Despite campaigning as a unifying candidate, President Joe Biden has repeatedly singled out unvaccinated Americans for criticism amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
This week, Fox News Channel personality Raymond Arroyo took aim at Biden in a harsh critique of his “demonization” of those who have chosen not to get vaccinated against the virus. His remarks came Thursday during an appearance on The Ingraham Angle.
“It all creates this fictitious notion that we should be panicked, that Aunt Kathy is bringing a deadly pathogen into the house along with her Christmas casserole,” Arroyo said of Biden’s rhetoric, according to Fox.
“Hatred and demonization”
While he claimed that the virus and its variants are “moving in the right direction,” he went on to ask: “Is there a vaccination for hatred and demonization of fellow citizens?”
Of course, the president is not the only public figure who has expressed harsh criticism of unvaccinated Americans.
White House medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, for example, encouraged citizens this week to exclude unvaccinated loved ones from their holiday celebrations.
“I think we’re dealing with a serious enough situation right now that if there’s an unvaccinated person, I would say, ‘I’m very sorry, but not this time, maybe another time when this is all over,'” he said during an MSNBC appearance on Tuesday.
“At the heart of the Biden solution”
Not only did Arroyo take exception to such supposed “demonization” by the Biden administration, but he also blasted Biden’s push to provide rapid COVID-19 tests to Americans.
“The testing regime, which does nothing to stop the disease, I might add, does amp up the panic,” the pundit claimed. “And it is at the heart of the Biden solution.”
Furthermore, Arroyo insisted that such a plan exposes the president’s hypocrisy, noting that Biden “had been exposed to a staffer who had COVID just days before he was coughing like a TB victim” while addressing reporters earlier in the week.
“Do you see what’s happening here?” Arroyo asked. “Biden is telling you to keep grandma and grandpa away from your Christmas tree, don’t let him near the kids. But he’s free to ramble around coughing on everybody heedless of test results.”
Even as Biden pushes his “pandemic of the unvaccinated” rhetoric, it is worth noting that Vice President Kamala Harris has staked out a somewhat different position, declaring earlier this week: “I don’t think this is a moment to talk about fault.”
