Bodycam footage shows aftermath of domestic dispute between GA Senate candidate Warnock and ex-wife

In the hugely important Georgia Senate runoff race, incumbent Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) leads Democratic challenger Rev. Raphael Warnock by a mere 0.2%, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average.

The race has been cast in a new light, however, after bodycam footage of Atlanta police officers responding to a domestic dispute in March between Warnock and his then-wife was aired by Fox News host Tucker Carlson, as Breitbart reported.

The incident in March

In its report on the incident in March, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution described it as a “heated argument” over issues related to child custody and ongoing divorce proceedings, which was finalized a few months later.

Ouleye Ndoye, then the wife of Warnock, told police he had run over her foot with his car while they were arguing about whether she could take their two children on a trip to visit family members in West Africa, permission he had refused to grant.

That report noted that Warnock, who was not charged over the incident, denied running over her foot and insisted “it didn’t happen.” According to a police report and medical first responders, there had been no indication of any real damage to Ndoye’s foot following the dispute.

The bodycam footage

But while the mainstream media may have been satisfied with that, Carlson was not. His program obtained the bodycam footage of the responding officer who spoke with both Warnock and Ndoye in the immediate aftermath of their argument.

In it, Warnock described how Ndoye had refused to close the door of the car. “I barely move, and all of the sudden she’s screaming that I ran over her foot. I don’t believe it,” he said. As for Ndoye, she told the officer, with a wavering voice and on the verge of tears, “This man’s running for United States Senate, and all he cares about right now is his reputation.”

“I work at the mayor’s office, and this is a big problem. I’ve been trying to be very quiet about the way that he is for the sake of my kids and his reputation,” she added. “I’ve tried to keep the way that he acts under wraps for a long time, and today he crossed the line. So that is what is going on here, and he’s a great actor. He is phenomenal at putting on a really good show.”

The candidates respond

The Journal-Constitution did a follow-up after Carlson aired the footage that it could have obtained but ignored — footage that Warnock spokesman Michael Brewer dismissed as a “desperate and shameful” attack by Republicans.

Loeffler “spent her entire campaign attacking Reverend Warnock and has now stooped to a new low of attacking his family,” Brewer reportedly said. “While she continues to wage her pathetic and dishonest campaign, Reverend Warnock will keep fighting for the people of Georgia who Kelly Loeffler left behind.”

Loeffler, on the other hand, told the Atlanta outlet, “Domestic abuse is a very serious issue, and this new body cam footage is certainly difficult to watch.” She added: “Georgians deserve answers to these very serious allegations, and his ex-wife’s voice deserves to be heard.”
