Bit actor who appeared in 'Grown Ups,' Alec Musser, receives tribute from Adam Sandler and Salma Hayek after unexpected death

Hollywood star Adam Sandler recently paid tribute to an actor who played a small but memorable role in one of his comedy movies after suddenly passing away over the weekend, People magazine reported.

Alec Musser, 50, who played a brief but humorous bit role in Sandler's 2010 comedy "Grown Ups," was also memorialized by Hollywood actress Salma Hayek, who played Sandler's wife in the film and starred in the scene that involved Musser.

Sandler praised Musser as a "wonderful, funny good man"

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Sandler shared a photo of Musser from the "Grown Ups" movie and wrote, "I loved this guy. Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person."

Musser's death had been announced on Saturday by his fiancée, Paige Press, who commented on Sandler's post and thanked him for his touching tribute to her late would-be spouse.

"He spoke so highly of you and I know working on [Grown Ups] was one of the best times of his life," Press reportedly wrote in response to Sandler. "My heart is so broken."

Hayek said news of death "breaks my heart"

On Monday, Hayek also took to Instagram and shared a clip of the "Grown Ups" scene featuring Musser and said, "In loving memory of Alec Musser. He was so kind professional and absolutely hilarious."

"His early departure breaks my heart. I feel so blessed that I got to meet him. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones for this great loss," she added.

That scene featured the attractive and physically fit Musser emerging from a pool in a water park while Hayek's character and several other women swooned, only for that initial attraction to abruptly shift into mocking laughter when Musser's character began to speak to them with an absurdly high-pitched Canadian accent.

Death on Friday revealed by grieving fiancée

Entertainment Weekly reported that the death of Musser, who was best known for his two-year stint as Del Henry on the soap opera "All My Children," was first announced by his betrothed in a series of social media posts on Saturday.

Press wrote, "RIP to the love of my life" and "I will never stop loving you. My heart is broken," on a post that included pictures of them together, and in separate posts also wrote, "Today is the worst day of my life. We were so happy," as well as "You were the best fiancée I could of [sic] ever asked for."

Musser is reported to have passed away at his home in Del Mar, California, on Friday, but no cause of death has been revealed as of yet.

Fitness model who won a reality TV contest to be a soap star

According to his IMDb page, Musser had just six acting credits to his name, the most notable of which was his unnamed character in "Grown Ups" -- identified only as the "Water Park Stud" -- though he also appeared in 43 episodes of "All My Children" from 2005-2007, made five appearances in the 2009 TV series "Rita Rocks," and made a single appearance in 2011 on the "Desperate Housewives" TV series.

EW noted that Musser earned the "All My Children" role after winning the "I Wanna Be A Soap Star" reality TV contest, and aside from his few acting credits also worked as a fitness and clothing model.
