Fox News’ Chris Wallace fell out of popularity with many of the network’s viewers in past years after he challenged former President Donald Trump’s actions on several occasions and generally seemed to transition to being a left-leaning journalist.
However, according to PJ Media, Wallace appeared to show some journalistic integrity on Sunday as he interrupted one of President Joe Biden’s surrogates who repeated the false narrative that the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion spending package has “zero cost.”
Cedric the liar
It was clear on Sunday that the Biden administration sent out all of their people to the various Sunday talk shows in order to drum up support for the spending package, including senior presidential adviser Cedric Richmond.
Richmond, like many other Biden Democrats, somehow believe that they can convince Americans that the $3.5 trillion spending bill doesn’t have a cost — a narrative that is as outrageous as it is completely stupid.
Wallace wasn’t interested in letting Richmond get away with the lie, as he fact-checked him on the spot, during the interview.
“It doesn’t cost zero,” the Fox host said, according to PJ Media. “Whether it’s $3.5 trillion or $2 trillion, it — or $1.5 trillion, whatever, it costs that amount of money. Now, you can pay for it either by borrowing it or you can pay for it by raising taxes on corporations and the wealthy, but it doesn’t cost zero.”

Richmond isn’t the only Democrat taking flak for promoting Biden’s “zero cost” lie. Last week, as she scrambled to build congressional support for the legislative package, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was ridiculed on social media for spouting the lie.
“It’s not about a dollar amount,” Pelosi told reporters. “The dollar amount, as the president said, is zero. This bill will be paid for.”
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) slammed the speaker at the time, tweeting, “If she really thinks her $3.5 trillion plan ‘costs zero dollars,’ she’s as delusional as President Biden.”
Others took shots at Pelosi for apparently devising a new math system, where $3.5 trillion now equals zero.
It’s truly ridiculous that the Biden administration and his surrogates would choose such an asinine way to sell their package. Regardless, thanks to some of the true moderates left in the Democratic Party, it appears as if the bill is dying anyway.
