Fox contributor Dan Bongino reveals Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer diagnosis

Fox News contributor Dan Bongino shared some unfortunate news with listeners on his radio show on Friday, confirming the worst fears about a recent health issue.

Following surgery for a tumor on his neck, Bongino revealed that doctors had confirmed that it was cancerous, although he insisted that he is “optimistic” about the treatment plan and his ability to overcome this trial, The Daily Caller reported.

Lymphoma diagnosis

The 45-year-old Bongino, a former New York City police officer and U.S. Secret Service agent turned conservative pundit, announced a few weeks ago that he would be undergoing surgery to remove a lump on his neck, Fox News reported at the time.

“Thank you all for your kind words & well wishes. I’m out of surgery & I feel good. They removed the entire tumor from my neck,” Bongino tweeted on Oct. 7.

He continued, “The bad news is, it looks like lymphoma. The good news is, there are treatments options. Either way, it’ll be okay. Thank you all for your support.”

Sharing the bad news

Bongino took a moment during his radio show on Friday to share with his audience the grim news that had been delivered to him and his wife Paula by the doctors, the Washington Examiner reported.

“We did get a diagnosis yesterday from my doctor,” Bongino said. “Unfortunately, it is cancer. It’s lymphoma, the Hodgkin’s type. But it’s treatable.”

“I feel like I owe you an update, we’re gonna leave it there. Nothing to be depressed about, there’s a treatment plan,” he continued.

Staying positive

Bongino told listeners that he isn’t going to let the diagnosis knock him down.

“As I’ve always said, and I mean it, everybody’s got their obstacles, this is just another one for me and Paula,” Bongino said. “But, I do have cancer, and that is hard for me to say, but we’ll be okay and I am optimistic, that’s not some act I’m putting on for the show.”

He then praised his doctors, family, friends, and support network, and thanked his audience — “the best in the business” — for their outpouring of prayers and well wishes since he first broke the news of his health issue weeks ago.
