Busloads of illegal migrants from Texas dropped off outside D.C. residence of Vice President Harris

Over the past few weeks and months, the Republican governors of Texas, Arizona, and now Florida have arranged transportation for voluntary groups of illegal migrants to be relocated to Democrat-run “sanctuary city” jurisdictions like Washington D.C., New York City, and Chicago, Illinois.

That effort got kicked up a notch on Thursday when two buses from Texas carrying upwards of 100 illegal migrants were dropped off near the entrance of the Naval Observatory, the official D.C. residence of Vice President Kamala Harris, the Conservative Brief reported.

Those busloads of illegal migrants arriving outside the vice president’s residence sharply contradicted Harris’ repeated insistence just a few days prior that the southern border was “secure” during an interview with NBC News.

Fox News reported that the two buses had originated in Del Rio, Texas, and carried a group of approximately 100 illegal migrants who had recently been apprehended near the Eagle Pass border crossing, and was comprised of “migrants from Venezuela, Uruguay, Colombia, and Mexico.”

It was members of the media who first greeted the group of migrants milling around outside the Naval Observatory, but it wasn’t long before members of a local activist group known as Sanctuary DMV arrived to help shepherd the group of migrants to a nearby church.

These were just the latest of dozens of buses of illegal migrants that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has sent to the Washington D.C. area since April, as well as more recently to New York City and Chicago.

The reaction of local Democratic officials to the buses that have collectively deposited a few thousand illegal migrants in the supposed “sanctuary” of D.C. has been absurd, as they have sharply denounced Abbott and declared the arrival of a few thousand migrants to be a dire, resource-taxing emergency that demands immediate federal assistance — despite the fact that small border towns in Texas receive that many newly arrived illegal migrants nearly every day.

Florida sends migrants to Martha’s Vineyard

Meanwhile, just hours earlier, Fox News had reported separately that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) had got in on the act by flying a group of around 50 illegal migrants, mostly from Venezuela, up to the supposed “sanctuary” jurisdiction of Martha’s Vineyard, an extremely wealthy and overwhelmingly Democratic enclave off the coast of Massachusetts.

“Yes, Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard today were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations,” Taryn Fenske, communications director for DeSantis, told Fox News in a statement.

“States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies,” the spokesperson added.

Migrant relocation efforts work brilliantly to expose Democratic hypocrisy

The reaction from the liberals in Martha’s Vineyard had been just as absurd and hypocritical as those from D.C., as they furiously denounced Gov. DeSantis for what he had done — even as they supposedly welcome all who want to come to this great nation — and scrambled to declare a local emergency over the unexpected arrival of just 50 illegal migrants, a tiny fraction of what southern border states unexpectedly receive on a daily basis.

Though some might dismiss these migrant relocation efforts by Texas, Florida, and Arizona as trollish behavior, it has nevertheless worked to expose the fraudulence of Democratic virtue-signaling about their “sanctuary” policies and highlighted just how feckless President Biden and Vice President Harris have been in dealing with the problems of illegal immigration and an unsecured border.
