Biden’s judicial nominee refused to answer simple question 9 times in a row

Americans generally do not like politicians because many of them simply refuse to be transparent when asked simple questions.

That was evidenced in a humiliating fashion last week as Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) grilled Anne Traum, a law professor at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas President and President Joe Biden’s nominee for the U.S. District Judge for the District of Nevada, the Daily Caller reported

Traum was asked a simple question by the Republican senator with regard to whether or not she feels that criminals should be forgiven in the name of social justice.

The exchange, on Traum’s part, was beyond ridiculous, as she was asked the same yes or no question a staggering nine times by the senator before he was finally forced to embarrass her and give up.

Refusal to answer

Kennedy began his time by asking Traum, “Do you think we should forgive criminal misbehavior in the name of social justice?” The law professor’s first answer, to be expected, involved dodging the question.

“Senator, thank you for that question. I recognize that all issues of crime and all responses to crime are fundamentally policy issues. So, those are important issues, they are important for our community and our nation, but I leave those policy issues to the policymakers if confirmed as a judge I would not be a policy maker,” Traum responded.

Kennedy followed up: “I’m not asking your opinion as a judge. I’m asking your opinion as a person, as a law professor. I’ll stipulate, with all of you, that you’re all going to be fair and unbiased. Now, do you think misbehavior and illegal acts should be forgiven in the name of social justice?”

In her next reply after being asked the same question, she admitted that she hasn’t “taken that view,” to which Kennedy followed by asking, “That’s no?” Kennedy said. “Is your answer ‘no?'”

Traum then repeated her last line about not taking such a view, and Kennedy wasn’t even close to moving on, as he would press her six more times, asking the same question.

Her favorite color?

After providing nine asinine replies to a question absolutely relevant to today’s criminal justice process, Traum finally answered the senator’s next question, which regarded her favorite color.

“Blue,” Traum responded, prompting Kennedy to breathe a sigh of relief that he was able to muster at least one straight answer from the Biden judicial nominee.

“I can’t vote for you, not if you’re not going to answer the questions,” Kennedy concluded. “I mean that was embarrassing.”
