John Brennan says Trump needs to be forcibly removed from office

As the battle rages on to determine if former Vice President Joe Biden will be handed the keys to the White House or if President Donald Trump will remain steadfast in his allegations that the 2020 election was stolen, many of Trump’s opponents are slamming the president for daring to do anything other than immediately concede.

Former CIA Director John Brennan called Trump a “cornered cat” who should be removed from office via use of the U.S. Constitution’s 25th Amendment.

Brennan’s statement comes despite Biden not yet being the certified legal winner of the presidential election.

Why the 25th?

Brennan, one of the president’s fiercest public critics, dropped the bombshell suggestion Monday on CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time,” the Washington Examiner reported.

The former CIA chief even suggested that if Vice President Mike Pence “had an ounce of fortitude and spine,” he would gather a majority of Trump’s Cabinet to begin the process of invoking Section 4 of the 25th Amendment, which means the president would be labeled “unfit” to carry out his duties.

His reasoning echoed the fears of many Democrats who believe, with no evidence to support their conspiracy, that Trump will use his last 70 or so days in the White House to unleash a storm of executive orders aimed at doing as much damage to Democrats as possible.

“He’s like a cornered cat, tiger, and he is going to lash out, and the fact, again, that he has the powers of the presidency in his hands is quite worrisome,” Brennan said. “What can be done to stop anything he wants to do in the next 70 days?” Watch in the clip below:

History of Trump hatred

Brennan’s insistence that Trump be removed from office using one of the rarest and most powerful methods available came just months after the former CIA director warned that the biggest threat to the 2020 election was Trump himself, according to Business Insider.

“Trump has a very well established and recognized track record of misrepresenting the truth, and he will continue to do so. And unfortunately, there are too many people who just drink in that demagogic rhetoric that he spews out,” he said during an exclusive interview with Business Insider in October.

Of course, the Obama-appointed Brennan was one of the intelligence chiefs who briefed then President-elect Trump on the reports of Russian interference in the 2016 election — intelligence that Trump had doubts about. Shortly after, in a book Brennan wrote about his time in the White House, he said he became “disgusted” with Trump.

Regardless, Brennan’s fantasy of Trump being hauled out of the White House with the use of the 25th Amendment is nothing more than a pipe dream. Pence has made loud and clear his support for the president’s fight to prevail in his legal battles to hold the White House for a second term.
