A legal team at the Institute for Justice has dispatched a demand letter to officials in the town of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, insisting that they take down a surveillance camera that watches an innocent family 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The family, explains IJ lawyer Joshua Windham, "cannot enter or leave their own driveway without the city's camera capturing a picture of their movements."

The case involves Charlie and Angie Wolf, and the city's spy program.

The city contracted with a company to install automatic license plate readers, and the Flock Safety company did so, putting one just weeks ago across the street from the Wolfs' home and pointing it at them.

"As positioned, the camera captures their driveway and a good portion of their front yard," the IJ reported.

"After the camera was installed, Charlie reached out to the police chief to express his concerns and was told 'it's not moving.' The following month, the couple sent a letter to city council raising Fourth Amendment concerns and asking officials, once again, to move the camera. Then, in July, Charlie appeared before the city council to reiterate his concerns. At that meeting, city officials doubled down on their stance. City Attorney Blake Spears told Charlie: 'If you want the camera moved, my suggestion would be to get a court order,' and Police Chief Kallen Lacy added: 'We have no plans to move the camera,'" the IJ reported.

Among the concerns, Charlie Wolf said, is that, "Every time me, my family, friends, children or grandchildren come to, leave, play in the front yard or try to enjoy our private property, we are being photographed and added to a database without consent or violation of any law."

Windham said, "Simply put, the city has put the Wolfs under a state of constant surveillance, where they're effectively being treated as criminal suspects, even though they've done nothing wrong."

Of course the city has obtained no warrant for its spying.

The legal team pointed that already two state supreme Courts have concluded putting a surveillance camera in front of a home for months without a warrant is unconstitutional.

"Even if the camera wasn't located directly in front of the Wolfs' home, the decision to place several Flock cameras throughout the city may still violate the Fourth Amendment," the IJ pointed out. "In Carpenter v. United States, the United States Supreme Court ruled that using cell phone location data to retrace a person's past movements was a search that requires a warrant. Using cameras to capture the movements of every person who drives through the city is also a search that requires a warrant under the Fourth Amendment."

The team pointed out that the Flock system already is being challenged in court for its presence in another city.

There a federal court denied that city's attempt to get the case dismissed "because the plaintiffs had plausibly alleged 'an injury caused by [the] installation and operation of the Flock camera'" and 'that a violation of [their] Fourth Amendment rights occurred.'"

Attorney General Pam Bondi has fired Maurene Comey from her job at the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office, Breitbart reported. The daughter of former FBI Director James Comey previously prosecuted accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged accomplice, Gislaine Maxwell.

Politico broke the news that she was let go, but noted that "the reason for her firing was not immediately clear." In fact, Breitbart couldn't get a return call for comment from the Department of Justice of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan, where Maurene Comey was employed.

In addition to the Epstein case, Maurene Comey was also the prosecutor for the case against Sean "Diddy" Combs. The disgraced rap mogul was accused of sex trafficking and racketeering, but was only convicted of lesser crimes.

Rumors Abound

With so little information available about the circumstances of her firing, rumors abound about the possibilities. One of those speculating is noted internet commentator and investigative journalist Laura Loomer.

Loomer posted to X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday with her theory about the firing. She said the move "came 2 months after" Bondi was subjected to a "pressure campaign" to fire Maurene Comey and her husband.

"Maurene Comey’s husband is Lucas Issacharoff," Loomer noted. "As I previously reported, he works at the current Trump DOJ, despite a long history of being a Trump hater. He is the Assistant U.S. Attorney is SDNY, working in the Civil Division since 2019," Lomer noted.

"No word yet on whether or not he was also fired today, but he should be!" she added. Loomer celebrated this as a "+1" move for Bondi.

While it's not known if there's any connection, it's curious that the FBI recently launched a probe into the Russia collusion hoax. At the center of that scandal were James Comey and CIA Director John Brennan.

Epstein Connection

The shakeup comes as President Donald Trump and his administration face criticism for suddenly downplaying the case against the late Jeffrey Epstein. According to Fox News, Trump had contradicted Bondi's earlier promises by presenting Epstein's as old news after the case was closed without the promised release of the files.

"He's dead for a long time. He was never a big factor in terms of life," Trump said Tuesday when asked by reporters what he thought about the fact that there were still calls to release the files.

"I don't understand what the interest or what the fascination is. I really don't, and the credible information's been given," Trump added.

"It's pretty boring stuff. It's sordid, but it's boring." Trump simply claimed. He has been supportive of Bondi despite contradicting her earlier promises, but it's unknown whether firing Maurene Comey was part of this effort to move on from Epstein.

Some things are happening in the Trump administration that don't make sense at the moment. However, Trump still has the support of his base and a mandate in office, and hopefully, both will bolster his ability to continue implementing his original agenda.

President Donald Trump slammed his own supporters who are not backing down from demanding answers about Jeffrey Epstein's criminal activity, the UK Daily Mail reported. The president now claims that the late financier's sex trafficking was all a "hoax."

For years, Trump has spoken about Epstein's alleged crimes and made remarks about his manner of death. Epstein reportedly hanged himself with his own bed sheets while in prison in 2019, but many people, including Trump, had questioned the official narrative.

However, Trump seemingly backtracked on all of it when pushed by the public to release the files on Epstein. The president called it the "Epstein hoax" and said that Republicans were "duped" into worrying about it while speaking to reporters on Wednesday.

"I know it’s a hoax," Trump told the press. "It’s started by Democrats. It’s been run by the Democrats for four years," Trump added.

Unfair Comparison

It wasn't enough for Trump to say that the Epstein files don't exist. Trump also played on the sympathies of his supporters by comparing the scandal to the Russia collusion hoax cooked up by the Democrats.

Trump said that those in his own Make America Great Again movement calling for more information on the Epstein case were falling prey to Democrats' tricks. "Some stupid Republicans and foolish Republicans fall into that net, so they try and do the Democrats’ work," Trump claimed.

The president also stood behind Attorney General Pam Bondi, who has faced criticism for promising to release the files Trump now claims don't exist. "Whatever is credible, she can release," Trump capitulated.

"If a document is credible, if a document's there that is credible, she can release it," the president reiterated. Trump doubled down on his narrative about Epstein being a Democrat-invented fiction, even though he still supports Bondi.

"All it is the Republicans – certain Republicans – got duped by the Democrats. And they’re following a Democrat playbook," Trump claimed. "Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats' work, don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don't want their support anymore!" Trump later posted to his Truth Social on Wednesday.

On the Attack

These comments represent a more forceful and cutting approach than Trump had taken just the day before. "He’s dead for a long time. He was never a big factor in terms of life," Trump told reporters Tuesday, downplaying the significance of the Epstein case.

"I don’t understand why the Jeffrey Epstein case would be of interest to anybody. It's pretty boring stuff. It's sordid, but it's boring, and I don't understand why it keeps going," Trump continued.

"I think really only pretty bad people, including fake news, want to keep something like that going. But credible information? Let them give it — anything that's credible, I would say, let them have it," Trump added.

It's difficult to see why Trump has taken this stance against his own supporters on this particular issue. Republicans and others concerned about justice have waited a long time for the facts of this case to come out, but the Trump administration has completely abandoned them.

The questions about Jeffrey Epstein are only growing, and now it appears that an insider has a story about what really happened to the financier-turned punch line.

Epstein was known to be connected to the richest and most famous people in the world, but he was eventually also known for human trafficking, and that eventually caught up with him, as Fox News reported.

Epstein, who allegedly had dirt on everyone from A-list actors to the English monarchy, found himself behind bars just a few years ago and never lived to stand trial.

From The Inside

News broke well before his trial that Epstein had allegedly killed himself, but according to the financier’s former lawyer, he likely had help in doing that particular deed.

"It is clear from the evidence that Epstein committed suicide," attorney Alan Dershowitz wrote in an opinion article for the Wall Street Journal.

"What isn’t clear is whether he was assisted by jail personnel. That seems likely to me, based on the evidence of allegedly broken cameras, transfer of his cellmate, and the absence of guards during relevant time periods."

That death, which took place while Epstein was in federal custody, prompted plenty of questions about what might have been about to come out in court.

What About Now

While lots of Americans believed that it was possible that people in the government who didn’t want Epstein’s dirty life details out, recent changes have shed new light on the issue.

Epstein’s infamous “list” was supposed to be released, according to a number of conservatives close to President Donald Trump.

However, earlier this week the president and the Attorney General, Pam Bondi, said that, actually, there was no list. FBI Director Kash Patel also backed that up, saying that it was all “conspiracy” and there was nothing to see.

From Dershowitz On The List

That was confirmed by Dershowitz, who said it’s true, there is no client list, and Epstein didn’t keep those kinds of records.

However, he did say that some of Epstein’s accusers who were interviewed by the FBI alleged they knew of “clients" whose names were redacted from official documents.

"I know who they are," Dershowitz wrote. "They don’t include any current officeholders. We don’t know whether the accusations are true. The courts have also sealed negative information about some of the accusers to protect them.

"The media can and should petition the courts for the release of all names and information, so the public can draw its own conclusions," he added.

Fed-up with "bad people" pushing for the release of files on convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, President Donald Trump on Wednesday unleashed a furious tirade against his own supporters, saying he no longer wants their support.

"I don't want their support anymore!" Trump exclaimed on Truth Social.

"My PAST supporters have bought into this 'bullsh**,' hook, line, and sinker."

His full statement reads:

"The Radical Left Democrats have hit pay dirt, again! Just like with the FAKE and fully discredited Steele Dossier, the lying 51 "Intelligence" Agents, the Laptop from Hell, which the Dems swore had come from Russia (No, it came from Hunter Biden's bathroom!), and even the Russia, Russia, Russia Scam itself, a totally fake and made up story used in order to hide Crooked Hillary Clinton's big loss in the 2016 Presidential Election, these Scams and Hoaxes are all the Democrats are good at – It's all they have – They are no good at governing, no good at policy, and no good at picking winning candidates.

Also, unlike Republicans, they stick together like glue. Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this "bullsh**," hook, line, and sinker. They haven't learned their lesson, and probably never will, even after being conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years.

I have had more success in 6 months than perhaps any President in our Country's history, and all these people want to talk about, with strong prodding by the Fake News and the success starved Dems, is the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax. Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don't want their support anymore! Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Trump also told reporters Tuesday: "I don't understand it, why they'd be so interested. He's dead for a long time. He was never a big factor in terms of life, I don't understand what the interest or what the fascination is."

"It's pretty boring stuff. It's sordid, but it's boring. And I don't understand why it keeps going. I think really only pretty bad people including fake news want to keep something like that going. But credible information, let 'em give it. Anything that's credible, I would say let them have it."

He also said just before flying to Pittsburgh that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi should release more files if they were "credible."

"It's gonna be up to her. Whatever she thinks is credible, she should release," Trump said, adding Bondi "has handled it very well."

On Wednesday, online journalist Nick Sortor noted: "I'm not sure this whole Epstein debacle could've been handled any worse."

Meanwhile, U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., is now demanding a special counsel to probe the Epstein case.

"We need a special counsel. That has got to happen," she told journalist Benny Johnson.

"I hope it doesn't become a false idol to Republicans where we just lose sight of everything else, but that doesn't mean we don't want answers."

House Oversight Chair James Comer of Kentucky urged Bondi on Tuesday to begin exposing and arresting individuals connected to the Epstein network and its cover-up.

"Take the ball and run with it," Comer told Johnson. "People want to see accountability.

"There have been a lot of investigations. The Deep State has been exposed thanks to [CIA Director John] Ratcliffe and [FBI Director] Kash Patel. Let's start prosecuting these people. Let's set some examples out of some people."

Also speaking with Johnson, Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia debunked a false narrative that House Republicans unanimously voted to block the release of the Epstein files.

"That is not true," she said, explaining it was merely a procedural vote to preclude Democrats from gaining control of the House floor.

"That means they could bring up anything. They could bring up impeachment articles against President Trump. They could bring up a whole package of insane, Democrat-agenda items and force votes on the House floor on these things."

One of the U.S. military's most high-profile and respected whistleblowers, active-duty Navy Commander Robert A. Green, Jr., says his chain of command has informed him that he is, as of July 8, "under investigation for publicly calling out the unconstitutional and illegal actions by military leadership during the COVID-19 mandates." He made the announcement in an X post the following day:

"For 4 years I have been using the same language and the same demand for accountability that I continue to use on this platform," posted Green.

"My leadership does not like that I have used the words 'domestic enemies of the Constitution' to describe many of them for their actions during the mandates. But where were they when thousands of us notified them about the laws they were breaking?" He added: "There is a clear line drawn between service members who will defend the Constitution, and Admirals & Generals who violate constitutional rights with impunity."

Former service members are reacting strongly, clearly disturbed by the news. WorldNetDaily spoke to one such individual, Dr. Chase Spears, a retired U.S. Army public affairs officer.  When Green published his book, "Defending the Constitution behind Enemy Lines," in July 2023, Spears quickly took notice. Having been a writer himself while serving in the Army and knowing the challenges that come with a hostile chain of command, he admired Green's "direct approach."

"That guy has a spine like no one I've ever seen in the military in my lifetime," Spears remembers thinking. As fate would have it, two years later, Spears was able to welcome Green to his podcast, "Finding Your Spine."

With news of a formal military probe into Commander Green's public statements regarding the illegalities of the now-rescinded COVID-19 military shot mandate, Spears told WND he is "surprised to see him investigated now."

He explained, "It surprised me that he was not being investigated in the past while we were under a very hostile [Biden] administration when he wrote his book, and when he began pointing out the law-breaking and widespread rampant corruption in the military."

"From what I can tell, he has not changed, remaining consistent in making the argument that the military continues to violate law, to violate due process and to violate the Constitution," Spears said, adding, "He's now doing this under an administration that knows the reality of rampant progressivism in the ranks."

So why is Green being investigated at this time?

"Ever since the Trump administration came in and Secretary of Defense Hegseth took the helm at the Pentagon," said Spears, "life hasn't gotten easier for conservatives." To the contrary, he said, "it has gotten harder because progressively minded officers who were raised under the Obama and Biden administration are insecure about the fact there's a new sheriff in town and they're clamping down even harder on those who hold a basic constitutional, traditional worldview."

"From what I have seen, the arguments Commander Green shares are not partisan, nor in violation of the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) or Defense Department regulations against political expression by service members," Spears pointed out. "He's simply calling out where the admirals and other senior military commanders continue to violate the law, due process and the very Constitution which they swore to uphold and defend."

For Spears, "It's another indicator of the fact that the military has lost its way and its purpose of actual national defense when it is focused on these witch hunts against people in the ranks who swear by these principles, and swear to this document we call the Constitution."

"There's a [Commander Green] in every generation and in every cause," he asserted. "There's a key leader who rises to the top, whether it be for a noble cause or an ignoble cause."

Green has been "one person service members and veterans have been able to rally behind because of his courage and the courage he draws out of other people," said Spears. For example, Green "spearheaded" the Declaration of Military Accountability, which was signed by 231 service members and veterans in January 2024 to seek accountability for the wrongs imposed upon them by the tyrannically enforced COVID-19 shot mandate.

In light of the investigation against Green, Spears, a signatory of the declaration, said, "Now is the time for other constitutionally minded military members to stand up with him." He challenges them, asking, "Will you be courageous, or will you be cowardly?"

"Many fellow military members may beat their chests with all this bravado about being a warrior and never leaving another comrade behind. So if this is true, it's past time to really man up," Spears told WND. "Hold true to your oaths now or sit down forever among those across history who did nothing when the moment called."

"If you're not willing to call fouls against clear legal and moral wrongs in your personal capacity, then what good are you?" Spears asked. "If I'm not assured that you believe in this idea of America and that your oath to defend it is worth more than the air you exhale it with, how can I trust you as a military leader?"

Despite their president's ongoing criticism of those demanding his Justice Department release more information about the Jeffrey Epstein case, Wednesday calling them "bad people" who've "bought into this 'bullsh**,' hook, line, and sinker," some Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives have signed onto a discharge petition demanding release of all the files related to the late, disgraced sex offender.

The petition, sponsored by Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., and Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., is a procedure tool that bypasses House leadership.

"In 7 days we can start collecting signatures," Explains Massie in an X post. "At 218 signatures, the House must vote on our bill requiring a full release of the Epstein files."

Continued Massie, "We all deserve to know what's in the Epstein files, who's implicated, and how deep this corruption goes. Americans were promised justice and transparency."

The "Epstein Files Transparency Act" would require the Department of Justice to declassify and release all Epstein-related documents, including investigative records, communications, flight logs, visitor lists, sealed agreements and any information involving known or suspected co-conspirators.

Current cosponsors of the bill, H.Res. 581, include Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., who posted, "The American people deserve and can handle the truth. Let's see the files."

Wrote Greene, "I am proudly cosponsoring and will sign the discharge petition. I will never protect pedophiles or the elites and their circles."

Other Republicans who have signed on are Reps. Jeff Van Drew, Eric Burlison and Tim Burchett.

Trump continued his denouncement of those demanding release of the files Wednesday, telling reporters in the Oval Office: "Republicans, some Republicans, got duped by the Democrats and they're following a Democrat playbook. It's no different than Russia, Russia, Russia and all the other hoaxes. It was started by the Democrats and some Republicans, in this case I was surprised, but they got duped."

The president is no fan of Massie, one of two House Republicans who voted against his big beautiful bill, saying the libertarian-leaning Kentucky lawmakers was "grandstanding."

The Supreme Court has ruled that the Trump administration may cut thousands of employees from the Department of Health and Human Services, CNN reported. The employees were notified by email on Monday that it was their last day on the job.

President Donald Trump's HHS, under the guidance of Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., initially notified affected employees throughout its agencies on April 1. However, a court battle ensued but eventually ended at the U.S. Supreme Court last week.

On July 8, the high court ruled in favor of the HHS and said it "is now permitted to move forward with a portion of its [reduction in force]." The decision was then relayed to workers who were let go as originally planned before the challenge.

"You are hereby notified that you are officially separated from HHS at the close of business on July 14, 2025. Thank you for your service to the American people," Monday's email informed them.

Proceeding as planned

The plan to eliminate 20,000 HHS employees was announced on March 27 and made Democrats apoplectic. The employees would be cut from agencies including the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Food and Drug Administration.

"This will be a painful period for HHS as we downsize from 82,000 workers to 62,000," Kennedy said when announcing the plan. "But we are keenly focused on paring down the number of administrators while increasing the number of scientists and frontline health providers."

While some of those have been restored to employment, Monday's decision impacts thousands of employees, according to a spokesperson for the HHS. However, this may not be the final word, even for all those who were cut, as a portion of employees are still protected under New York v. Kennedy, not addressed in Monday's ruling.

HHS spokesperson Andrew Nixon celebrated the decision that will allow the administration to proceed with its stated goals. "HHS previously announced our plans to transform this department to Make America Healthy Again and we intend to do just that," Nixon told CNN in an email statement.

More promises kept

The Trump administration may also proceed with layoffs at the Department of Education thanks to another Supreme Court ruling Monday. Just two hours after the high court decision, the administration offered an Aug. 1 termination date to some 1,400 employees.

National Education Association President Becky Pringle bristled at this move, Fox News reported. "Everyone who cares about America’s students and public schools should be appalled by the Supreme Court’s premature intervention in this case today, which stays preliminary relief ordered by the lower courts," Pringle claimed.

"Today’s decision does not resolve the underlying merits of Trump’s unlawful plan to eliminate the Department of Education," she added. Pringle promised a fight, which Trump is undoubtedly ready for, even as Democrats rage against him.

"Parents, educators, and community leaders won’t be silent as Trump and his allies take a wrecking ball to public schools and the futures of the 50 million students in rural, suburban, and urban communities across America. We will continue to organize, advocate, and mobilize until all students have the opportunity to attend the well-resourced public schools where they can thrive," Pringle said.

The federal government is bloated and inefficient, and it's time for that to change. These workers don't want to lose their taxpayer-funded, cushy jobs, but it's well past time to address this issue, and Trump is eager to fulfill his promise to get it done.

A federal appeals court has temporarily blocked the Trump administration's move to end protected status for Afghan migrants, Breitbart reported. The Biden era policy gave thousands of migrants from Afghanistan de facto amnesty.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security released a statement about the decision. "Temporary Protected Status was designed to be just that—TEMPORARY. Granted for 18 months under extraordinary circumstances," the official account posted to X, formerly Twitter.

"It was never meant to last a quarter of a century. For many of these countries, TPS was granted in the 90's after natural disasters. Now that conditions have improved, it is time to return home. President Trump and Secretary Noem are restoring integrity to our immigration system and ensuring that TPS remains TEMPORARY," the post Tuesday said.

Problematic program

Then-President Joe Biden resettled Afghan migrants in the U.S. under Temporary Protected Status. As part of President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown, his U.S. Department of Homeland Security sought to end TPS for thousands of migrants after then-President Biden resettled them into the U.S.

On Monday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit put a stay on the administration's plan to end the loophole for some 75,000 people from Afghanistan resettled under Biden. As DHS said, this was supposed to be a temporary measure set to expire on July 12.

However, the appeals court has put the brakes on any abolishment for now after the pro-immigration organization CASA, Inc. filed a lawsuit. Unfortunately, this comes amid reports of fraud in the program that could expose Americans to danger.

Even before TPS was an official policy, it was known that Afghans resettled in the U.S. had problematic ties. Unfortunately, of the 31 who were designated with "derogatory information," only three could be located within the U.S. in 2021.

That same year, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) requested information about Afghans on the "No Fly List" who tried to enter the U.S. However, the Biden administration was cagey about the data and refused to report the exact count of such immigrants.

Persistent issue

Even after TPS for Afghans was formalized in 2022, the issues persisted. In February 2022, the Department of Defense found that the Afghans imported under Biden's plan were not sufficiently vetted before being settled in communities throughout the U.S.

That early report found that 50 Afghans with "significant security concerns" were allowed into the U.S. through the resettlement program without much scrutiny. In February 2022, an Inspector General's report called out the Biden administration for its lack of vetting and warned it would "pose a national security risk."

A former Department of Defense official disclosed in 2023 that some of the Afghans given access to the U.S. had been involved in placing improvised explosive devices in Afghanistan. These roadside bombs were used to kill American service members in Afghanistan.

Just last year, a 27-year-old Afghan who was brought to the U.S. as part of Biden's plan was allegedly planning a terrorist attack on Election Day. He was arrested in Oklahoma before he could carry out his diabolical agenda.

Unfortunately, Biden and his cronies in the court system are perfectly willing to risk American lives to continue with the open borders policies that got us here. Trump has been blindsided by the court's reluctance to allow him to protect the U.S. by keeping unvetted people out, but his administration will not stop fighting it.

Democratic Minnesota state Sen. Nicole Mitchell’s trial for the 2024 burglary of her stepmother’s home began this week, and the details are a frightening combination of delusion and entitlement.

Mitchell was arrested by the Detroit Lakes police in April of 2024 after Carol Mitchell called for help upon discovering someone in her home.

Included in the case proceedings was body cam footage from officers who confronted Nicole Mitchell, who stood in her stepmother’s living room dressed in black.

Family effect

The Democrat state senator’s stepmother, Carol Mitchell, 75, took the witness stand, saying she felt “extremely violated” when she discovered her stepdaughter in her basement.

The defense brought up the assertion that she was just there to check on her aging relative, saying that what she did shortly after being found tells the story.

“A burglar runs,” said Bruce Ringstrom Jr., one of Nicole Mitchell’s attorneys, during opening statements. “A concerned child stays.”

The events took such a toll on Carol that she moved away from the home and into a high-security building for senior citizens over the age of 55: “I didn’t dare stay there … And I’ve only now moved back into my home after putting in a security system.”

From the other side

But the Becker County Attorney Brian McDonald dismissed the claim, saying, “No amount of grief or frustration can justify a home burglary.”

McDonald firmly stated that Nicole Mitchell was “caught red-handed,” and was wearing all black, which included a black stocking cap.

She also allegedly took off her shoes to be more “stealthy,” according to McDonald. He also pointed to the fact that she entered through a basement window to support his case.

But despite all that she still woke up Carol Mitchell, who stepped on Nicole lying beside the bed at 4 a.m., causing the septagenarian to call 911 and report a break-in.

Mitchell’s career

In January of this year, Mitchell’s co-workers at the state capitol moved, without success, to expel her from her position in the state Senate.

The measure was introduced by Sen. Jordan Rasmusson, who argued lawmakers didn’t “need the results of a criminal trial” to determine Mitchell was no longer fit to serve her constituents.

“We shouldn’t be complicit in delaying justice for the victim of a crime by allowing Sen. Mitchell to use her membership in this body to shield herself from criminal consequences,” said Rasmusson.
