The new darling of the Democratic Party — and Bernie Sanders’ right-hand woman — is under assault.
According to The Washington Times, New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) is being hammered with billboard ads from a conservative advocacy group charging that the freshman congresswoman hurt New Yorkers when she pushed to kill a 2019 deal with Amazon to put the company’s second headquarters in the Big Apple.
AOC under fire
The “Amazon HQ2” deal would have been a major windfall for both the city and state of New York, netting thousands of jobs, providing billions of dollars in wages, and offering a huge boost to the local economy.
AOC viewed it as a win when she helped block the project from ever getting started, but many New Yorkers do not see it that way.
Now, Job Creators Network is on its second straight year of bashing the congresswoman via billboard for the so-called “Amazon pullout.” According to the Times, one billboard reads:
Hey AOC! Remember when you bragged about the Amazon pullout? … A year ago you lost 25,000 NYC Jobs, $4 billion in Lost Wages and $12 Billion in Lost Economic activity for NY. Thanks for Nothing, AOC!
Democracy for America, a left-leaning PAC, has since tried to offset the attack with a message of its own.

But while progressives may still be lining up behind AOC, the new billboards show that not everyone is on board with the congresswoman’s radical ideas.
After AOC won her election in a massive upset, many believed it would be the beginning of a long career — but her constituents soon found themselves frustrated that they had no way to talk to their congresswoman. Indeed, she went months without a local office or even a phone number for them to call.
But she did make time to help block Amazon from settling in New York, citing the tax breaks the company would have received. Rather than looking at the positives for the local community, AOC only focused on these (pretty standard) concessions — and it could cost her in the upcoming election.
Ocasio-Cortez has no less than a dozen Democrats running against her in a primary race for her House seat, most of them attacking her for simply not caring about her constituents and worrying more about her career. This has only been made worse by the fact AOC has been spending all of her spare time on the campaign trail with 2020 hopeful Bernie Sanders.
AOC seems to have put all of her eggs into the Bernie basket — and if he fails to win this election, she could find herself without a presidential candidate, and without a job, come November.
