Biden to award Presidential Medal of Freedom to anthem-kneeler Megan Rapinoe

Just how desperate is President Joe Biden for something positive to happen for himself and his fellow Democrats?

Well, the White House just announced that Biden has decided to award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to none other than Megan Rapinoe, the far-left soccer player known for kneeling during the playing of our National Anthem.

This isn’t a joke: President Biden is giving Rapinoe and 16 others the Presidential Medal of Freedom – our nation’s highest civilian honor – and he made the announcement just ahead of the 4th of July weekend.

What better way to celebrate our nation’s Independence Day than by giving the President Medal of Freedom to a woman who hates our flag and everything it stands for?

It’s a farce.

The White House announcement begins with some general statements about the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

It states, for example, that the honor is “presented to individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal, public or private endeavors.”

The announcement continues:

President Biden has long said that America can be defined by one word: possibilities. These seventeen Americans demonstrate the power of possibilities and embody the soul of the nation – hard work, perseverance, and faith. They have overcome significant obstacles to achieve impressive accomplishments in the arts and sciences, dedicated their lives to advocating for the most vulnerable among us, and acted with bravery to drive change in their communities – and across the world – while blazing trails for generations to come.

Rapinoe – “the soul of the nation”?

So, you are probably wondering where Rapinhoe fits in all of this.

It’s a good question – one that the White House doesn’t answer. All that the White House says about Rapinhoe is this:

Megan Rapinoeis an Olympic gold medalist and two-time Women’s World Cup champion. She also captains OL Reign in the National Women’s Soccer League. She is a prominent advocate for gender pay equality, racial justice, and LGBTQI+ rights.

Apparently, these days, anthem-kneeling is enough to earn the country’s highest civilian honor.

Other recipients

Some of the recipients other than Rapinoe to receive the honor include Simone Biles, the late Steve Jobs, the late John McCain, Denzel Washington, and more.

The White House plans to present the awards to these individuals on July 7, 2022.
