‘Big Bang’ by Elon Musk said to be under way

Tens of thousands of voices that the old, liberal, and censorship-driven Twitter had sought to silence by banning them from the platform apparently are being unbanned.

Reports said the move to return many of the thousands of silenced voices was being called the “Big Bang.”

Owner Elon Musk recently asked in a poll whether the suspended accounts should be brought back, and respondents said yes.

The move is coming shortly after Twitter restored President Donald Trump’s account.

”Should Twitter offer a general amnesty to suspended accounts, provided that they have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam?” Musk’s most recent poll said.

When 72.4% of more than three million votes said yes, he responded, “The people have spoken. Amnesty begins next week. Vox Populi, Vox Dei.”

Among random social media broadsides against the company, several have included the warning that it could shut down, even though that’s unlikely.

MIT Technology Review was among those, warning at one point, “Twitter’s potential collapse could wipe out vast records of recent human history.”

According to Daily Wire, the reinstatements reportedly already have begun.

”The news comes after Musk announced last week a blanket amnesty for Twitter users permanently suspended from the platform,” the report said.

The report cited Platformer in explaining the process apparently will involve some 62,000 accounts.

It explained, “Investor slides shared by Musk say that the daily inflow of new users has reached two million, while ‘user active minutes per day’ likewise reached eight billion. The company now has more than 250 million monetizable daily active users, Musk says. All three metrics exceed previous company records.”

Musk also has discussed various updates, including enhanced video, long-form tweets, encrypted messages and more.
