Just when we thought Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) couldn’t possibly be more inflammatory than she already is, she went and did exactly that.

According to Fox News, the radical progressive Democrat had the audacity to claim that within a period of 10 years, there exists the strong possibility of a “very real risk” that America will no longer be a Democracy, and that the nation will “return to Jim Crow.”

The asinine claim came about after an interview Ocasio-Cortez did with the New Yorker, in which she claims that it’s likely America will act like a Democracy, but will no longer be one. Of course, she failed to provide any substantive proof for such a bizarre claim.

“I think there’s a very real risk that we will not,” AOC said an interview published Monday. “What we risk is having a government that perhaps postures as a democracy, and may try to pretend that it is, but isn’t.”

“Jim Crow” again

Parroting the Democratic narrative that American voting laws are “systemically racist,” AOC tossed in the use of the party’s favorite word: “Jim Crow.”

“I think we will look like ourselves. I think we will return to Jim Crow,” she said in the interview. “I think that’s what we risk.”

“In Florida, where you had the entire state vote to allow people who were released from prison to be reenfranchised after they have served their debt to society, that’s essentially being replaced with poll taxes and intimidation at the polls,” she added.

AOC continued: “You have the complete erasure and attack on our own understanding of history, to replace teaching history with institutionalized propaganda from white-nationalist perspectives in our schools. This is what the scaffolding of Jim Crow was.”

Many laughed at her accusation that it was Republicans leading the effort to the “erasure” of history, as Democrats have spent the past several years literally tearing down and removing monuments and statues of some of the most historic American figures, not to mention their attempts to literally rewrite history with the “1619 Project.”

“Will we revert?”

AOC, now apparently an expert on both American history and the civil rights movement, went on to claim that perhaps the past six decades or so was a “mere flirtation” with a “multiracial democracy.”

“And we will revert to what we had before, which, by the way, wasn’t just Jim Crow but also the extraordinary economic oppression as well?” she added.

Her comments, while totally insane, shouldn’t come as a surprise. If there’s one thing AOC has mastered, it’s hyping up her massive social media presence, where she routinely touts misleading and outright false information to her followers, who actually seem to believe her. Meanwhile, Big Tech has seemingly no interest in censoring her like they do with conservative truth-tellers.
