Joe Biden was spotted in a mask after his wife contracted COVID, leading to speculation that the left wants to bring back pandemic hysteria before 2024.
The White House said Biden would be wearing a mask indoors as a precaution - and indeed the 80-year-old was spotted in a face covering Tuesday.
It comes as the media are once again stoking fear and some colleges and hospitals are bringing back mandates.
"Biden is wearing a mask again," conservative commentator Kyle Becker tweeted. "The fix is in. They are bringing back Covid hysteria for the election."
Anthony Fauci is also popping up on cable news again - leading some to fear that the progressive authoritarians are plotting the return of lockdowns.
Until recently, Biden had stopped talking about the pandemic - satisfied to take credit for a return to normal after he declared war on millions of Americans who objected to taking the vaccine. Biden officially lifted the COVID state of emergency in May.
The White House insists there is no plan to bring back restrictions - dismissing the speculation as "misinformation."
The term "misinformation" began circulating widely during the pandemic as a tool of censorship - with dissent against lockdowns and mandates classified as being against "science." (Biden infamously said he would not introduce vaccine mandates, only to reverse course.)
President Trump made a video warning his supporters to be vigilant, saying the left wants "more censorship, more illegal drop boxes, more mail-in ballots, and trillions of dollars in payoffs to their political allies heading into the 2024 election."
"Does that sound familiar? These are bad people," he said.
Republicans are pre-emptively attacking mandates, with pro-Trump Ohio Senator J.D. Vance introducing a bill to ban federal mandates.
"We tried mask mandates once in this country. They failed to control the spread of respiratory viruses, violated basic bodily freedom, and set our fellow citizens against one another," Vance said.
Trump is right. The left is trying to bring lockdowns back. Next week, I’ll introduce legislation to stop it. https://t.co/57XzKmCAnX

The CDC has appeared to leave the door open to restrictions. The agency downplayed its authority in a statement, saying it "does not issue mandates, we make recommendations, and they are based on the current circumstances."
"We will continue monitoring and will adjust our recommendations accordingly."
The big question is whether the American people would go along with this nonsense all over again.
