According to Fox Business, Labor Secretary Marty Walsh just argued that a “strong immigration policy” is necessary to ensure “companies and businesses have the opportunity to employ people.”
It’s the complete opposite of “America First.”
Walsh’s comments came on Friday during an appearance on Fox Business’s Varney & Co. That appearance came after the U.S. Department of Labor released the latest jobs report.
What the report shows is that the U.S. economy added 263,000 jobs in the month of November. That figure did exceed the expectations of Refinitiv economists, who were forecasting 200,000 new jobs. But, the figure is a decrease from October’s 284,000 new jobs.
In addition to this, the report showed that the unemployment rate, as expected, held steady at 3.7%.
“The issue of immigration”
Walsh started off by claiming that “the biggest threat to our economy is that we don’t have a good, strong immigration policy.”
Now, don’t get confused by Walsh’s call for a “strong immigration policy.” It’s not what you think.
Walsh continued: “some people are so focused on the southern border, and that’s really not the issue: the issue of immigration is how do we make sure that companies and businesses have the opportunity to employ people.”
Walsh went on to say that “we’ve seen a lack of immigration in our country over the last five years,” and he called for Congress to “address that issue.”
What about Americans?
Breitbart News reports that this is all part of the Biden administration’s plan to essentially replace American workers with immigrants.
Currently, Walsh’s peers in the White House are inviting millions of foreign workers through the southern border and airports, via multiple pathways — legal immigration, illegal migration, parole migrants, asylum migrants, student workers, and even workers who enter with tourist visas. Officials are now predicting a huge inflow in 2023 that would deliver roughly seven million migrants — or two migrants for each of the 3.6 million Americans born in 2020.
Breibart explains that the reason for wanting to replace American workers with foreign workers is because it’s pro-business in that “it cuts wages, raises rents, and boosts retail sales.”
But, the cost, according to Breitbart, is that it “demotes the critical needs of” Americans.
Indeed, Walsh didn’t seem too concerned when confronted by the fact that 6 million Americans are unemployed. He simply made a general statement, saying, “what we want to do is make sure as they come back into the workforce.”
