent crime in the District of Columbia, including deploying the National Guard and federalizing police in the district that houses the nation's capital.

"This is Liberation Day in DC, and we're going to take our capital back," Trump said about the plans.

The White House increased the police presence in D.C. recently following the brutal attack of Edward Coristine, a key figure at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), during an attempted carjacking last week.

Trump criticized the amount of violent crime and homelessness in the city and vowed to clean it up.

"It's a disaster"

NBC News was quick to point out that violent crime is down 26% in D.C. compared to last year, but Trump shared statistics that compared it unfavorably to other major cities in the U.S. and around the world.

He mentioned several high-profile incidents by name, including the Coristine attack and the killing of a congressional intern.

Trump also said he would get rid of the "slums" of D.C., and called on the Republicans in Congress to "change no cash bail" to prevent many criminals from being put back on the street after being arrested.

"The radical left City Council adopted no cash bail," he said, reffering to Washington, D.C. "By the way, every place in the country you have no cash bail — it's a disaster."

"Somebody murders somebody, and they're out on no cash bail before the day is out," Trump said.

"We're going to end that in Chicago," he continued. "We're going to change the statute. I spoke with Pam and Todd and everybody. We're going to change the statute, and I'm going to have to get the Republicans to vote, because the Democrats are weak on crime — totally weak on crime."

"Beautification"

Trump was joined at the press conference by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and other officials.

He said that the city looked "disgusting" and "ugly," which he also wanted to change. "We’re also talking about beautification. We’re the most beautiful, potentially, capital in the world," he said.

It makes sense that Trump would want to fix up the city where he now lives. He tends to want to leave things better than he found them, both in his real estate empire and the country as a whole.

Democrats will be crying about whether it's legal to use the National Guard in this way and to federalize law enforcement, but they are heavily invested in things staying the same despite many promises over decades to make them better. If Trump actually does improve things, it might shake up their voter base so radically that it will never be the same again.

The Trump administration is taking definitive steps to dismantle the vaccine mandate records established during the Biden era for federal employees, The National Pulse reported.

The policy shift entails erasing all remnants of COVID-19 vaccine requirements from federal databases.

The mandate, introduced by President Biden in 2021 through an Executive Order, was intended to bolster pandemic control measures within federal operations.

Origins and Legal Challenges to the Vaccine Mandate

The mandate required federal employees to submit proof of vaccination, aligning with broader public health strategies at the time. However, the mandate was met with resistance, leading to several legal confrontations.

Among the challengers was Feds For Freedom, a group representing 9,000 federal workers, who successfully won a temporary injunction in 2022 against the enforcement of the mandate.

With shifting public health advisories and increasing opposition, Biden rescinded the mandate in May 2023, thereby ceasing enforcement based on vaccination status.

Settlement and Policy Reversal Under the Trump Administration

Post-mandate, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) initially advised against mandating vaccines in job postings, reflecting a stand-down from the prior requirements.

The new OPM directive ensures that neither vaccine status nor history will impact federal employment decisions, highlighting a shift towards more privacy-focused employment practices.

These changes are aimed at securing the privacy rights of federal employees, ensuring their personal health choices remain confidential and do not influence their career progression.

Broader Implications for Federal Employment Policies

This move sets a new precedent for handling sensitive health information within government employment, shifting away from previous public health policies that mandated personal medical disclosures.

This policy shift is likely to influence future government approaches to employee health and privacy, potentially leading to a reevaluation of how such data is used in employment contexts across all levels of government.

In summary, the administration's latest actions are not just about removing outdated data but are part of a larger conversation about the balance between public health security and personal privacy rights.

For years, many have wondered how Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and her husband, Paul Pelosi, have managed to make some of the most impressive and lucrative stock trades -- beating out some of the most experienced and veteran traders on Wall Street.

According to Breitbart, President Donald Trump even broke his silence on the Pelosis' seemingly never-ending Wall Street fortune-making abilities, accusing the former House Speaker of insider trading.

Trump commented on Pelosi's market-making abilities, noting that they "beat every Hedge Fund in 2024."

The president noted how the Pelosis have beaten every "super genius" on Wall Street, concluding that insider trading is the only possible explanation as to how the San Francisco couple has beaten and exploited the market at every turn.

What's going on?

As Trump typically does, he held nothing back in a Truth Social post slamming the Pelosis and their seemingly perfect stock-trading abilities.

"Crooked Nancy Pelosi, and her very 'interesting' husband, beat every Hedge Fund in 2024. In other words, these two very average 'minds' beat ALL of the Super Geniuses on Wall Street, thousands of them," Trump wrote.

He then called her a "disgusting degenerate" and slammed her for her role in his multiple impeachment proceedings.

He added, "It’s all INSIDE iNFORMATION! Is anybody looking into this??? She is a disgusting degenerate, who Impeached me twice, on NO GROUNDS, and LOST! How are you feeling now, Nancy???"

There have been multiple, bipartisan efforts by members of Congress to tamp down or eliminate the ability of lawmakers in both chambers to trade on Wall Street.

Breitbart noted:

During an interview on The Alex Marlow Show with Breitbart Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow in May, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) explained how the Pelosis had made “hundreds of millions of dollars” off of Nancy’s insider knowledge.

Washington D.C. has been a drug and crime den for decades. Anyone who has taken a trip to the nation's capital can attest to the vast difference between the Capitol Hill area and the rest of D.C., which has turned into a garbage pit.

According to the New York Post, President Donald Trump isn't messing around when he says he's going to clean up the city and crack down on the exploding levels of crime. That was evidenced this weekend with a number of arrests and seizures.

More than a half-dozen people were arrested this weekend in Washington D.C. by Park Police officers who worked in tandem with agents from the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

The police officers and agents collaborated to conduct a successful contraband sweep.

What's going on?

Park Police Fraternal Order of Police chairman Kenneth Spencer told the Post in an exclusive interview that at least eight perps were arrested as part of the joint agency raids.

All kinds of contraband were seized during the D.C. raids, including drugs, fake drugs, and cash, along with weapons.

The Post noted:

At least 30 “fraudulent oxycodone pills” — which appeared to be fentanyl — were also seized, along with 210 grams of crack cocaine, 600 grams of marijuana, 64 grams of hashish oil and cash with a total value of $3,600, Spencer added.

Spencer told the outlet that the arrests and seizures were part of a White House directive from the president to crack down on crime and illegal goods in the streets of the nation's capital.

“It was a multi-agency effort that we are leading from the White House directive," Spencer said.

"It’s going to have a huge impact on crime in the city," he also said, noting that it's one of the largest task forces he's seen in 15 years on the job. "We’ve been directed to do this until further instruction."

The United States Park Police issued an official statement and published pictures of the seizures on its X account.

"Thank you!," one X user wrote.

President Donald Trump made major headlines at a recent fundraiser when he announced that he's considering reclassifying marijuana at the federal level, which Republicans have generally pushed back on over the years.

According to Fox Business, Trump made the announcement "at a $1 million-a-plate fundraiser at his New Jersey golf club," sources familiar with the situation reportedly told The Wall Street Journal

Cannabis groups have contributed millions of dollars to Trump's various political groups, and it appears as if the contributions could pay massive dividends, as those same groups have fought for years to change the drug's classification at the federal level.

Because it's only legal in various forms in various states, cannabis businesses have had extremely difficult transactional issues, as most major banks and processors have strict restrictions on those businesses, to say the least.

What's going on?

Kim Rivers, chief executive of Trulieve, one of the largest marijuana companies, was one of the guests at the high-end fundraiser, and she clearly used her time at the table to encourage the president to reclassify the plant.

Rivers also urged the president to expand medical marijuana research. Cannabis groups and advocates have pushed the federal government for years to research the plant's greater uses in the medical realm.

Fox News noted:

The potential move to remove marijuana from the list of Schedule I controlled substances and make it a Schedule III drug would make it significantly easier to buy and sell cannabis and make the industry more profitable.

Notably, the Biden administration also pushed for the plant to be reclassified to make it easier to buy and sell and use for medical purposes, but was never able to get it done before his time in office ended.

Though it's mostly Democrats who have attempted to have the drug reclassified or taken off of the controlled substances list altogether, some Republicans have also made the same push.

Fox News noted:

At least 40 states have legalized medical marijuana, while 24 states and Washington, D.C., have also legalized recreational marijuana.

Social media reacts

Users across social media reacted to the idea of Trump reclassifying the plant. Some supported the idea, and some didn't.

"It will help the drug dealers. No one goes to jail for a couple joints anymore. @realDonaldTrump don’t do it. Ty," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "A no brainer. Marijuana is no worse than alcohol."

One of the most surprising aspects of President Donald Trump’s second term in office thus far has been his commitment to the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) platform championed by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Now that the second Trump administration has been in place for more than 200 days, MAHA supporters and advocates are touting a host of milestones and additive bans that have already been achieved, as Breitbart reports, and are looking ahead to what is yet to come.

Making MAHA a reality

Several key accomplishments already notched by RFK and HHS can be seen in the changes to which food industry giants have agreed, adjustments that span cooking practices as well as additives.

Fast food notable Steak & Shake pledged to banish seed oils and begin preparing its offerings with beef tallow, a health-conscious shift lauded by Kennedy and his supporters.

Iconic West Coast chain In-N-Out Burger promised to eliminate Red Dye 40, Yellow 5, and artificial flavorings from its products, marking another sea change in fast food.

Other household names that appear ready and willing to get on board the MAHA train include PepsiCo, McCormick, Kraft, Nestle, Heinz, Conagra, Tyson, Hershey, and General Mills, all of which have committed to the elimination -- or at least reduction -- of their use of synthetic dyes in their product lines.

In a push to encourage healthier eating among impoverished communities, the Trump administration, with the help of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, has authorized waivers for a growing number of states to ban the use of food stamps for the purchase of junk foods and sodas.

Making moves on vaccines

Kennedy, who has had a decades-long interest in vaccine safety, made headlines last week when it was announced that HHS would be initiating a “coordinated wind-down” of its mRNA vaccine development activities.

The push is set to include the “cancellation and de-scoping of various contracts and solicitations” which had been undertaken pursuant to the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).

According to HHS, the decision “follows a comprehensive review of mRNA-related investments initiated during the COVID-19 public health emergency.”

Kennedy explained, “We reviewed the science, listened to the experts, and acted. BARDA is terminating 22 mRNA vaccine development investments because the data show these vaccines fail to protect effectively against upper respiratory infections like COVID and flu.”

He continued, “We’re shifting that funding toward safer, broader vaccine platforms that remain effective even as viruses mutate.”

"Gold standard science"

Though critics such as former Surgeon General Jerome Adams have blasted the mRNA funding decision in particular and suggested that “people are going to die” as a result, the administration stands firm in trumpeting the MAHA achievements tallied to date.

White House spokesperson Liz Huston declared last week, “In its first 200 days, the administration has delivered on the president’s pledge by restoring Gold Standard Science at HHS,” adding her belief that “the best is yet to come – the administration is committed to doubling down and continuing to transform American good, health care, and science to Make America Healthy Again,” a focus for which millions are assuredly grateful.
