For well over a year, President Donald Trump and his supporters have raised concerns about former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter and his questionable business dealings with suspicious foreign nationals.
These concerns were routinely and even credible reports were dismissed by Democrats and the media as conspiracy theories and even “Russian disinformation.” Nevertheless, it was confirmed earlier this week that Hunter Biden’s activities are subject to a federal investigation — and his father has reacted to the latest development.
Although presumptive President-elect Joe Biden has been tight-lipped about the specifics of the revelation, he insisted Friday that he is “proud” of his son when asked about his alleged criminal wrongdoing, Fox News reported.
At the end of a Biden “transition” event on Friday, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy shouted to Biden, “Did Hunter Biden commit a crime?”
When that question was ignored and received no response, Doocy followed with, “Have you spoken to your son, Mr. President-elect?”
Biden simply replied, “I’m proud of my son” as he exited the stage without saying another word.

Rehash of his initial response
During the event to announce more nominations for positions in his prospective administration, Biden consistently ignored questions about his son being under federal investigation, ostensibly for tax issues presumably related to his international business dealings, particularly with China, The Daily Caller reported.
Biden’s expression of pride in his son was merely a rehashing of his initial response to the public acknowledgment of the federal probe by Hunter Biden just days earlier.
In a press release issued by Biden’s team on Wednesday, Hunter Biden said in a statement, “I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs.”
“I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors,” he wrote.
Attached to that statement was a separate statement from Biden’s team that avoided any mention of the investigation and simply declared, “President-elect Biden is deeply proud of his son, who has fought through difficult challenges, including the vicious personal attacks of recent months, only to emerge stronger.”
