Actor Jim Carrey calls Trump ‘a melanoma,’ says Sanders is ‘putting makeup on it’

Emotionally derailed by Donald Trump’s presidency, actor Jim Carrey has taken to painting disturbing caricatures of Republicans, captioned with insults, and sharing them on social media.

While speaking at Vulture Fest in Los Angeles, California, the Dumb and Dumber star let loose on the subject of politics. “Trump is a melanoma, and anybody that covers for him, including Sarah Sanders, is putting makeup on it,” asserted Carrey. “It shows that there’s a deeper problem in this country, and that problem is greed.”

The Hollywood Reporter noted that Carrey was part of a panel discussion on art and political activism at L.A. gathering on Sunday, where he ripped Trump, Sanders, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the evangelical right in particular and the Republican Party more generally.

Strong words

Just prior to characterizing Trump as a cancer on the country, Carrey focused his ire on McConnell and said he was “incredibly dangerous, a threat to homeland security. And now he has the nerve to come out a couple of days ago and ask for bipartisanship.”

Of congressional Republicans, Carrey said, “These are not people you can deal with. You cannot be bipartisan with a criminal. A rapist needs to be removed, not negotiated with. These people are raping our system, they’re destroying it right in front of us.”

“This corrupt Republican congress that was … These people have to be removed from our system because they’re bad for us,” he added.

Speaking of the Christian right who make up the base of conservative support for Republicans, Carrey mused, “I think they’re going to find out once and for all that the Christian right has never been about morality, it’s been about holding on to power and using morality to do so.”

Disturbing artwork and Democrat primaries

Carrey also took time to showcase some of his recently completed works of “art,” such as a painting of McConnell as a turtle about to be swamped by a “blue wave.”

He also showed off his paintings of Trump as a Cyclops and, more disturbingly, as a Roman soldier crucifying Jesus.

On a lighter note, the actor also signaled his preferred picks for the 2020 Democratic Party presidential ticket, which would feature failed Texas Senate candidate Robert “Beto” O’Rourke and California Sen. Kamala Harris, a pairing he described as “not the lesser of the evils.”

Jim Carrey has always been known to be a touch on the “crazy” side, even in the heyday of his acting career. But as his career slows, he has been consumed by Trump Derangement Syndrome and his level of “crazy” has gone off the charts.

Everything Carrey said about Trump and Republicans screams “Projection!” of what progressive leftist Democrats are guilty of, and we can only hope and pray that Carrey’s friends and family will intercede to get him the help he so obviously needs, lest he destroy himself with seething, unbridled hatred.
