Biden Labels Trump a 'Convicted Felon', Claims Election Defeat Disturbs Him

 June 5, 2024

In a notable shift of campaign strategy, President Joe Biden has openly labeled former President Donald Trump a "convicted felon," claiming Trump's loss in the 2020 election is adversely affecting his mental stability, Fox News.

At a recent fundraiser in Greenwich, Connecticut, President Biden escalated his critique of Trump, directly addressing his recent felony convictions and their implications.

Biden Breaks Silence on Trump's Legal Troubles

For the first time during his campaign, President Biden referred to Donald Trump as a "convicted felon" at the Greenwich fundraiser held this Monday. This statement comes after Trump was found guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records last week in a New York criminal trial.

The verdict was a climax of legal proceedings that captured the nation's attention, with Trump maintaining that his trial was a politically motivated attack by the Democrats to derail his presidential campaign.

Addressing the public and media, Biden dismissed these allegations at the White House on Friday, asserting the legitimacy of the judicial proceedings.

Campaign Strategy Shifts Amid Trial

Last Tuesday, the Biden campaign demonstrated a significant shift in strategy by organizing a news conference outside the courthouse in Lower Manhattan. Notable figures including actor Robert De Niro and former police officers Harry Dunn and Michael Fanone joined the event, showing a strong front against Trump's allegations.

Previously, Biden had avoided discussing Trump's criminal charges publicly during the trial, responding to Trump's characterization of the trial as a "SHAM TRIAL" only in minimal terms.

This change in tactic reflects a more aggressive stance by the Biden campaign as it confronts direct attacks from Trump and his representatives.

Trump's Campaign Fires Back Amid Legal Woes

Reacting to Biden's remarks, Trump's campaign has been vocal in its criticism. Senior adviser Jason Miller accused Biden of using Trump's trial to divert public attention from ongoing investigations into Biden's son, Hunter, and alleged financial dealings by the Biden family with foreign entities.

"Crooked Joe Biden will do anything to distract from Hunter’s trial and the fact his family has raked in tens of millions of dollars from China, Russia, and Ukraine," stated Miller.

Miller also promised that the alleged corruption involving the Biden family would conclude with the upcoming elections, aiming to rally the Republican base with promises of ending "government access for personal profit."

Political and Financial Implications of the Trial

The political landscape is also witnessing a financial tug-of-war, with Trump's campaign outpacing Biden's in fundraising efforts. In May, Trump and the Republican National Committee amassed a significant $141 million, overshadowing Biden's campaign funds which totaled $84 million as of April.

Despite Biden's aggressive new approach, national polls and surveys in battleground states show him trailing Trump, highlighting the uphill battle he faces in the forthcoming election.

Biden's direct accusations come at a critical time when both campaigns are vying for public and political influence, marking a pivotal phase in the presidential race.
