Former President Donald Trump and his administration were intensely criticized for months by then-candidate Joe Biden and his allies in the mainstream media with regard to Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Breitbart, in a turn of events, it’s now President Biden’s White House that finds itself in the bullseye of a growing COVID-19 scandal, as multiple White House officials and other Democrats have tested positive for COVID-19 after coming into contact with a group of Texas Democrats, of which six, as of this writing, have tested positive for the virus.
After an outbreak of the COVID-19 virus that stemmed from a Rose Garden ceremony during Trump’s term in the White House, the mainstream media ran breaking news segments constantly on what they labeled as a “super spreader” event, but have remained curiously silent on the current outbreak.
Flashback to Biden’s criticism
Last year, Biden said “Quite frankly, I wasn’t surprised,” after learning that then-President Trump had been diagnosed with COVID-19. Biden — and plenty of other high-profile Democrats — routinely slammed Trump and his administration for not wearing masks.
“Anybody who contracts the virus by essentially saying, masks don’t matter, social distancing doesn’t matter, I think is responsible for what happens to them,” Biden said at the time.
The Trump administration was written off by many in the mainstream media as “reckless” and “arrogant” in their approach to the virus, and ridiculed relentlessly by the same group of media hacks.
The criticism was intensified after the Rose Garden “super spreader” event, which resulted in a number of Trump-era officials testing positive for COVID-19.
Now, a strange silence
It’s interesting to witness the strange silence from most of those same members of media as news broke earlier this week that a number of the Texas Democrats who fled to Washington — all of whom were vaccinated — have tested positive for the virus.
New reports indicate that there are multiple confirmed positive tests among White House staffers, at least one of which was previously undisclosed. Staffers for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) office were also confirmed to have tested positive after meeting with the Texas Democrats.
According to the mainstream media’s prior definition of a “super spreader” event, the latest outbreak certainly fits the bill, but don’t expect to see that term used when Democrats are involved, especially as the public is now aware of the fact that the Texas Democrats went maskless on the plane to Washington — a move which they have now labeled as “sloppy,” as Yahoo News noted.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was forced to admit that an outbreak of positive COVID-19 tests has occurred in the White House, but said that their current policy dictates that they only reveal positive results of “commissioned officers,” meaning that there could be a high number of less-important staffers in the White House who are currently infected.
While nobody wishes ill-will on anyone who’s tested positive for COVID-19, it’s not a stretch to presume that Trump has had more than a few chuckles in seeing the latest news develop, while watching his successor’s White House pull out all of the stops in an attempt to downplay the situation.
