U.S. President Joe Biden, via his Twitter account, has just made a claim about "MAGA" Republicans' southern border policies that have left many perplexed.

In fact, the claim has left some even wondering whether Biden might be trying his hand at some "parody."

That's because, as we will see, Biden's claim would appear to be more attributable to his own southern border policies rather than those of the "MAGA Republicans" whom Biden is always deriding.

"MAGA Republicans"

Biden made the claim in a tweet that he posted to his official Twitter account on Saturday evening.

"MAGA House Republican proposals would slash funding for border security – a move that could allow nearly 900 pounds of fentanyl into our country," he wrote. "We need more resources to secure the border. Not less."

What is Biden talking about? The Washington Examiner reports:

His comments appear to be directed at the House Freedom Caucus's budget proposal released earlier this month that counters his own $6.9 trillion budget that's likely to be dead on arrival in the lower chamber. Republican leadership has not yet released an alternative to Biden's plan.

Background

At this point, there is no disputing the fact that southern border illegal immigration numbers have exploded since Biden took office. The numbers prove this.

In December 2022, one of the worst months on record, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) saw 251,487 illegal alien encounters. In fact, the first three months of the 2023 Fiscal Year - which began in October 2022 - were so bad that Biden decided that something needed to be done in order to save himself from all of the criticism that he was receiving for his mishandling of the southern border.

The result was Biden's first trip to the U.S.-Mexico border and a plan to ostensibly reduce illegal immigration.

But, the problem is not just that individuals are capitalizing on Biden's lax border policies by illegally entering America.

Congressional Republicans, in recent months, have particularly been raising awareness about the fact that Biden's lax border policies are allowing fentanyl to be smuggled into the United States - via the U.S.-Mexico border - at an alarming rate.

It "must be parody"

It is these facts that led former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany to suggest that Biden's tweet "must be a parody tweet."

It does appear to be one of the only logical explanations. That or Biden has finally completely lost his mind.
