AOC says she's afraid Trump will throw her in jail

Squad member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said on the Kara Swisher podcast on Thursday that she's afraid former President Donald Trump will throw her in jail if he gets re-elected in November.

“I mean, it sounds nuts, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy threw me in jail,” she said. “He’s out of his mind. I mean, he did his whole first campaign around ‘lock her up.’ This is his motto.”

With her characteristic exaggeration coupled with a complete lack of logic and decorum, Ocasio-Cortez failed to recognize that the "lock her up" rhetoric was directed at his opponent, Hillary Rodham Clinton, before his first term in office in 2016.

He never did lock up Clinton, however. So what on earth is Ocasio-Cortez talking about?

"I take him at his word"

“I take him at his word when he says that he’s going to round up people. I take him at his word when he threatens journalists. I take him at his word,” she said. “I feel like what we saw in his first presidency was an amuse-bouche to what his intentions are. He has learned from his mistakes of appointing professionals, and he will not make that mistake next time.”

And unlike most of her Democrat colleagues, Ocasio-Cortez acknowledges that Trump has a decent chance of beating President Joe Biden, who does not seem to know where he is most of the time anymore, in November.

“Trump does absolutely have a chance to win. That is why I have thrown my support behind Biden early and I support it vociferously,” she said. “It is unequivocal that if Donald Trump wins, we are looking at the potential dissolution of democracy in the United States of America and the question about what would happen to me or the Democratic Party is a joke compared to the question of what is going to happen to our country.”

Ocasio-Cortez must either not be able to understand context or be deliberately ignoring it because it helps her make her ridiculous points about Trump.

"They're wrong"

Although Trump has used the word "retribution" to describe what he will do if elected, he has explained that he isn't using the term to mean that he will necessarily target or punish his opponents in the usual way.

“Number one, they’re wrong,” Trump told Hannity. “It has to stop, because otherwise, we’re not going to have a country. Look, when this election is over, based on what they’ve done, I would have every right to go after them, and it’s easy, because it’s Joe Biden and you see all the criminality, all of the money that’s going into the family and him, all of this money from China, from Russia, from Ukraine.”

Trump also said that his "retribution" would be the success of his administration in dealing with immigration and bringing the economy back to a stronger position.

He does want to get rid of a lot of Washington "deep state" bureaucrats who are trying to govern and make laws even though they are unelected. Most of them seem to be leftist and trying to help Democrats and progressives.

As far as Biden and "democracy," it just shows her ignorance of reality.

Biden's election will be another four years of thwarting democracy, but that's exactly what she wants to have happen anyway.
