The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) made a shocking update last week regarding Obamacare availability for illegal aliens enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
According to Breitbart, the HHS has now made Obamacare available for illegals with DACA status.
The ruling came at the same time some 25 million Americans lack any kind of healthcare coverage -- typically due to the high cost.
HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra has long pushed for DACA illegals to be eligible for Obamacare healthcare benefits.
The updated policy from President Joe Biden's HHS sparked immediate backlash from Senate Republicans, who say the new program is "unjust" and "economically unsustainable for millions of American citizens."
Sens. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Mike Lee (R-UT), J.D. Vance (R-OH), and Kevin Cramer (R-ND) penned an open letter to the HHS chief and expressed their concerns.
"At a time when our nation has endured record numbers of illegal immigrants crossing the southern border, this announcement sends a clear message: Fixing the manufactured border crisis is the last thing that the Biden administration wants to do," the group wrote.
They pointed out how most working-class Americans are struggling financially and economically under the Biden administration.
They added, "And now, with this misguided rule, President Biden is asking these same hardworking, taxpaying Americans to foot the bill for illegal immigrants’ health care. This new policy is not only unjust, it is economically unsustainable for millions of American citizens."
"Struggling American taxpayers are already on the hook for the costs of housing and welfare for illegal immigrants," the group of Republican senators added.
The GOP senators slammed the Biden administration for losing track of some 85,000 illegal migrant children and torched the administration for prioritizing other policies, such as the new healthcare policy for DACA illegals, over finding and safely returning the children, who have likely been trafficked.
"It is clear based on your previous congressional testimony that you have no interest in locating these innocent children. Instead, your main priority—evidenced by your announcement of this health care giveaway to immigrants—is to distract from President Biden’s national security and humanitarian crisis occurring at the border," they wrote.
The senators also demanded that Bacerra provide data on how much the program will cost taxpayers if all DACA illegal aliens sign up for it.
They also want to know if the program could be expanded to include the relatives of DACA migrants, which would significantly and dangerously increase the cost burden on American citizens.
