After serving roughly four decades in the Senate and two terms as vice president, one wonders why Joe Biden would — at his advanced age — want to subject himself to the rigors of yet another campaign for the White House.
According to comments Biden made at an event in Delaware on Tuesday, among the main reasons he is running is so that he can eventually be remembered as “one of the most progressive presidents in U.S. history,” as Breitbart reported.
Joe the moderate
For much of the run-up to his 2020 campaign, Biden was widely seen as the sensible, moderate choice for Democrats, Independents, and Republicans who don’t like President Donald Trump.
Over the course of his political career, Biden has held some decidely pro-life positions, took credit for writing the controversial (in the eyes of liberals) 1994 crime bill, and was even tough on illegal immigration.
However, all of that was before his party began its dramatic leftward shift, and he suddenly needed to take steps to appease the fringes of the base.
Biden admittedly now aspires to be among the most progressive leaders ever to occupy the Oval Office, and the radical so-called “unity platform” he unveiled in early July is proof of that.
This change in direction is not a sudden one, either, as Biden hinted about his intentions months ago. Watch:
Today, Biden has completely sold out to the far left wing of the Democratic Party, allowing Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to dictate policy platforms and fully embracing the type of radical proposals embodied by the Green New Deal of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
Any conservative who may, for whatever reason, be contemplating casting a vote for Biden needs to listen to his words very carefully and pay attention to his plans for America before pulling the lever this fall.
Supporting Biden in the upcoming election has the potential to do far more than simply rid the White House of President Trump.
Indeed, a vote for Biden is a vote to permanently and dramatically transform this country into something that would undoubtedly have the nation’s Founders and Framers weeping in the streets of Philadelphia.
