Fox News host and podcaster Dan Bongino has called on Republicans in the House and Senate to impeach President Joe Biden over his job handling of COVID-19 and the immigration crisis at the southern U.S. border, the Washington Examiner reported.
Citing a precedent set by Democrats, Bongino suggested that “new rules are in effect,” and said President Biden has to go. He added, “The Democrats think impeachment is a strictly political tool to get rid of your political enemies, even when they don’t have a reason? You know, fake impeachment one, fake impeachment two over Trump. Well, now we have a real reason.”
Biden’s job performance has been absolutely abysmal. Furthermore, its been borderline criminal in the case of the crisis at the southern border. The Biden administration is releasing COVID-19-positive illegal immigrants all throughout Texas and, in the process, endangering public health.
Bongino pointed out that President Biden essentially facilitated an “invasion” of the United States by inviting illegal immigrants to the border while gutting border protection measures.
The verdict is in
The verdict is in on President Biden’s performance leading the nation, and it isn’t looking good for the 78-year-old president. Biden has been everything former President Trump warned us about.
Since Biden took over in January, the number of illegal immigrants pouring into the United States has skyrocketed. U.S. Border Patrol agents had nearly 200,000 encounters with illegal immigrants in the month of June alone.
According to the New York Post, CBP Acting Commissioner Troy Miller said on Friday, “We are in the hottest part of the summer, and we are seeing a high number of distress calls to CBP from migrants abandoned in treacherous terrain by smugglers with no regard for human life.”
The numbers have been steadily rising on a monthly basis since President Biden was sworn into office.
The responsibility for this situation lies entirely with President Biden and his administration. He has refused to shut the border down and implement the common-sense immigration policies that Trump successfully deployed during his time in office.
Path to impeachment
Impeaching President Biden is a long-shot effort right now with a deadlocked Senate and Democrat-held majority in the House.
However, it’s widely predicted that Democrats will lose majority control of the House in the 2022 midterm elections. The situation in the Senate is far murkier, but Republicans simply need to swing a few seats to emerge with a victory there.
Even if Republicans cannot impeach President Biden right now, they should begin laying the groundwork for impeaching Biden after the midterm elections, when they can use the same tactics Democrats used against Trump, but for legitimate reasons.
