Using same anti-Trump logic from 2020, Biden responsible for hundreds of COVID deaths per day

President Joe Biden repeatedly vowed to substantially reduce, if not end altogether, the tragic daily death toll wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic, and to that effect has enjoyed the benefit of highly-touted vaccines and new treatments intended to reduce the severity of infections.

Yet, under Biden’s presidency, hundreds of Americans continue to die every day due to the novel coronavirus more than a year and a half since he first took office and vowed to end the deadly threat of disease, Breitbart reported.

Now consider how, under former President Donald Trump, all of the COVID deaths that occurred during his tenure were attributed directly to him by the same corporate media that now has seemingly absolved Biden of any responsibility whatsoever for the continually mounting virus-related death toll.

Hundreds still die every day from COVID

According to the Wall Street Journal, the current average for COVID-related deaths is around 320 per day — down significantly from an Omicron-fueled peak of 2,500 deaths per day earlier this year but still above a low of around 200 deaths per day during a lull between waves in 2021.

The overwhelming majority of those who died from the virus thus far in 2022 were seniors, around 85 percent, which is similar to the rate in 2020 while Trump was president, despite the fact that Biden has had vaccines and treatments in his arsenal that Trump did not have in his administration’s battle against the pandemic.

It was noted further that, once again and for the third year in a row — and apparently in spite of Biden’s efforts and promises — COVID-19 was on track to be the third-leading cause of death for Americans, trailing only heart disease and cancer.

COVID deaths have increased under Biden

Breitbart reported, and readers undoubtedly recall, that former President Trump had been saddled with the blame for virtually each and every COVID-related death that occurred up until Jan. 20, 2021, by his political opponents in the Democratic Party and the media.

According to data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, that meant slightly more than 424,000 deaths were blamed on Trump. In less than a year, however, and regardless of the benefit of vaccines and new leadership, that cumulative death toll had doubled under Biden.

Now, as of Monday, the CDC data shows that there have been a cumulative total of more than 1,045,000 COVID deaths in the U.S., meaning well more than half of all who have died from the virus have succumbed to that disease under Biden’s presidency.

Yet, contrary to the blame heaped entirely on Trump for COVID-related deaths, the media has largely allowed Biden to dodge that same accountability applied to his predecessor.

Same anti-Trump logic must be applied to Biden

To be sure, President Biden is not personally responsible for each and every death as a result of COVID-19 any more than former President Trump was.

That said, in extending the prior logic of Democrats and their media allies, if Trump was to be accountable for the COVID-related deaths that occurred during his tenure — ignoring the fact that it was a new and unknown disease without vaccines or treatments — then Biden must be doubly accountable for a surging and ongoing daily death toll that has transpired in spite of a wealth of knowledge about the virus and, of course, the benefit of vaccines and treatments that were previously unavailable.
